Base of Operations: Mobile throughout the universe

First Appearance: Green Lantern II #11 (March, 1962)

History: <millennia ago> The Guardians of the Universe wanted to establish law and order throughout the universe, but their first attempt at doing so using an android army called the Manhunters proved disastrous. The Guardians then formed the Green Lantern Corps, an organization of sentient beings from around the universe chosen for their fearlessness and honesty with a standing membership set at 3,600. Each Corps member was given a power ring that could do virtually anything its' owner could think of and was powered by a central power battery on the Guardian's homeworld Oa. Each Corps member was assigned a sector of space to patrol and keep safe from all evil forces.

(Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn #4 (fb)) - The Guardians sent the Green Lantern Corps to drive the warfaring Tchk-Tchkll back to their home planet, then had the Corps erect an energy shield around their planet, derailing any future plans of conquest. The Tchk-Tchkll hated the Guardians for this and created the gestalt entity Legion to destroy them.

(Adventures of Superman #436(fb)) - <30 years ago> The Guardians sent the Corps to prevent the Manhunters from intercepting a Kryptonian birthing matrix containing Kal-El that was heading towards Earth. The acquisition of the last Kryptonian would tip the balance between the Manhunters conflict with the Guardians, and the Corps fought valiantly. They were taken down by the Manhunters, but prevented them from getting the matrix.

(Secret Origins of Super-Villains 80-Page Giant #1 (fb)) - Green Lantern Prohl Gosgotha was fatally wounded by a Qward Weaponer, and after Sinestro used Prohl’s power ring to defeat the Weaponer he was made a member of the Green Lantern Corps by Guardian Ganthet.

(Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn #4-6) - Oa; The Green Lantern Corps welcomed their newest member, Hal Jordan of Earth. The Corps defended Oa against an attack by Legion, resulting in the death of several Lanterns, including Khen-To. The Corps failed to prevent Legion from reaching the inner sanctum of the Guardians of the Universe, but Hal Jordan defeated Legion before he could harm the Guardians.

(Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn 2 #4, 6) - The Green Lantern Corps put down a revolt on Korugar. They learned from the mob's leader Katma-Tui that they were rebelling against Green Lantern Sinestro's tyrannical rule of the planet. The Guardians put Sinestro on trial for abusing his power, and the Corps attended the proceedings. The Corps had never in their history had one of their own turn to the dark side. The Guardians found Sinestro guilty of abusing his power and banished him to Qward, and appointed Katma-Tui the new Lantern of Korugar.

(Green Lantern III #100) - The Corps helped Green Lantern Hal Jordan and time-traveling GL Kyle Rayner defeat Sinestro and prevented him from setting an asteroid on a collision course with Oa.

(Green Lantern II #127) - The Guardians contacted the Corps after the Weaponers of Qward invaded Oa and held the Guardians captive, intending to use their immortality to construct the ultimate weapon. The Weaponers erected a yellow vortex that prevented most of the Corps from reaching Oa, but one member sacrificed his life to release Hal Jordan and the Guardians. Sinestro turned against the Weaponers when they revealed his usefulness to them was at an end, so he teamed with Hal to destroy the yellow vortex. Once on Oa the Corps utterly defeated the Weaponers. A number of Lanterns were lost, and Hal said it was a time for mourning.

The Guardians retired from commanding the Corps, but advised the Corps to keep a close eye on Earth, whose destiny would affect the whole universe.

Ex-Corps member Sinestro assaulted Oa and attacked the central power battery. He was defeated by Green Lantern II, but the battery was damaged, and the resulting backlash destroyed all but four of the Corps power rings. G'nort, Guy Gardner, Green Lantern II, and Ch'p were the only Corps members left who had functioning power rings.

(Adventures of Superman #430 (add to other issue summary) - Superman fought alongside the Corps.

(Green Lantern III #22-24) - Hal Jordan , Brik, Kworri and Aa rescued Star Sapphire from the Tebans. Hal sent Kworri home to Dryad, his unthinking obedience made him a poor probational Lantern, and took Aa off probie status and made him a full Green Lantern. As the Lanterns were bringing Sapphire to Oa she awoke and attacked them. The entire Corps was called in to defeat her. The Corps also defeated her ally Flicker, who wanted to force the Corps members to fight for him as mercenaries, and took Kreon of the Tebans into custody. On Oa appointed G'nort, Kreon and Tomar-Tu the last three new Green Lanterns.

(Green Lantern III #25) - The Corps were on hand to watch Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner fight it out to determine who would be Earth's Green Lantern. The Corps held the Justice League back from interfering, but seeing the toll Hal and Guy's battle was taking on New York City they demanded they change the nature of the fight or take it to space. Hal and Guy fought man to man without power rings. Hal won, and the Corps celebrated.

