Powers: Pog's body was subjected to enginetics and plasmalterations, processes which made his body immune to the effects of aging. Cells from his body could be used to create litters of test-tube children.

History: (Saga of Swamp Thing #32 (fb)) - <millions of years ago> The planet the Lady was inhabited by numerous species of evolved animals that coexisted in peace and prosperity. A race of monkeys, The Loneliest Animals of All, eventually subjugated all the other species. Pog was among the animals selected to leave the Lady and find a new planet to inhabit and repopulate. The crew was subjected to scientific procedures that gave them powers that would aid them in their quest.

(Saga of Swamp Thing #32) - After countless failures to find a suitable planet Pogo and his crew landed in a Louisiana swamp. Pog thought that Louisiana looked like a great place to live until he met Swamp Thing. Swamp Thing showed Pog a group of humans eating meat, and Pog realized humanity would treat his friends no better than the Lonliest Animals did. With a heavy heart Pog left Earth to seek greener pastures.

Pog was Alan Moore's tribute to Walk Kelly's Pogo. Although he is never depicted without his space-suit, it's a fair assumption that Pog was a possum.
