History (Dragonlance #21) - As a young girl Riva and her friend Brak were exploring the mountainside, and Brak dared her to climb up a cliff face to steal an eggshell fragment from a Bronze Dragon’s nest. Brak was shocked when Riva started climbing the cliff, and begged her to stop, saying it was too dangerous. Veryntrilyx, the mother dragon, was upset at her domain being intruded upon, and grabbed Riva, tossing her into her nest before deciding what to do with her. Riva infuriated the mother dragon when she revealed she was trying to steal an egg fragment on a dare. Veryntrilyx said she hoped she’d do a better job raising her children than Riva’s parents did. Riva fell through the bottom of the nest into a tunnel in the cliff that held Veryntrilyx’ dragon’s horde. Veryntrilyx took flight from her nest, and her young followed Riva to the horde, taking a liking to her. Gnomes exploring the mountain discovered the horde and were determined to steal it. When Veryntrilyx returned they tried to take her children hostage, but Riva fended them off, using the treasures from the horde as weapons. Veryntrilyx admitted that she misjudged Riva, and allowed her to spend time with her, and Riva spent days watching in delight as Veryntrilyx taught her children to fly. Veryntrilyx told Riva it was time for her to leave, but said that when she was older she had the potential to be Veryntrilyx’ dragon familiar. Veryntrilyx gifted Riva with an amulet that would make her forget their encounter until it was time to remember it again.

(Dragonlance #30-32) - In the years following the War of the Lance Lord Silvercrown held an annual tournament of champions to forge political alliances and choose new members of the Knights of Solamnia. Sixteen year old Riva Silvercrown felt it was her destiny to join the knighthood, and entered the tournament with her identity hidden. After defeating her first opponent she revealed her identity, and Lord Silvercrown was furious. He assured the crowd his daughter was part of a comedy routine before he jousted with Riva, disarming her and sending her back home. The tournament was supposed to receive a shipment of weapons from the neighboring Neidar dwarves, so Riva, desperate to prove she deserved to be a knight, went into the woods to investigate. She was shadowed by her brother, who Lord Silvercrown had dispatched to make sure Riva didn’t get into any further mischief. The savage Mountain Dwarf Uurthrym Wolfthane and his Wolf-Clan met the youth, saying they had his father’s weapons, so he led them to Lord Silvercrown’s council chambers. Riva found the badly injured Andvari Stonehelm, a Mountain Dwarf mercenary hired by the Neidar to protect them after their village was attacked by Wolfthane and his clan. Riva brought him to the Neidar village for medical treatment, and he explained how he was accompanying the Neidar to bring Lord Silvercrown his weapons when they were beset by Wolfthane. He begged Riva to being the Knights of Solmania to their aid, but she insisted she had the heart of a knight and would be their savior. Wolfthane presented the weapons to Lord Silvercrown, and presented his cursed sword Kinslayer, saying he could forge a weapon that would be its’ equal for the king. Lord Silvercrown was entranced with the sword, and agreed that he desperately wanted it. Riva began training the Neidar in combat, but Andvari told her she was being headstrong and would bring death to the Neidar if she didn’t bring in the Knights of Solamnia to help. Wolfthane spoke to his mistress, a White Dragon, in the caves underneath the Wolf-Clan’s keep, and she demanded he bring her Riva, whom the oracles predicated would cause her trouble in the future. Wolfthane and the Wolf-Clan attacked the Neidar village, capturing Riva and Andvari, slaughtering dozens, and razing the village. Riva begged Andvari for forgiveness, admitting she’d been foolish and stubborn, but promised the fight against the Wolf-Clan wasn’t over. Neidar priest Theolin led the surviving villagers into the woods where they set up a refuge camp. Riva told Andvari a story of her youth, when she’d disturbed a swan’s nest and her father saved her from injury. Her father explained that the swan wasn’t evil, it was just protecting its’ young, and she admitted she wished Lord Silvercrown was there to save her now. Wolfthane tossed the bodies of the dead Neidar into the Wolf-clan’s cavern as a tribute to their goddess. He told Riva and Andvari that he and his clan represented what dwarves all originally were, fierce and wild, saying he had to keep dwarven bloodlines pure, which is why he wanted the peaceful Neidar destroyed. He asked Andvari to join him in his genocidal quest, and Andvari refused. Wolfthane decided to sacrifice him to the White Dragon, and Andvari asked to be given the chance to go out fighting. Wolfthane freed him, and Andvari rushed into the dragon’s cavern swinging his ax, but was killed by the dragon’s frost-breathe. Riva escaped her chains and fled, but Wolfthane pursued her. She almost fell off the side of the mountain, but Wolfthane saved her before knocking her unconscious with a punch. He sensed something good and pure in her, and was saddened that the White Dragon had ordered Riva’s death. He couldn’t bear to turn her over to the mercies of the dragon and attacked his mistress, who killed him with her frost-breathe. The dragon urged Riva to pick up Kinslayer, but Riva refused, knowing the sword corrupted all who used it. Lord Silvercrown grew weary waiting for a Kingslayer of his own, and arrived with the Knights of Solamnia at the keep, claiming Kinslayer for his own despite Riva’s pleadings. The White Dragon attacked the Knights of Solamnia and Kinslayer commanded Lord Silvercrown kill his daughter. Riva fled from him, tumbling into the dragon’s cavern. Theolin met her, telling Riva he had to ensure the Neidar had a future, showing her a cluth of hundreds of White Dragon eggs. Riva said the Knights of Solamnia could raise the hatchlings and make them into a force for good, but Theolin insisted White Dragons were naturally evil. A hatchling flew out the cavern and Riva pursued it. She ran into Lord Silvercrown, and after a brief duel the hatchling attacked him. He impaled it, and the hatchling and Kinslayers both tumbled into a crevasse, ending the cursed sword’s influence over Silvercrown. The White Dragon returned to her cave to save her brood, and Theolin used a Horn of Blasting to bring the mountain down on them, sacrificing himself. The dragon, clinging to life, emerged from the mountain and told Riva the oracle’s prediction that she would grow up to wield the Dragonlance and bring doom to dragonkind. The dragon perished, and Lord Silvercrown told Riva how proud he was of her. He’d changed his mind about her training to be a Knight of Solamnia, and Riva was pleased, but said there was plenty of time for training, but she wanted to return home with her father and enjoy the last few years of her childhood with her family.

