Powers: Using a belt made of Nth metal Hawkgirl could fly at great speeds, and steered using artificial wings. The Nth metal also gave her enhanced strength and durability. She was a skilled fighter, well versed in hand-to-hand combat or armed combat using a number of ancient and medieval weaponry. Her primary weapon was a mace.

History: As a young woman Kendra attempted suicide, and nearly died. In her near-death state her body was inhabited by the soul of her ancestor, an ancestor who started life as Princess Chay-Ara and was later reincarnated as Hawkgirl Shiera Sanders among others. Due to the unusual mid-life reincarnation Kendra had little memory of her previous lives. After her parents died she was sent to live with her grandfather Speed Saunders. He gave her the Nth metal belt and wings that belonged to Hawkgirl, and trained her to be the new Hawkgirl. As Hawkgirl she rescued the Fate-Child from Mordru and joined the JSA.

(Day of Judgment #3, 4) - Hawkgirl and the JSA went to Fate's Tower, seeing him as the only one capable of dealing with Asmodel, who'd unleashed Hell on Earth. Fate appeared to them and told them Earth needed a doctor. Dr. Fate charged the soul of Green Lantern Hal Jordan with mystic energy, enabling him to become the Spectre's new host.

(JLA #39-41) - Hawkgirl was among the legion of heroes summoned by the JLA to quell worldwide outbreaks of warfare that were incited by Mageddon.

(JLA #58) - Hawkgirl was among the number of heroes defeated by the White Martians invading Earth. The Martians were eventually driven off by the JLA.

(Young Justice: Sins of Youth #1) - At Star-Spangled Kid’s insistence Hawkgirl and the JSA attended Young Justice’s Justice for All rally in Washington, as did Old Justice, the Titans and JLA. It was interrupted by Klarion, who magically de-aged Hawkgirl and most of the heroes into children. Doiby Dickles pulled out an extraterrestrial aging gun to return the heroes to their proper age, but another of Klarion’s spells intercepted his shot. The result was that the younger heroes present were aged to adulthood, but the other heroes remained children.

(Sins of Youth Secret Files #1, Sins of Youth: JLA, Jr. #1) - The de-aged Hawkgirl and JSA had a dispute with the de-aged JLA that resulted in them brawling for hours. Once they made up the JSA and Doiby Dickles went aboard the Steel Eagle so they could travel to Myrg so Doiby could find another aging gun to reverse Klarion's spell.

(Sins of Youth: Starwoman and the JSA (Junior Society) #1) - Hawkgirl, Doiby and the JSA battled Prince Marieb on Myrg, retrieved an aging gun, and returned to Earth.

(Young Justice: Sins of Youth #2) - Doiby tried using his new raygun on Hawkgirl and the other heroes affected by Klarion’s spell but it had no effect. Since the heroes’ ages were skewed by a combination of magic and science, they would need Klarion’s cooperation to undo the transformation. The heroes attacked Agenda’s headquarters in Alaska, where Superboy, Superman, Wonder Girl and Wonder Woman were being held hostage. The hq was defended by the Junior Injustice Society, but the heroes prevailed, forced the Agenda to flee, and freed the prisoners. They then forced Klarion to team with Doiby and return everyone to their proper age.

(JSA: Our Worlds at War #1) - During the Imperiex War Hawkgirl, the JSA and the JSA reserves were given a mission by President Luthor to disrupt Imperiex’s link to his ship’s power supply. The JSA not only cut off Imperiex from his power, but they managed to blow up his ship as well.

(Martian Manhunter II #18, 19) - The JSA invited Martian Manhunter to their hq for a training session, and Manhunter easily dispatched Hawkgirl and the other new JSAers. Kanto and a squad of Parademons attacked JSA hq. Kanto exposed Star-Spangled Kid to the living death, stealing her soul and leaving her body in a coma, and took the soul back to Apokolips. Martian Manhunter and the JSA went to Apokolips to reclaim the Kid’s soul, and allowed themselves to be captured by the Parademons. while Manhunter found Kanto, bested him in combat and learned that Darkseid was using the Kid’s soul in the D.E.M., a technoorganic device that bonded with the Source Wall an used her soul to relay information back to him about the Source. Manhunter freed the JSA and Dr. Fate linked his soul with the Kid, allowing him to pull her from the Source and reunite her with her body.

