Powers: As a revenant John Amon was a dead man who still possessed his oversoul and undersoul. Amon was immortal, but to preserve his immortality he had to periodically ritually sacrifice a victim who possessed both an oversoul and undersoul.

History: (iZombie #1) - Frederick Harris was in a car accident and his personality became radically altered, becoming abusive to his family. He ended up in the home of John Amon and his mate, the jaguar Ubasti. John Amon took pleasure in terrorizing him, and after getting rid of nosy trick-or-treaters he murdered him.

(iZombie #2, 3) - John cooked a steak for Ubasti, and told her he was surveilling Gwen Dylan, the woman who’d visited them trick-or-treating. She was a zombie who was investigating Frederick Harris death, and John told Ubasti that once Harris veered off the straight and narrow path he was on as a family man he no longer deserved to live, and he’d fulfilled a purpose with his death. Amon rubbed his bandages saying his treatment should last for some time to come, and invited Ubasti up to the bedroom. Later Gwen and Ellie spied on Amon’s house, hidden in the grass until Ellie got bored and decided to materialize inside the house. Gwen started to worry about how long Ellie was gone and forced her way in through the front door. John Amon and Ubasti greeted her, and John said there was much for them to discuss.