(Dragonlance #1) - Riva and the Knight of Solamnia had fallen out of favor, since some people blamed them for the Cataclysm when the old gods destroyed Krynn with flames. Riva was an accomplished knight, and went to her father's castle to bring tidings of war. She was trailed by Hobgoblins, and was aided in dispatching them by Sturm Brightblade, another Knight of Solamnia. The journey exhausted her, and he carried her to a monastery, but passed out when they arrived. He woke up to find himself tended to by the Clerical Order of Majere, and was angry that they'd placed his sword in their armory because they forbid weapons in the monastery. Sturm left, but Riva staid behind, hoping the clerics could teach her about the Medallion of Majere that she'd won in battle. Sturm's uncle Vandar revealed himself as one of the clerics, and examined the enchanted item when the monastery was attacked by Lord Soth and his Deathknights. Vandar used the medallion to summon an insect plague, but that only temporarily halted them. Soth, his knights, and a dragon burned the monastery to the ground while Riva and Vandar hid. After Soth left Vandar showed Vanda that he had a Dragonlance in the armory, an enchanted weapon designed to combat dragons.

(Dragonlance #2) - Vanadra told Riva she was the one worthy of the Dragonlance, and they made their way to her father's keep. Before they bedded down for the night in the woods Vandar noted that the constellations Queen of Darkness and the Valiant Warrior had vanished from the sky, and he took it as a sign that the Dark Queen Takhisis and the god of good Paladine had left the heavens to have a final confrontation on Krynn. Riva slept poorly, having nightmares about Soth and dragons. When they awoke they were attacked by a Draconian, pursuing them because Soth knew they still lived. They were rescued by the wizard Fizban, and his youthful companion Tip. They were both running from the Seekers because Tip's parents had blasphemed against the new gods, and Riva invited them to join her. They arrived at Lord Silvercrown's castle, and he still believed he could avoid war. Riva argued with him because he still refused to see her as a knight because she was a woman, and was angered that he preferred her alcoholic brother Marik. Fizban interrupted the awkward conversation by trying to remember a magic trick, and Marik asked him to show him some magic on the roof of the castle. He revealed himself as a Draconian, he'd killed the real Marik, and was acting as a spy, but he sensed Fizban had powerful magic even though he played a doddering fool. Vandar suspected something was up, and the Draconian tossed him a sword, knowing the cleric had foresworn weapons. He stood by helplessly as the Draconian threw Fizban down a shaft. Tip and Riva heard the commotion, and were both in a rage. Riva demanded single combat against the Draconian and slew him. the Draconian then shapeshifted into her own likeness.