(JSA #28, 30) - Roulette forced Hawkgirl and the JSA to engage in deadly games of chance for the amusement of a crowd of supervillains. Hawkgirl was held captive with a vial of antidote around her neck, and Hawkman and Sand were injected with a poison so that they would be forced to race against each other to rescue Hawkgirl and get the antidote. Sand freed Hawkgirl, then the entire JSA wrecked Roulette’s House, so she teleported them back to JSA hq with a promise that they would play in her games again.

(JSA #31) - Hawkman and Sand argued about Sand kissing Hawkgirl, so Hawkgirl made it clear she wasn’t going to date either one of them, and told them to grow up and stop bickering with each other.

(JSA #32) - Hawkgirl and the JSA welcomed Johnny Thunder to JSA hq, he claimed to have had a miraculous recovery from Alzheimer’s. In truth it was the Ultra-Humanite in possession of Thunder’s body.

(JSA #35-37) - The Ultra-Humanite used Johnny Thunder’s Thunderbolt to conquer the world, and imprisoned Hawkgirl and virtually every superhuman on Earth in stasis tubes, only reviving them when he needed mind-controlled slaves to serve in his personal guard the Thunderfront. Hawkgirl served as a member of the Thunderfront and tried to keep Wildcat and Dr. Fate from escaping from the Humanite, but failed. The JSA later defeated the Humanite and freed the Thunderfront from his control. Afterwards Hawkgirl and the JSA attended the funeral of Johnny Thunder, whose body gave out after he was freed from the Humanite’s control.

(Hawkman IV #1-4) - Hawkgirl was cleaning out her NY apartment when she discovered a note addressed to her parents warning them they were in terrible danger if they didn't stop pursuing a lost exhibit from the Stonechat Museum. Hawkgirl had been told by Speed Saunders that her parents murders were the result of a random, senseless break-in, but she began to question that story. She tracked down Speed and asked him if he was still keeping the truths from her. He assured her he wasn't and advised her to ask Hawkman for help in finding her parents killer, but she absolutely refused to have anything to do with him. Against her wishes he called Hawkman and told him the situation. Hawkman found Hawkgirl at the Stonechat Museum questioning curator Oliver Evans. Evans didn't know her, and was not in the mood to be helpful, but Hawkman vouched for her. The note to her parents was from Evans' son Danny, who was in India pursuing the Third Eye of Shiva for the museum. With that information they left, but Hawkgirl suspected Hawkman was interfering in her business because he was still trying to win her love. They were attacked by Bloque, a superhuman hit man hired by collector Kristopher Renard Roderic, who was also pursuing the Eye of Shiva. The heroes easily dispatched the villain, and Hawkman told Hawkgirl she had great potential as a hero, and he offered to train her as well as find her parent's murderer. She reluctantly agreed as long as their relationship remained completely platonic. Hawkman showed her his collection of artifacts from their past lives together, even though she remembered none of it, and led her to the Brontadon, a Thanagaran spacecraft brought to Earth by Hawkman Katar Hol. He intended to use it to fly to India, but the controls were damaged. Some of Hawkgirl's memories flooded back, and she was able to repair the ship. They flew to India and rendezvoused with Danny's guide Jayita Sahir, who led them to the location of an underground temple where the Eye was supposedly buried. They found Danny, who was being attacked by Roderic's goons Copperhead, Shadow Thief and Tigress. They clashed, and the battle went in the Hawks favor. Roderic had the local military in his pocket, and they phoned him to tell him the Hawks had almost reached the Eye, so he ordered a missile strike. The Hawks and their foes survived, but the temple was blasted open, and the Eye opened up a dimensional portal to the Battlelands, home of Shiva's children, taking Hawkman, Shadow Thief and Copperhead into the other dimension. On Earth Tigress pried the Eye loose from the statue of Shiva it was attached to and fled. Hawkgirl and Danny were confronted by the Indian military, but she managed to fly off with Danny in tow. She begged him to tell her anything he knew about her parents, and he was shocked to learn that she was Kendra Saunders. He told her he'd never sent a note telling her parents they were in danger, and promised to discuss the matter further when they returned home. They tracked down Tigress, recovered the Eye, and used it to open up a portal that brought Hawkman back to Earth. With Roderic foiled the Hawks and Danny returned to St. Roch.

