Powers: Rubberduck’s body is totally malleable; he can stretch any part of his body to incredible lengths, or compress it enough to pass through a paper-thin opening. In addition he can disguise himself by changing his facial features or alter his shape to pose as various types of objects. Rubberduck’s favorite offense is to mold his anatomy into weapons such as hammers or piledrivers. He can also turn himself into a glider shape if he absolutely has to take to the sky. His body is extremely durable, bullets and most blunt attacks simply bounce off of Rubberduck.

History: Byrd Rentals is from the dimension of Earth-C, a world inhabited by intelligent animals. Byrd was a famous film actor, who starred in such movies as Smoke-Eye and the Panda, Crashing Boars, and The Canine-Bull Run. One day he was being interviewed by gossip columnist Rova Barkitt when they were both struck by fragments of a meteor launched by the dimensionally displaced Starro the Conqueror. They both gained superpowers, becoming Rubberduck and Yankee Poodle, but they agreed to keep their identities secret until they could figure out how to make money off their powers. Other animals had been struck by Strarros’ meteorite, and they decided to form a team of superheroes, the Zoo Crew. The Zoo Crew banished Starro from Earth-C and then set up shop for super-heroing.

Rubberduck has parlayed his superhero career into million-dollar movie, TV and book deals featuring the exploits of the Zoo Crew. Rubberduck’s true identity is known only to his teammates, mainly because people consider Rubberduck’s power silly, and he fears tarnishing his heroic image as Byrd Rentals. Rubberduck has also had many successful solo adventures, defeating such enemies as Power Platypus and Salamandroid.

(Teen Titans III #30 (fb, BTS) - President Mallard Fillmore pressured Rubberduck the Zoo Crew into revealing their secret identities, but they refused. The team was driven underground, and later disbanded when Captain Carrot turned himself over to the authorities after killing Armordillo, who murdered Carrie Carrot.

(Teen Titans III #30, 31) -Little Cheese was murdered, and crumbs from a super-powered carrot were found at the scene, implicating Captain Carrot. Rubberduck and the Zoo Crew reformed to find Cheese's murderer. American Eagle joined the Crew, and forced Captain Carrot out of retirement to clear his name. The Crew was led to Dark Alley, who was posing as Alley-Kat-Abra, and learned she's sold the Zoo Crew's secrets to president Fillmore. She killed Cheese to keep him quit after he found her out, and when Fastback learned what she did, and she sent him 100 years into the future. After Alley was arrested the Crew went into the future to rescue Fastback.