(Dragonlance #3) - Riva and Vandar found themselves in the same dream, and after Riva professed her love for Vandar he turned into a Draconian. Riva fought her father and brother, and Vandar was tortured by a hobgoblin. Vandar had to relive the night his brother died, and he told Riva how guilty he'd felt for allowing it to happen. It turned out that Soth was sending them the nightmare, and he introduced them to his queen Takhisis. She demanded to know who "the one" was, knowing the heroes had been with him. Riva didn't know what she was talking about, but attacked her anyway. Takhisis revealed her dragon form and Riva wounded her with the Dragonlance, causing the dream to end. They wondered who "the one" was and Fizban appeared, alive and well, and revealed that he was who Takhisis was after.

(Dragonlance #4) - Fizban immediately forgot what he was talking about, and pointed to the advancing dragon armies. Riva said she didn't have time for him to recover his memory, or for Vandar to decide he was willing to pick up a sword. Lord Silvercrown told his knights they were about to enter final battle, and urged them to die with honor, but Riva appeared to rally them and proclaim that they could win the battle yet. Vandar struggled with his faith, and Fizban assured him that the gods never intended a monk to stand by while his friends died, and reminded him that the rules of his order were written by men, not gods. Riva turned the tide of battle by climbing a parapet, leaping, and fatally stabbing the red dragon. The Dragon Highlord challenged her to combat, and soon disarmed and wounded her. Vandar appeared, taking up the sword, and using the Medallion of Majere to conjure an exoskeleton. He fended off the Highlord until Fizban and Tip investigated, and she took Tip hostage. The distracted Vandar was fatally wounded by the Highlord's blue dragon. The Highlord saw that the medallion was burned into his chest, and was pleased it could no longer be used against her Dark Queen, so she stole the Dragonlance and flew off on her dragon. Riva wept for her friend, but Fizban said his brightness would not be forgotten by the world, and he produced the Dragonlance, revealing that he'd let the Highlord take an imitation, and he was the one who left the Dragonlance in Vandar's monastery. Before he died Vandar recognized Fizban as an avatar of Paladine, the god of good.

(Dragonlance #9, 12) - Lord Gunthar knighted Riva and gave her her own command unit. Thanks to Riva's bravery and the use of the Dragonlance the forces of good won the day. Forces of evil were still afoot, and Kitiara rallied her dragonsoldiers and looked to expand her sphere of influence to Nethosak, city of the Minotaurs. They offered the warlike Minotaurs a military alliance, and Gunthar sent Riva, Tanis Half-Elven and the elven cleric Loralon to Nethosak to counter with a trade alliance. Gunthar had chosen Tanis because he knew Kitiara's scheming ways better than anyone else because he was once her lover, and Riva was to keep her eye on him to make sure Kitiara didn't seduce him. At the meeting with Minotaur leader Bas Ohn-Horak he leaned towards Kitiara's offer, because she was a warrior and a conqueror, much like his own people. Loralon revealed that Tanis was with Ohn-Horak's brother Bas Ohn-Koraf when he perished during the War of the Lance. Tanis had no idea how he had that information, and wished Loralon would have alerted to him to his plan, but Ohn-Horak badly wanted to perform the proper funeral rites for his brother, and promised a greater chance at an alliance if Tanis led him to his brother's watery grave in the blood sea of Ishtar. Ohn-Horak hosted the night's entertainment, a feast eaten while they watched a Gully Dwarf run through a maze of monsters. The Dwarf was killed, and Riva was disgusted, while Kitiara enjoyed herself. Ohn-Horak said the entertainment was also an educational lesson for young Minotaurs, weakness was never tolerated in their society. Kitiara flirted with Tanis and baited Riva, who was still furious that she'd caused the deaths of several of their friends. The next day Ohn-Horak, Loralon, Tanis and a crew of Minotaurs set sail for the blood sea. Kitiara followed them with her black dragon, and Tanis told Ohn-Horak how she'd driven him and her brother into a storm during the war. The ship sank, and while sea elves saved several of them Bas Ohn-Koraf sunk beneath the waves. A storm blew up, and a whirlpool opened up beneath the ship. They ended up in the sunken city of Ishtar, turned into a gladiator arena by Dragon Turtles, and Loralon revealed he'd brought them there to claim the starstones, an ancient relic that could doom Krynn if it fell into the wrong hands, and was awarded to the champions of the arena. Tanis and Horak were forced to kill Korak, and Tanis' old friend Maquesta, who hadn't perished during the War of the Lance thanks to the Dragon Turtles. Loralon used the starstones to flood Ishtar, ending the Dragon Turtles' pastime, and they returned to Nethosak. Horak refused to ally himself with Riva's group or Kitiara's, saying the Minotaurs needed their independence, so Kitiara and her Dragonsoldiers attacked Nethosak. Horak used the starstones to summon several elementals, repelling Kitiara's forces. Horak promised to use his immense power only for defense, and told Tanis he considered him a brother-at-arms.