(Hawkman IV #5, 6) - Carter Hall and Kendra accepted positions as field agents of Stonechat. Kendra learned that her parents were lured to a hotel room to be murdered, but when Hawkman and Hawkgirl investigated the hotel no one could provide any details. Hawkgirl figured that if she was, begrudgingly, staying on in St. Roch she should explore, and the heroes attended a carnival. One of the carnival kings, celebrity chef Christopher Cook was shot with an arrow, and when the Hawkman scourind the rooftops he discovered Green Arrow, and they scrapped before Hawkman gave Arrow a chance to explain that a copycat had been killing people in St. Roch while dressed as him. They agreed to work with each other for the good of the city, and when Hawkman said Hawkgirl would be joining them Arrow told him he was acting like a lovesick puppy keeping a girl who wasn't interested in him around as a momento of his past. Arrow said he knew about obsession, not love, and they almost came to blows again. Green Arrow laid out what he knew, years ago he was part of an investment firm that bought up land outside St. Roch, and the other investors were being murdered by someone disguised as Green Arrow. The only surviving investors were Arrow, Alfred Sleissenger, a casino owner, and a mysterious man named Ludlow. Hawkman created a distraction to break into Sleissenger's casino, and when Hawkgirl and Arrow found the owner he'd been bound by Thomas Ludow, Alias The Spider, a villain with a penchant for archery, who'd been made an offer on the St. Roch land and didn't want to share. The heroes fought Spider in a wild battle, and Green Arrow was attracted to how headstrong and brave Hawkgirl proved herself to be. At one point Hawkman took an arrow for Hawkgirl, and Spider managed to escape, but not before Green Arrow struck him in his aiming eye with an arrow. Arrow assured his allies that Ludlow's archery days were over. With the case ended Hawkman told Arrow to clear out of St. Roch. Arrow told him he was stubborn, and even though they weren't friends, as co-workers he advised him to let his hair down a little and appreciate his human side. Hawkman actually took his advice, asking out Jayita Sahir on a date, to the shock of Kendra.

(JSA #39) - Power Girl told Hawkgirl and Star-Spangled Kid about a recent adventure beating the daylights out obsessed supervillain Da’ Bomb, and gave them a bit of advice. Power Girl had qualities that made people think of her as a witch even though those same qualities would have been accepted in a male hero, but she told them to always be true to yourself and show people the type of woman you are, even if it’s unpopular.

(JLA #69, 71, 73, 75) - With the JLA trapped in the year 1,000 B.C., Batman's contingency plan for a new JLA was activated. JLA-Spheres located Hawkgirl and other heroes hand picked by Batman and brought them to the Watchtower, where a video recording of Batman told them they would have to carry on as Earth's protectors in case the JLA never returned. Hawkgirl liked the JSA, but couldn't turn down the chance to be a JLAer. The team was instructed not to go looking for the missing JLA, and were kept busy by a worldwide drought. The drought caused tectonic plate shifting in Japan, resulting in earthquakes and lava flows that the JLA had to deal with. Atom discovered that Earth's water was being drained to Atlantis. He got a video feed of Atlantis, where the team saw a skeleton dressed in Superman’s costume. Atom coordinated the JLA’s return to Atlantis, where they found Gamemnae, an ancient Atlantean sorceress bent on bringing new glory to her land. They warned her that the waters shifted to Atlantis threatened to pull Earth from its orbit, but she refused to listen. The JLA couldn’t defeat her, and President Luthor ordered muon bombs to be dropped on Atlantis to destroy the sorceress. The bombs had no effect on her, and the JLA was brought to safety by a ring-image of Green Lantern, who explained that the JLA in ancient Atlantis made a plan in the past to save the future. Manitou Raven, the sole survivor of the Ancients, the superteam Gamemnae created and betrayed, had preserved the souls of the JLA that Gamemnae killed in 1,000 B.C. He tricked her into resurrecting them, and then Zatanna and members of the new JLA went to 1,000 B.C. where they freed Aquaman, who’d been turned into a water elemental and imprisoned in a pool by Gamemnae. Aquaman merged with the ocean, sank Gamemnae’s Atlantis, and Zatanna cast a spell that returned Aquaman’s Atlantis to the present day. Gamemnae, weakened by this change in history, was easy prey for Manitou Raven, and he sacrificed himself to destroy her.

