History: (Spectre IV #25) - Miklos suffered from acromegaly and volunteered to act as a guinea pig for a group of scientists who promised to cure his condition. After a series of hormone and chemical treatments Miklos was not cured, instead he grew larger, gained superhuman powers and became prone to fits of rage. He went on a six month rampage across America, killing over two dozen and causing millions in property damage, and the media dubbed him Rabid. The D.E.O. captured Rabid and once in prison he regained his composure and mental capability. The Spectre (Hal Jordan) offered him redemption, and showed him the ghosts of the people he killed. Rabid decided his personal path to redemption was in admitting he was guilty of murder. He pled guilty in court and gladly accepted the judge's sentence of death. He was executed in a modified electric chair, and afterwards his soul was ushered into the afterlife by Spectre.