(Dragonlance #17-20) - The Draconians reestablished a presence in Krynn, and their forces terrorized farms and villages, torching crops and killing residents. A small group of dissidents formed the resistance, including Riva Silvercrown, now an old woman. In a confrontation with the Draconians they killed her dragon Ktarrh and gravely injured her. She was cared for by two children Darial and Shaya, whose parents had been killed by the Draconians. Riva insisted on helping them bury their parents, despite her wounds, and told them the story of Wistan Dawnbringer whose village was destroyed by dragons, but put aside his motives of revenge to become a Knight of Solamnia. Riva began to feel woozy and collapsed. Darial and Shaya brought Riva to town in search of a village healer. Draconians asked them their business, and Shaya claimed to be sick and in need of healing. The Draconians threatened to light the hay in their car, which hid Riva, ablaze, but then decided they weren't worth their time. A healer, grateful for the resistance, healed Riva, and gave them food and shelter for the night. Darial told Riva he wanted to be a knight like her, and asked her about her history, but she told him it would be more instructive to hear more about Wistan. The Draconians learned of Riva's location and attacked the village, killing the healer, Riva and the children fled on horseback, and Riva said she had information to end Draconian rule. They reached a mesa, and Riva summoned her fellow Knights of Solamnia, who came flying in on the back of Bronze Dragons. She presented them a spell created by Takhisis herself, meant to reign in the Draconians if they ever got beyond her control. The spell summoned Draconians from miles around, and put them in a weakened state which made them easy pickings for the Knights. Riva finished telling the children the story of Wistan, how he sacrificed his life to save Krynn from an endless winter caused by the sorceress Ravenna, and reminded them that all heroics demanded willingness to pay the supreme sacrifice.

(Dragonlance #22, 23) - Two years after the War of the Lance the Knights of Solamnia sent Riva Silvercrown to sail by herself to the continent of Taladas. She was caught in a nasty storm, and wondered if the Knights had sent her to her death. Fizban, who Riva recognized as the great Paladine, appeared on her boat, and told her she was on a quest to learn obedience. Fizban wanted her to bring her love of justice and mercy to Taladas, because those virtues were unknown there. They reaches Taladas, but the storm threatened to dash Riva’s boat against a jagged cliff, and Fizban teleported her safely inland. Riva saw soldiers Griffin and Skrum being chased by an army. They jumped their horses over a chasm but were pursued by the minotaur Axantheas riding a black dragon. Riva injured the dragon’s wing with the Dragonlance, and when Axantheas ordered his dragon to dive-bomb her she stabbed it in the belly. The dragon fell from the sky, landing in the chasm, but Axantheas survived by leaping to the other side. Riva and her new allies fled into an underground cave. Griffen and Skrum explained that they were members of the League of Minotaurs. Their commander Axantheas made a deal with Erestem, the Queen of Darkness, who gifted him with the black dragon and the fabled Dragonring. He was planning on turning on the League’s emperor and taking control of the capital Kristophan. Griffin knew that if the emperor discovered his treachery it would mean the death of them all, so he and Skrum attacked Axantheas, severing his hand and stealing the Dragonring. They were viewed as traitors, and needed to reach Kristophan to present the emperor with the Dragonring to prove Axantheas was working against them. The League caught up with them and captured them. Axantheas’ general Tyche informed them they were being taken to Kristophan where they’d be executed as traitors. As they approached Kristophan Tyche announced that Riva and company might have co-conspirators in the city and ordered his soldiers to fan out. He kept behind one man, Rangor, behind and fatally stabbed him. Tyche didn’t want his prisoners blabbing to the emperor about Axantheas’ plans, so he intended to kill them then and there, using the cover story that they tried to escape and killed his soldier. Riva hit him over the head with a stick, and went running with Griffen and Skrum. Griffen was sure they were going to die, but said they’d at least put up a fight. Skrum figured out how to use the Dragonring and summoned a Red Dragon to fly them away. Riva was hesitant, saying Red Dragons were evil and allying herself with one would betray her knightly oaths. Tche caught up to them, and after Riva stabbed Tyche she decided to swallow her pride and fly away on the dragon. Skrum found his control over the dragon was tenuous, forcing a landing, and he dismissed the beast. Griffin suggested that instead of handing the Dragonring over to the emperor maybe he should keep it for himself, and scuffled with Skrum over it. The fight was interrupted by Maraghiz and Sulai, elves from the Tiger-Clan. Their clan’s spirit animal Quoyai sent them to Taladas on a mission to find good and make it grow. They were led by their Quoyai to seek out Riva, who was a lone bit of goodness in an otherwise corrupt land. The group knew they were in trouble when they saw several Red Dragons flying overhead.

