Powers: Quetzalcoatl possessed the powers of flight, vast superhuman strength, invulnerability, immortality, and control of the weather. His powers increased or decreased according to the amount of belief and faith worshippers had in him.

History: (Superman: The Man of Steel #3 (fb, BTS)) - The Mayan god Quetzalcoatl protected his worshippers and was in eternal struggle with his opposite, the god Tezcatlipoca. With the arrival of Cortez in America and the spread of Christianity Quetzalcoatl's powers faded and he slumbered under the ground.

(Superman: The Man of Steel #3) - Phobos didn't want Superman interfering in the War of the Gods or suspecting the Roman pantheon, so he awakened the Mayan god Quetzalcoatl and convinced him that Superman was his ancient enemy Tezcatlipoca. Quetzalcoatl eventually saw through the ruse, and Superman and he saved his worshippers in Tattamalia from the villain Cerberus. Bombings left the nation ablaze, but Quetzalcoatl expended all his energies to cause massive rains to save the nation, and then faded away.
