History: (Batman #445)-Gregor was a protege of the Soviet assassin known as KGBeast, becoming a formidable killer for the NKVD and given the codename NKVDemon. After the KGBeast's apparent death, NKVDemon snapped and went into hiding. He believed that the Soviet government had abandoned his hero, and in retaliation he planned to kill ten officials who he thought of as traitors for supporting the policy of glasnost. The NKVDemon had already slain three of the officials when Batman II learned about him and went to the Soviet Union to stop him. After a long manhunt, Batman prevented the assassination of Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, and detective Nikita Krakov shot NKVDemon. The NKVDemon survived and went into hiding again.
