History

(Starfire II #6-8) - Grayson arrived in Key West, and was surprised to see Starfire, who'd made Florida her new home. Grayson was after arms dealers, and found them on the same cruise ship Starfire was on with her date Sol Gomez. The dealers spotted Grayson, and a firefight erupted, with Starfire springing into action. She was overjoyed that he was alive, and after he said please she helped him catch the dealers, who were jetting away in a boat. They had a trigger for a weapon that could level a city block, and Grayson didn't want it falling in the wrong hands. Starfire solved his problem by blasting it over his objections that his people wanted to study it. He promised he had not faked his death lightly, and had done it to protect his loved ones. Starfire was overcome by emotion and kissed him. The people expecting the trigger were watching Starfire and Grayson from a helicopter and called in a hit. Starfire's energy friend she'd hatched from an egg found them and crashed their ride, so the heroes got them medical attention. Grayson thought he should take to Starfire about their kiss, but she didn't understand what he meant when he said his life was complicated and he didn't want to lead her on. They had breakfast, and hitmen started following them. They easily defeated the goons, and Grayson got the name of their employees by kicking one of the men he shot. Starfire understood the necessity of what he was doing, but still disliked it. Grayson said he had to tie up the loose strings on the case, and they agreed to meet again under less chaotic circumstances.