(JLA #76) - Batman’s JLA disbanded, and Hawkgirl returned to the JSA.

(JSA #40) - Hawkgirl and the JSA secured the perimeter of Belle Reve prison while Dr. Mid-Nite tried to save the life of the deathly ill Shadower at the demand of the new Shadower, who was holding Kenton Elementary School hostage. Mid-Nite failed, but Captain Marvel and Star-Spangled Kid freed the hostages.

(JSA #41, 42) - Hourman told Hawkgirl and the JSA he had a premonition of Black Barax attacking Tylerco to prevent them from performing an experiment that would prove the existence of tachyons. The JSA fought Barax at Tylerco, but he succeeded in wrecking Tylerco’s experiment. Captain Marvel’s lightning caused Barax’s time machine to malfunction, and just as Marvel, Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific boarded the ship they found themselves taken into the past. Thery found themselves in the year 1944, but a time-rift sucked in Marvel and took him to ancient Egypt. Hawkgirl and Terrific met the original Mr. Terrific, and they helped the Freedom Fighters in a battle against Barax. After they forced Barax to return to his own time Human Bomb helped Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific reactivate Barax’ time-cube so they could rescue Marvel from the past. When they arrived in Egypt they were confronted by Vandal Savage and the Metamorph.

(JSA #43, 44) –<Egypt, 15th Dynasty> Hawkgirl and Terrific battled Vandal Savage and Ahk-Ton, but were carried away from the fight by Captain Marvel. Marvel brought them to Khufu’s temple of Karnak and informed them that Vandal was trying to conquer Egypt. The heroes prepared Karnak for the forthcoming siege, and Hawkgirl got an opportunity to tak to Chay-Ara, who was the first incarnation of her soul. In an attempt to understand her connection with Hawkman, Hawkgirl talked to her about how Chay-Ara connected with and fell in love with Khufu. Savage, Ank-Ton and an army of sand-homunculi waged war on Karnak, and the battle went badly for the heroers until Nabu petitioned Ra for help. Ra helped the heroes vanquish Savage and his army, but Hawkgirl and the JSAers still had to find a way back to their own time. Nabu put them in sarcophagi and put them in a magical sleep during which they didn’t age. When they woke up it was the present day, and they were released form the sarcophagi by Black Adam.

(JLA / JSA: Virtue and Vice) - Hawkgirl attended the first annual JLA and JSA Thanksgiving celebration when the teams were called to Arusha, Tanzania to stop Doctor Bedlam from disrupting the Pan-African Conference on World Hunger. The JLA and JSA defeated Bedlam, but the attack was a ruse on the part of Johnny Sorrow to give him the opportunity to have Despero possess President Luthor, who was at the conference, and to have the Seven Deadly Sins possess members of the JLA and JSA. The possessed heroes destroyed JSA headquarters and incapacitated the unpossessed JLA and JSA members. Hawkgirl was amng the heroes badly injured during the battle, but was cared for by Dr. Mid-Nite. By the time she recovered the JLA and JSA had returned the Sins to captivity in the Rock of Eternity, defeated Johnny Sorrow and freed Luthor from Despero. Hawkgirl attended the banquet celebrating the opening of the new JSA headquarters graciously built by President Luthor.