(Dragonlance #24, 25) - Riva prayed to Paladine for guidance, knowing worship of the good gods was all but unknown on Taladas. Skrum grew impatient with her, but Maraghiz said it was important she find her path. The company debated what to do next, and Riva was growing uneasy with the idea of the emperor as an a potential ally, knowing he was as evil as Axantheas. Maraghiz said he was a necessary evil because he could help them banish Erestem from the land. Skrum suggested using his ring again to summon down an army of dragons, but Riva forbade him, saying he could only summon evil. Griffin confided in Skrum that he thought there was merit to his plan, whatever Riva thought. The located the emperor’s caravan, but his soldiers wouldn’t heed their pleas for an audience and attacked. Riva and company fought valiantly until the emperor finally gave them his ear. They told their tale, but the emperor was already aware of Axantheas’ schemes and didn’t believe Erestem to be a threat to him. Skrum had had enough and used the Dragonring to summon a horde of dragons who routed the emperor’s troops. The company debated going after the emperor, who’d been put to flight and Skrum, corrupted by the ring, declared that he’d be the new ruler of Taladas, and a loyal servant of Erestem. The dragons scooped up Skrum’s companions, and Riva lost her Dragonlance. Skrum said he was taking them to meet Erestem, who was aware they were plotting against her. They arrived at a lavafall, where Erestem created an avatar of herself from lava and fire. Erestem boasted that Riva’s plan to spread goodness throughout Taladas was doomed, and no one in the land worshipped Paladine. Sulai summoned an icestorm that allowed them to flee from Erestem. Skrum caught up with them and demanded they submit to Erestem. Griffin knocked him out, but was unable to pry the Dragonring from him, saying it was as if it was grafted to his hand. Axantheas arrived, riding a Red Dragon and threatened to kill the company. They were saved by Riva’s dragon Ktarrh, who’d been sent by Fizban to aid her in her quest. Riva and Axantheas had an aerial duel over a lavafield, and Axantheas called out to Erestem for aid, so she reformed her avatar. With Erestem distracted Maraghiz removed her control over Skrum, causing the Dragonring to slip from his hand. The fight started going against Riva, so Griffin risked possession by Erestem to summon a dragon to help her in her duel. He was no match for Axantheas, but when he tossed the Dragonring in the lava Axantheas dove in after it, incinerating himself and his dragon. Erestem was disgusted that her champion had failed her. Riva’s companions all swore by the gods of good to help her banish evil from Taladas.

