Powers: Ninhursag was an immortal goddess / demon, and could bestow demonic powers on others and birth monsters.

History: (El Diablo III #4 (fb)) - <circa 2000 BC> In ancient Mesopotamia Ninhursag was separated from her lover Chutu by the sky god Enlil to stop them from mating and producing a race of monsters that would end mankind.. Enlil accepted her fate, but Ninhursag swore vengeance, tormenting humanity with monsters of her own creation.

(El Diablo III #1, 3, 5, 6) - To reunite with her lover Ninhursag made mental patient Bob Olsen her avatar, and sent him after El Diablo, the avatar of Chutriel. Vorpal killed Chutriel's first host Lazarus Lane, and presented his head to Ninhursag, who instructed him to raise an army in Hell to kill the current El Diablo. Vorpal clashed with El Diablo, and during a battle with the Freedom Fighters Chutriel was separated from El Diablo, and Ninhursag dragged him to Hell. Before long Ninhursag told Chutriel she was expecting their first child. She gave birth to Ghatanothoa, who she wanted to unite Hell and Earth, but he turned against his mother, devouring her.