(JSA #45) - Hawkgirl and the JSA provided security for the trial of Kobra for terrorist acts, which was necessary because hundreds of Kobra cultists were swarming the district court building where Kobra was being tried. Under Kobra’s orders the cultists threatened to activate bombs implanted in their bodies, killing themselves. Rather than allow the bloodshed the judge and Director Bones of the D.E.O. agreed to let Kobra go free for the time being. Black Adam and Atom-Smasher were outraged, and both agreed Kobra should have been killed for his crimes then and there. Hawkgirl and the rest of the JSA vehemently opposed their viewpoint, so the duo quit the team. “Dr. Fate” then removed his helmet and revealed he was really the JSA’s nemesis Mordru.

(JSA #46, 47) - Mordru tore into Hawkgirl and the JSA, and Obsidian soon arrived to cause further chaos. The JSA were on the verge of losing when Mordru opened a gate to Dr. Fate’s Tower and left with Obsidian, threatening to unravel the universe very soon.

(JSA #49-51) - Hawkgirl and the JSA battled Kobra cultists who were launching terrorists attacks against Philadelphia after the Princes of Darkness pulled the moon from its’ orbit and Kobra declared the event signaled the impending end of the world. Dr. Fate sent a psychic transmission asking Hawkgirl, Dove and Power Girl to come to Gemworld and free the soul of Arion, whose body Mordu was using to exist on the physical plane. JSA reservist Dr. Occult opened a portal to Gemworld, and the heroines crossed over. The heroines rescued Arion’s soul from Flaw and Child and then returned to Earth. Arion’s soul passed through Mordu’s form before passing into the afterlife, weakening Mordru to the point that he could no longer keep Dr. Fate imprisoned in Fate’s amulet. Fate imprisoned Mordru in the Rock of Eternity.

(JSA #54) - Hawkgirl, the JSA and JLA celebrated Thanksgiving at JSA hq. Kulak and the Warlord of Ys ruined the Thanksgiving meal, but were quickly defeated by the heroes. The JLA and JSA settled for ordering out, and had pizza for Thanksgiving.

(Hawkman IV #23)- Hawkgirl was concerned that Hawkman spent all his time along, hunting. She convinced him to attend a “birthday party,” figuring he must have been born on that day during one of his past lives, celebrated at Shellys with the JSA. The celebration ended when they heard a news report about Black Adam’s conquest of Kahndaq.

(JSA #57, Hawkman IV #24, JSA #58, Hawkman IV #25) - Hawkgirl and the JSA traveled to Kahndaq in the Steel Eagle with the intentionof taking the members of Black Adam’s superteam, their former allies, back home before Adam completely turned them into villains. Black Adam destroyed the Steel Eagle, and the team was scattered across Kahndaq. Northwind and the Feitherians confronted Hawkgirl and the JSAers. The fight ended when Dr. Fate transformed Northwind and the Feitherians into hawks. Nabu took control of Dr. Fate, and turned Northwind and his fellows back to normal, enabling them to resume fighting. Hawkgirl and the JSAers also had to fight Adam’s teammates Nemesis and Eclipso (Alex Montez). The true Eclipso took over Alex Montez, killing Nemesis and himself. Hawkgirl and the JSA fought Black Adam to a standstill. Atom-Smasher and Captain Marvel brokered a peace pact between Black Adam and the JSA. The JSA promised not to interfere further in Kahndaq as long as Black Adam and his team remained within the country’s orders and didn’t try conquering any surrounding nations. Back in the U.S. Hawkman agreed to step down from the JSA for the time being, and Hawkgirl and Hawkman returned to St. Roch.

(JSA #59) - Hawkgirl and Green Lantern informed the parents of Alex Montez about his death. Hawkgirl lied and told them Alex died a hero, and Lantern later chastised her for it. She felt this situation called for a light touch. The time-traveling Per Degaton appeared to Hawkgirl and told him he’d just come back from the future after witnessing her death. He’s traveled the past and seen every one of her deaths and reincarnations, and vowed that her next death would be more horrific than ony of these. Degaton hinted that she would one day marry Hawkman, but die soon after, and then he vanished into the timestream.

