Powers: Like all members of her race Queen bee had wings and could fly, possessed superhuman strength and speed, and produced hypnotic pollen. Similar to bees Queen Bee saw into the ultraviolet spectrum, but was blind to red, and had a poor sense of smell. Queen Bee wore gauntlets that shot poisonous stingers. She used her magno-nuclear rod to control the magnetic field, command the drones of her planet as well as Earth bees, and to a lesser extent control humans. Her magno-nuclear rod could shrink humans and give them wings.

History: Queen Bee was ruler of the planet Korrl, wherea humanoid race had evolved from insects. Her life mission was to discover the elixer of immortality invented centuries ago on her planet by scientist Per Kazz. She sent her drones to Earth and attacked the Justice League of America in hopes of forcing them to retain the elixir for her. She eventually gained immortality, but found herself completely immobilized by the serum.

(Action Comics #562) - Queen Bee regained her immortality and found she could regain her mobility by absorbing magnetic energy from sentient beings. She came to Earth, created magnetic fields in Metropolis and drained many citizens of magnetic energy. Superman confronted her and she drained him, and the side-effect of temporarily magnetizing anything metallic on the targets person kept him immobilized. Bee hooked up with the Planeteer, whose magnetic powers gave her a constant source of power. She promised to make him her king, but only wanted to use him. Superman confronted them and defeated them with a belt that reversed the polarity of his body and negated their powers.

(JLA #34, 36-40) - Queen Bee joined Lex Luthor’s New Injustice Gang. They chose a time to strike when the JLA’s resources were spread thin, and during a Belle Reve prison riot Prometheus had minor crook Red Dart steal Lantern’s ring, and Prometheus tinkered with it before allowing Green Lantern to recover it. The Gang attacked the JLA Watchtower, getting the drop on the JLA because they entered via Prometheus’ Still Zone. They attacked the heroes and set off massive explosions that damaged the Watchtower. The fight went against the JLA, and as the doomsday weapon Mageddon approached Earth it put the Injustice Gang in its thrall to keep the heroes from saving Earth. Queen Bee summoned her army of drones and made a power base on Earth in New York City. Plastic Man, Wonder Woman and Big Barda infiltrated the hive and defeated her, sending her back to Hiveworld via Boom Tube. Her drones naturally followed her.

(Firestorm II #17) - Queen Bee became a leader of the criminal organization H.I.V.E. and was inducted into Luthor's Society. Luthor used the hero Firestorm and Gehenna to power a top-secret Brazilian site. Firestorm broke loose, and rescued Gehenna from her captivity. The heroes were beset by Black Adam, Parasite, Syonide, and the new Royal Flush Gang. The battle was joined by Queen Bee and the H.I.V.E., but they couldn’t stop Firestorm from blowing up the installation and escaping.
