History: Caitlin Fairchild, Burnout, Grunge and Freefall were offered a government internship by IO , but it turned out to be their program to unlock the powers of gen-active humans. They fled the facility, along with fellow test subject Rainmaker, and struck out for themselves as Gen13.

(The Authority I #13, 16) - The Authority became worldwide celebrities, and Gen 13 were invited to one of their after-hours parties aboard the Carrier.

(The Authority I #29) - Gen13 were invited to the marriage of Apollo and the Midnighter aboard the Authority's Carrier.