(JSA #60-62) - Hawkgirl and some other JSAers accompanied a tour of school children through the JSA Museum. Afterwards Hawkgirl and the others responded to a crime scene, an unknown shooter had killed Dr. Mid-Nite’s assistant Ice Sickle. The killer turned out to be Louis Snipe, one of the dead men the Spirit King rose from Hell to destroy the JSA. Hawkgirl and the JSA fought the army of the dead, but knew it was the Spectre who had to return them to Hell. Spectre banished the undead army and destroyed the Spirit King.

(JSA #63, 64) - Sand’s astral self was trapped in the Dreaming, and had to be reunited with his body to restore him, so Dr. Fate sent Hawkgirl and other JSAers to the Dreaming. They encountered Sand, who’d come under the control of Brute and Glob and become their new Sandman. Sand attacked the heroes, but Dr. Fate disposed of Brute and Glob, allowing Brainwave to undo the brainwashing they did on him. Sand resisted, but the sight of Hawkgirl, who he cared about far more than she realized, eased the process along. Hawkgirl and the JSA left the Dreaming and Sand’s mind was restored to his body.

(Superman / Batman #13) - Hawkgirl and the JSA were among the heroes invited to Paradise Island to welcome Superman's cousin Supergirl into the superhero community.

(JSA #65) - Hawkgirl and the JSA defeated Solomon Grundy, who was running amok in Central Park.

(JSA #67) - After Sue Dibny’s death Hawkgirl wanted to spend time with family, so she and Sand went to East Asia to see Speed Saunders.

(JSA #72) - Rip Hunter brought Hawkgirl and Power Girl to the year 1951 so they could help the JSA and Justice Society of America defeat Per Degaton, who was trying to alter history to end the Justice Society legacy. After Degaton was defeated Rip Hunter ferried the JSA back to the present.

(Green Lantern: Rebirth #4, 6) - Ganthet summoned Hawkgirl and the JSA and a number of other heroes to battle Parallax, who’d completely taken over Hal Jordan. They weakened him enough for the Spectre to separate Hal from Parallax, allowing Hal’s soul to return to his body, resurrecting him. Parallax possessed Ganthet, spreading fear throughout the world, and only Hal was able to stop him.

(DC Countdown #1) - When someone broke into a Kord warehouse and stole the kryptonite stored there Oracle called in favors to Hawkgirl, the JSA, and a number of other heroes to investigate the crime scene, but the investigation turned up nothing.

(JSA #73-75) - Atom-Smasher asked to be readmitted to the JSA so Hawkgirl and the JSA had a meeting and a vote on it. Once they’d voted, Atom-Smasher was already gone back to Khanaq. Captain Marvel told the JSA that Jean Loring/Eclipso and the Spectre-Force were attacking Khandaq, and their help was needed there. The heroes had little luck battling Eclipso and the Spectre, and Black Adam resented their presence and began fighting them. Spectre only stopped his attacks when Atom-Smasher told him he’d accept the Spectre’s judgment, and allowed the Spectre to stop his heart. Black Adam restarted his heart with his magic lightning, and the JSA took Atom back to America after warning Black Adam to stay far away from him in the future.

(JLA #116, 117) - Former members of the Secret Society of Super-Villains who’d had their minds altered years ago by the JLA because they knew the secret identities of everone in the JLA had their memories restored by Despero. (52 / WWIII Part Four: United We Stand #1) <Week 50, Day 7> Black Adam arrived in China, and prepared to destroy the entire country. He defeated China's superhero team the Great Ten before China allowed Hawkgirl and the American superhero community to square off against him. Black Adam was a god with nothing left to lose, and each punch he threw was intended to kill. His savagery was winning the day until Martian Manhunter reappeared and flooded his brain with his own loss, the death of the entire Martian species. Black Adam was distracted long enough for Captain Marvel to hurl a Shazam bolt at him. Theo Adam was powerless, and left with amnesia. He staggered away unnoticed from the end of WWIII.