(Green Lantern III #34, 35) - The Guardians called the Corps to Oa to defend the Guardians against Entropy. Entropy made the Corps question the Guardians, so Ganthet decided to rally them by revealing the final goal of the Guardians. Krona's terrible experiment ages ago used up a billion years of the universe's usable energy. Because of this, when the current universe collapsed it would not be able to create a new singularity, and from there a new universe. By creating a universe of order the Guardians hoped to preserve enough usable energy to one day ensure that a new universe would emerge from the old. With a new purpose the GLC defeated Entropy, preserving the Guardians' universe of order. The Guardians gave the Corps their new mission, each member must recruit twelve new Corps members. AA quit the Corps, and the Guardians replaced him with Percival of the Little Folk.

(Green Lantern III #45) - The Darkstars tried to prevent the GLC from interfering with the Triarch, but the Corps' experience working as a team helped them defeat the Darkstars. As the Corps were about to deal with the Guardians, L.E.G.I.O.N. called in a fleet of ships to confront them.

(Green Lantern III #49) - Hal Jordan went renegade after Coast City was destroyed, and sought to drain the central power battery. The Guardians put a number of Lanterns in his path, including Ke'Haan, Laira, Jack T. Chance, Hannu, Graf Toren, Kreon, Boodikka, Tomar-Tu and Kilowog, all of whom were maimed or seemingly killed by Hal. Hal absorbed the central power battery, depowering all the power rings in existence but one, and effectively disbanding the Green Lantern Corps.

(Guy Gardner: Warrior #20) - Guy Gardner and Green Lantern Alan Scott wanted to learn why Green Lanterns were turning up dead and stripped of their power rings, so Guy recruited his Justice League America teammates to travel to Oa. Approaching Oa they spotted several dead Green Lanterns, including Chaselon and Graf Toren, who was being put on a pyre by his old ally Probert. On Oa the heroes were attacked by power constructs and confronted by the source of the carnage, the power-mad Hal Jordan, who easily defeated them.

(Day of Judgment #4) - The soul of Green Lantern Hal Jordan summoned a band of deceased Corps members to help him fight and weaken Asmodel /Spectre. The attack was successful, and Hal took the Spectre-Force away from Asmodel, becoming the new host of the spirit of vengeance.

(Green Lantern IV #4) - Following the resurrection of Hal Jordan and the defeat of Parallax the Guardians were reforming the GLC, sending rings to the 3,600 sectors of space and bringing back recruits to Oa, and they chose Kilowog to train the new generation of Lanterns. Former ring-bearers Brokk and Larvox returned to action, but the Guardians decided most of their recruits would be new blood. Hal Jordan visited Kilowog and wanted to know what the Guardians wanted from him, and Kilowog admitted that they didn’t need his involvement aside from continuing to patrol his old sector. New recruits Bareer Wot, B’dg, Grumb, and Lok Neboora were taken aback because Hal was an Earthman, and Hal realized they had no idea he’d destroyed the last GLC. Kilowog reminded him that the universe was a big place, and in the big picture Hal wasn’t that important. Hal told him he could live with that. He had a mock combat with Kilowog for the new recruits until he was recalled to Earth on a mission.

(Green Lantern IV #6) - The Corps dispatched Targot and Venizz to take the Gremlins into custody from Hal Jordan. The Gremlins lived to tweak the evolutionary process of different alien races, and both the new recruits had previous bad experiences with them.

(Green Lantern IV #7) - The Corps were present on Oa when Hal delivered Despero for prosecution for breaking over seven hundred laws in the Book of Oa. John Stewart warned Hal that Mongul had arrived in his space sector looking to conquer Earth.

(Green Lantern IV #9) - Hal went to Oa to replace his damaged power battery, and Salaak groaned that the cost of a power battery was over 170 million Earth dollars. He took Hal aside, and warned him that stories of his time as Parallax were spreading among the new recruits, and they feared and disliked him, so he should watch his back. At that moment several Lanterns passed the pair and looked on Hal with disgust.

