These Fish-Men adapted to undersea life, but eventually they died out, all except for Riverman. Fearing humans, he went berserk when the South River Tunnel Project invaded his domain, and he killed every undersea worker he came across. Plas investigated and used Woozy as bait. Riverman failed to kill Woozy, but Plas failed to capture him. Riverman decided to put an end to the project, going on land, killing a worker and dressing in his clothes. He tried to dynamite the tunnel, but was stopped by Plas. As he told Plas his history he died because he’d been out of water too long.

In the pre-Crisis DC Universe Riverman lived on Earth-2. Riverman, like most characters from the golden age Plastic Man stories, may or may not be a part of post-Crisis DC continuity.

Riverman was originally a Quality Comics character, which DC obtained the rights to in 1956.
