PowersValence was a scientific genius and skilled inventor. His headquarters were equipped with a cauldron containing a chemical solvent, a spring-loaded net trap, a freezer, and a lightning generator.

History(Plastic Man (Quality) #33) - Professor Valence was a genius who made a plan to become Overlord of Crime. To that end he assembled a gang and had them rob warehouses on the waterfront, using movie projected criminals on a different warehouse to distract any potential witnesses. Plas was wise to them, but knew they didn’t have the brains to pull the stunt by themselves, and followed them back to their hideout and met Professor Valence. Valence was pleased to see Plas, knowing he’d have to eliminate the hero to become Overlord. He tried to melt Plas in a chemical solution, and when that failed froze him stiff. Woozy warmed up Plas with his body heat before Valence could shatter Plas with a hammer. Valence was about to use a lightning generator on the heroes when Plas knocked him out and sent him to jail.

Comments: Created by an unnamed writer and artist.

In the pre-Crisis DC Universe Valence lived on Earth-2. Valence, like most characters from the golden age Plastic Man stories, may or may not be a part of post-Crisis DC continuity.

Professor Valence was originally a Quality Comics character, which DC obtained the rights to in 1956.