(Justice League of America II #3-6) - Hawkgirl investigated a fight between Black Lightning and Trident. When the heroes found a Starro on Trident's neck they teamed up and brought Trident to Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.Solomon Grundy was using Starros to create a group on unquestioning supervillain henchmen to assemble a new Amazo that would serve as Grundy's new immortal body. The heroes went to the Rocky Mountains and confronted Grundy and Professor Ivo, who had transformed Red Tornado's android body into the new Amazo. Grundy allowed Amazo to fly off, and told the heroes they needed his help to beat Amazo, and proposed that after helping them defeat the android they should fight over who got possession of him. Amazo still retained vestiges of Red Tornado's memories, and going on pure instinct he went to the house of Tornado's wife Kathy and his daughter Traya. He frightened them, and the heroes caught up to him and attacked. Amazo used his Parasite powers to drain the League of their powers, but they still managed to rupture the control rods that kept his powers in check. His body self-destructed, and after destroying Grundy the League stripped out the Amazo software and returned Red Tornado to his proper body.

(Justice League of America II #7) - Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman decided to form their new Justice League of America from Hawkgirl and the other heroes present during their battle with Solomon Grundy. They built a Hall of Justice in Washington, D.C. on the former site of JSA hq. The Hall also had a teleport to the new JLA Satellite. The new members all accepted their invitations, and the group took a team photo.

(Green Lantern IV #15-17) - Hawkgirl and the Justice League traveled to Russia to bring Green Lantern Hal Jordan back to America. Hal had violated the Freedom of Powers Act, which forbid superheroes from operating outside American soil, so they told Hal he was coming with them for his own good. Alan Scott was also present, and demanded an explanation, so Hal told him that his friend Cowgirl had been captured by Chechnyan terrorists. The League held off the Rocket Red Brigade, who wanted to arrest Hal, while Hal finished his rescue mission. Alan Scott used his Checkmate connections to clear Hal, but Russia demanded a formal apology from the League to the Rocket Red Brigade.

(Green Arrow III #75) - Hawkgirl and the Justice League arrived in Star City in time to save Green Arrow and his family from being killed by Deathstroke and Drakon. (Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Cyborg-Superman #1) - The Sinestro Corps planned their invasion of Earth, and intended to take out the JlofA. Cyborg-Superman and his Manhunters disabled the JlofA satellite’s defense systems, rendering the satellite inoperable, and the Sinestro Corps battered Hawkgirl and the League, allowing their Warworld to enter Earth’s orbit.

(Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman-Prime #1) - An army of Earth’s heroes, including Hawkgirl and the Justice Leage appeared to take Superboy down during the Sinestro Corps invasion of Earth. The heroes focused on wrecking his armor, because after a year on Oa, and away from a yellow sun his Kryptonian body still wasn’t at full strength, and his armor collected sunlight. Superboy bragged that once the sun rose on Earth he’d be at full power. Superboy was battered by Wonder Girl and Wonder Woman, who blamed him for Superboy’s death, as well as Supergirl and Power Girl, who blamed him for the death of the Superman of Earth-2. As the fight went against him, Superboy broke down in tears. He tried to wipe them away, saying that it was impossible for boys to cry, and then whining that no one ever thanked him for sacrificing his Earth to save the multiverse. The battle lasted until dawn, and he flew into the sunrise. As he achieved full power he declared himself the one, true Superman. The Guardians arrived with Sodam Yat, the new Ion, and pitted him against Superboy-Prime.

(Green Lantern IV #25) - The Sinestro Corps War raged on Earth, and while Hawkgirl and an army of superheroes battled the Corps the Anti-Monitor prepared to unleash an anti-matter wave to destroy Earth. With Earth’s destruction, the entire 52 would fall, and he would once again rule all that was. The GLC ruptured the heart of Anti-Monitor’s Warworld, the Sinestro Corps central power battery, and created a shield around Warworld and the Monitor. The ensuing blast nearly destroyed the Anti-Monitor, and he was finished off by Superman-Prime, who betrayed him for having destroyed his home, Earth-Prime. GL Hal Jordan defeated Sinestro in personal combat, and the Sinestro Corps, lacking any leadership, fled Earth. The heroes rejoiced and began rebuilding the damage the Sinestro Corps did.