(Dragonlance #26, 27) - Riva and company camped by the hills of the Glass Seas, and Riva had a dream where Ktarrh was assailed by a group of dragons during a fierce storm. She woke from her nightmare and saw Ktarrh flying off, driven by unknown forces. She was bound to pursue her dragon, and hired Glass Sailor Antara to take her company to the Wind Caverns of Rathna Vulghan, also known as the Vaults of Despair. Skrum thought she was mad to drag them on a quest based on a dream and instincts, but Maraghiz and Sulai were confident she knew what she was doing. Antara confessed to Riva that everything about their voyage went against her instincts as a Glass Sailor, but she felt compelled to help her. Riva suggested she was feeling the influence of Paladine, and assured her she had her role banishing evil from Taladas. The Minotaur League, led by Karranus, commandeered a boat and were in pursuit of them, catching up as they approached the Cavern, but Karranus feared the elven magic the caverns contained and would not follow. He had the captive crew drag their boat overland to meet them on the other side. In the cavern Maraghiz and Sulaiu read the elvish ruins, realizing it was a gathering place of dragons. Antara and her crew were assailed by spectral monsters, and battled them until they came out the other side, at which point their opponents vanished. They were met by Karranus’ ship, and the crews of both ships were beset by a Glass Sea shardstorm. Riva said the storm was the one from her nightmare, and she had to save Ktarrh, but Antara forced her below deck, saying the shardstorm would cut her to ribbons. Ktarrh came to the rescue, bringing Antara’s ship to a safe place in the caverns. Riva was overjoyed at being reunited with her dragon, and Ktaarh explained that he’d been called away because a clutch of Silver Dragons were about to be born. Ktarrh and a council of other dragons were trying to convince the silver Dragons, lead by Eron, that the eggs were better protected being scattered throughout Taladas instead of concentrated in one area. The unborn dragons could be a great force for good, but Erestem and Hith both sought them out for their own evil ends. Karranus and his men survived the storm and caught up with Riva and company. Karranus demanded Antara hand Riva, Skrum and Griffin over to them, but she refused. Antara’s Minotaur crewman Hester was Karranus’ cousin, and challenged him to personal combat. The normally meek and mild Hester slew his cousin, even though it saddened him to do it, and Griffin and Skrum repulsed the other Minotaurs. Hith, the god of evil of Thenol, coveted the Silver Dragon eggs to turn into Draconians, and unleashed an army of Ogres on the hatching ground. Eron and the other dragons killed them, but not before they managed to smash all of the eggs. Eron grieved, and Riva confided in Antara that Eron had learned a dear lesson in putting one’s pride above all else.

(Dragonlance #29) - Atara and her crew were caught in a shardstorm, so she set course for a Glass Sailor oasis. The magic word that opened the gates didn’t work, and her ship was set to crash until Maraghiz and Sulai used their elvish magic to open the gate. Atara was furious that someone changed the word of entry. Atara and crew were greeted by Aris and newly appointed tribal mage Krey, whose predecessor had been killed by Horax. Krey made it clear he disliked the outsiders, calling them unclean and telling them they needed to undergo the Rites of Purification. A Glass Sailor alerted them that the Horax were raiding their fields, threatening their harvest, and the crew went into action. The Horax killed several Sailors, and Krey, in his impetuousness cast a fireball spell that killed the horax but set the crops on fire. Antara told Riva the council would pass judgment on him, and said it would almost certainly be a death sentence. Riva prayed to Paladine for Krey, and Antara warned her to respect the ways of her people. Riva interrupted the council meeting, pleading for mercy on Krey and infuriating the Glass Sailors. The council said they’d decided to exile Krey and told Riva that if her god was so powerful he could watch over Krey. Antara was saddened for Krey, but told Riva she was a captain and had to respect rules and discipline, but hinted that Riva didn’t have to abide by the same standards. Riva, riding Ktarrh, rescued Krey from a shardstorm. Aris barred her from the oasis, angered by her meddling, but Ktarrh burst in. Antara warnedd Riva that they were friends, but she’d gone too far, and was willing to fight her. Krey attacked Aris, demanding freedom or death, and was cut down by an archer. Riva was disappointed in herself for botching the situation, failing Krey and Paladine. Riva and her company departed the oasis, and Antara told her Paladine had little power in Taladas, calling Riva’s quest futile, but Riva was determined to carry on.

(Dragonlance #33, 34) - Riva and company were attacked by the League of Minotaurs, and Griffin was badly injured. They fled to Southern Hosk, with the League still on their trail. They came across a small village and discovered several dead Minotaurs. Tyskel, a healer from the Cult of Mislaxa gave them shelter and tended to Griffin. Tykel told them the story of Mislaxa’s patron saint Miisia Genyei, a woman chosen by destiny to defeat Lord Bylarr and his Darkhold and become a healer. Her story was aimed at Riva, who she recognized as a woman of destiny. Riva hoped one day she would be as sure of her mission as Miisia was of hers.
