Powers: Pig-Iron had an organic steel body, and possessed superhuman strength and invulnerability. T fuel his superhuman metabolism he needed to eat constantly, but had the ability to digest virtually anything.

History: Peter was from the dimension of Earth-C, a world inhabited by intelligent animals. Peter was often at odds with his neigbor Wolfie, who wanted to swindle and/or eat him.

(Mystery In Space I #53) - Peter enjoyed his summer and tried to teach Wolfie how to have fun and be polite to others at the same time.

Peter got a job as a steelworker in Piggsburg, and was dumping limestone in a vat of molten steel when a meteor struck him and he fell into the vat, emerging as the super-powered Pig-Iron. He joined forces with several other animals struck by meteors and turned in superheroes as the Zoo Crew.

(Teen Titans III #30 (fb, BTS) - President Mallard Fillmore pressured Pig-Iron and the Zoo Crew into revealing their secret identities, but they refused. The team was driven underground, and later disbanded when Captain Carrot turned himself over to the authorities after killing Armordillo, who murdered Carrie Carrot.

(Teen Titans III #30, 31) -Little Cheese was murdered, and crumbs from a super-powered carrot were found at the scene, implicating Captain Carrot. Pig-Iron and the Zoo Crew reformed to find Cheese's murderer. American Eagle joined the Crew, and forced Captain Carrot out of retirement to clear his name. The Crew was led to Dark Alley, who was posing as Alley-Kat-Abra, and learned she's sold the Zoo Crew's secrets to president Fillmore. She killed Cheese to keep him quit after he found her out, and when Fastback learned what she did, and she sent him 100 years into the future. After Alley was arrested the Crew went into the future to rescue Fastback.

Earth-C was an alternate dimension, not a parallel Earth, and was not destroyed in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
