History: (Demon III #27) - Pat Buchanan ran as a Republican for the 1992 presidential primaries. The demon Etrigan, backed by conservative think-tank The Right-Wing Legacy Institute, also ran in the Republican Party presidential primaries. His platform of starting more wars shot up his approval rating with Republican voters, and his advisors told him to crash the Duke / Buchanan debate. Buchanan and former klansman Duke argued over which one of them was the real racist, although they both secretly felt they had a lot in common. Etrigan and his entourage arrived at the debate, and the demon pushed his way past police security, saying they couldn’t stand in the way of democracy. Etrigan was confronted by a large group of David Duke’s supporters, all neo-nazis and klansman, and ran roughshod over them. Etrigan stormed the stage, put Duke and Buchanan in painful wrestling holds, and made them say their policies were stupid.
