Principal Sherman ordered him to frighten Courtney Whitmore, a student who was interfering with the Dragon King's master plan. At the end of the school day he changed into Paintball and started using his destructive color-powers on the students in detention hall. Courtney slipped away from the chaos, and changed into Star-Spangled Kid II. S.T.R.I.P.E. arrived at Blue Valley High, and joined the Kid's fight against Paintball. The Kid used a mirror to reflect one of Paintball's color-blasts back at the villain. After being struck, nothing remained of Paintball except his goggles and a puddle of paint.
