History: (Azrael II #5 (fb)) - Young Rory and his father Gerry watched a news conference about the conflict in the Middle East and the actions of the P.L.O. Rory asked his father why the Palestinians weren't allowed to exist alongside the Israelis, and his father said they didn't just want to exist, they wanted to kill their people.
Rory's father presented him with the Ragman suit. The suit was created by Rabbis versed in magic for a Jewish champion to wear, and Gerry was the previous Ragman.
(Day of Judgment #1-5) - Ragman was recruited by Zatanna to join the Sentinels of Magic, whose purpose was to battle Spectre / Asmodel, who'd unleashed Hell on Earth. The Sentinels separated Asmodel from most of the Spectre-Force, imprisoning it in Madame Xanadu's globe. It was only a temporary solution, and the Sentinels knew they needed the Spear of Destiny to defeat Asmodel. Ragman stayed on the scene to hold back the army of demons wrecking havoc on Earth. The demons disappeared when a group of heroes travelled to Hell to reignite the hellfire pits. Green Lantern Hal Jordan became the Spectre's new host after the Spear of Destiny was used to injure Asmodel, but a new threat emerged when Neron possessed Superman. Hal defeated Neron, sending him back to Hell.
(Martian Manhunter II #28) - Ragman and the Sentinels of Magic battled the Demon, who'd seen separated from Jason Blood and was tapping into the power of Stonehenge. At Phantom Strangers request Martian Manhunter joined the Sentinels in battle, and found Morgan Le Fay, who had Jason Blood trapped in a tesseract jewel. Manhunter shattered the jewel, freeing Blood, and ending the Demon s threat.
(JLA #68) - Atlantis, ancient and in ruins, appeared on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. Ragman and several mystics cast a spell on the JLA to send them to 1,000 B.C. and determine the fate of the Atlantis that Tempest had sent back in time during the Imperiex War.
(Azrael II #5) - The Beth Din approached Rory after a group of Hassidim beat Youssif Moussad, whose brother had planted a bomb in a day care center in Tel Aviv. As Ragman he went to Youssif's apartment and confronted Azrael, who wanted to dispense his version of god's vengeance. The dead in Ragman's suit saw lies that blinded Azrael, and forced him to confront the fact that his faith was based on anger, the only thing he knew. Azrael was in despair, but still wanted to know if he should kill Youssif, who knew where his brother was hiding. Ragman warned him about blind zealotry, which had led them to this mess in the first place.
