History: (Powerpuff Girls #10) - Rocko the Clown was an ex-con who went to college along with several other former convicts in hopes of securing a livelihood for themselves in Townsville. Rocko was hired to provide entertainment for little Scotty’s birthday party, and the Pokey Oaks Kindergarten class and the Powerpuff Girls were in attendance. Powerpuff Girl Bubbles was terrified of clowns, and Blossom encouraged her to ask Rocko for a balloon animal while Buttercup berated her for being a baby. The other children tormented Rocko by throwing pies and eggs at him, and he finally had enough. He was sick and tired of feeling like a laughing stock, so he vowed to take over Townsville with his fellow ex-cons. He knocked out Scotty’s parents with a bottle of super-seltzer and went on a rampage with his clown gang, declaring that clowns would never be free men as long as they were tormented by children. The Powerpuff Girls went into action, angry that Rocko had ruined their friends’ birthday party. Bubbles said she was still afraid of clown, but when the other Powerpuff Girls pointed out Rocko was more criminal than clown she regained her confidence because she wasn’t afraid of criminals. Rocko’s clown gang started to overwhelm the girls with sheer numbers, so Bubbles rounded up the Pokey Oaks Kindergarten class and Scotty, took them to a joke shop, and provided backup foiling the miscreant clowns with pranks and gimmicks. Rocko and his gang were loaded up into a paddy wagon and Rocko begged the Girls not to send him back to jail, saying it was torture, but Blossom replied that it was just too bad he’d chosen to use his skills for mayhem instead of bringing children laughter. Bubbles was still kind of afraid of Clowns so buttercup and Blossom dragged her kicking to the circus.
