Powers: Plasmus brought fiery death to anyone he touched, reducing them to a protoplasmic state.

History: Otto Von Furth was a mineworker in East Berlin when an unexpected cave-in trapped him and his fellow workers for several days. They had been mining highly radioactive radium, and everyone but Otto succumbed to radiation poisoning. Otto was rescued and taken to a local hospital, but he was soon kidnapped by ex-Nazi General Zahl. Zahl performed experiments on Otto’s radioactive body, resulting in Otto being mutated into a barely sentient being of protoplasm. Zahl dubbed him Plasmus, and brought him in as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil. Plasmus and the Brotherhood have opposed the New Teen Titans on numerous occasions.

(Adventures of Superman #523) - Conduit hired Neutron, Warp and Plasmus to kill Superman and Ma and Pa Kent. The villains engaged Superman in battle, and Neutron ran into Plasmus. Plasmus' acid touch destroyed Neutron's containment suit, causing him to explode and incinerating them both.

(Superman: Our Worlds at War Secret Files #1)-Plasmus is recruited into the Suicide Squad on a mission to battle invading aliens known as the Imperiex.

(Adventures of Superman #593) - Plasmus was released from Stryker's Island to be drafted into President Luthor's Suicide Squad, and they required a field test against a powerful superhuman. Manchester Black suggested Superman, and Luthor supported the choice. The Squad lured superman to Area 8, an abandoned military compound, and engaged him in combat. They were defeated by Superman, with Chemo being hurled into Earth's orbit. Luthor agreed with Manchester Black that they needed to recruit Mongul and free Doomsday to complete the Squad.

(Outsiders III #4 (BTS)) - The Outsiders III fought and defeated Plasmus during one of their early missions.

(Villains United #1) - Plasmus joined “Lex Luthor’s” Society.
