Powers: Ranx was a sentient city later upgraded into a planet. Circuitry throughout his quadrants allowed him to monitor every part of his being. This circuitry fed into a central data processor that operated as Ranx' brain. Ranx was armed with gravity disruptors that could rupture a planet’s core

History: Ranx' origins are unknown, but he was said to have existed for millennia.

(Green Lantern Corps II #15 (fb, BTS)) - The Sinestro Corps inducted Ranx and expanded the city into an entire planet.

(Green Lantern Corps II #14-16, Green Lantern IV #22) - The Sinestro Corps prepared a frontal assault on the GLC, and released the sentient planet Ranx on the GLC’s sentient planet Mogo, knowing the Corps would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. Ranx badly wanted revenge against Guy Gardner for his previous humiliation at the Lantern’s hands, but Sinestro Corps soldier Enkafos calmed him down and assured him personal vendettas could be settled after the GLC was crippled. Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. Mogo concentrated his life energy around his core, making it an impenetrable shell, and giving the GLC enough time to disable the Children. Ranx went after Mogo again with his gravity disruptors, but was completely distracted by his single-minded obsession with finding and killing Guy. Killowog sent corpsmen Yat, Kol, Stel and Chthatis off to Ranx to destroy the planet’s brain, and it was Sodam Yat that succeeded in destroying Ranx.