(Green Lantern IV #11-13) - Tomar-Tu escaped the Manhunters and piloted a ship towards Earth, crash-landing at Edwards Air Force base. The Corps ministered to his injuries, and Hal hoped that the other Lanterns he seemingly killed were still alive. Hal and Guy ate in the GLC messhall, and Hal reflected that Guy was the first to forgive him for his actions as Parallax. Turytt and several GLC rookies made it clear that they thought Hal was a traitor who deserved to die. Guy exacerbated the situation and a brawl erupted that Kilowog had to break up. Hal did feel tremendous guilt over his actions, and petitioned the Guardians to go to Biot, hoping to find the other Lanterns he supposedly killed alive. They told him Biot was outside their jurisdiction, and that they’d rather not wake the dormant Manhunters. They also pointed out that Hal was too emotionally involved to go on the mission, so they denied him. Hal went against their orders, taking Guy with him and battling the Manhunters. He found many other Lanterns he assumed dead at his hand in the Manhunters clutches, and met the Manhunters new leader, Cyborg-Superman. Cyborg and the Manhunters took down Guy, and used him as yet another Lantern to be incorporated into the Highmaster units. He tried to use nanotech Willhunters to subdue Hal, but Hal fought them off and revived the Lanterns he thought he’d killed. He convinced them he was on their side, and they learned of the presence of more Corps members taken by the Manhunters for information and a connection to the Central Power Battery, including Relok Hag, Lashorr and Arisia. Cyborg unleashed his Highmasters on the Lanterns, killing Kreon in the battle, and as the Lost Lanterns fought back Hal concentrated on freeing Arisia. She was overjoyed to be alive and reunited with Hal. She always had faith Hal was never truly evil, and that he’d return. Cyborg told Hal his connection to Oa let him see the things the Guardians were hiding from him, things that would change everything. He also claimed that the Guardians reinstated him so quickly because he taught a moral lesson, question the Guardians and you will lose everything you hold dear. Hal and Arisia took over a Highmaster unit and used it to destroy Biot and the Manhunters, although Hal was positive the Cyborg could have survived. The Lost Lanterns were returned to Oa, and they told Hal they were grateful that he’d saved them, but that didn’t change the past, and they should steet clear of each other. Hal was forced to meet with the Guardians for disobeying a direct command, and Guy covered for him, because as a member of the honor guard he wouldn't be expelled from the Corps.

(Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1) - Hal Jordan was investigating the newly formed Sinestro Corps, and recruited the JlofA to help him track down leads. They confronted Zoom, a former Society teammate of Sinestro, but he had no information for them and managed to flee. Green Lantern admitted that there was little evidence of the Corps presence on Earth at the present. Ion found a Sinestro Corps ring in Space Sector 424, and brought it back to Oa. Hal, Guy, John Stewart and Ion discussed it when the ring activated and kidnapped Ion to the antimatter universe, where Sinestro stripped the Ion willpower entity from Kyle and infected him with Parallax. On Oa the Sinestro Corps launched an assault, resulting in the deaths of many GLs, including Cundiff Cood and Diamalon. The Sinestro Corps managed to free Cyborg Superman and Superboy Prime from their sciencells, and brought them into their ranks.

(Green Lantern IV #21) - The Corps began picking up the pieces after the assault on Oa, and Salakk realized that the Sinestro Corps were picking off Lanterns across the universe, leaving over 50 dead.  Hal Jordan tried to attend to the wounded Tomar-Tu, and the Lost Lanterns told him to back off. They told him they’d see one of their own die before asking him or any other human for help. Kilowog stepped in, reminding them that now was not the time to keep opening old wounds. The Lost Lanterns were sent to Qward to rescue Kyle Rayner from the Sinestro Corps, while the rest of the Lanterns were ordered by the Guardians to stay on oa and prepare for another assault. When Hal tried to recharge his ring using the Central Power Battery he found that the Sinestro Corps had booby-trapped it. He was sent to Qward and confronted by Parallax.

(Green Lantern Corps II #14) - The people of Korugar held a rally demanding that Soranik Natu lead them into a new age of prosperity, such as Korugar used to have under the protection of the GLC. Natu reminded her people that as a member of the Corps she couldn’t condone her people overthrowing the government. Sinestro appeared and engaged her in battle, taking their skirmish to the skies. He bested Natu, but told her he would leave and allow the Korugarians to think she was the victor. He knew she rejected power, and feared that it would corrupt her and turn her into someone like him. Sinestro made it clear he needed someone to keep his planet safe, and she was obligated. Sinestro let her fall to Korugar, and just as he suspected, she kept up the premise of being their champion against Sinestro as a matter of duty. The Green Lanterns responded to an all points alert in Space Sector 2263, only to be ambushed by the Sinestro Corps. Before they fell back a number of Lanterns were slaughtered, including Zaneth, and their sector house fell. Kilowog rallied the Corps members on Oa, telling them they were going to take the fight to the Sinestro soldiers. Salakk took Arisia aside and asked her to keep close to Sodam Yat and watch his back. She asked if there was something special about him, and Salakk told her to just follow orders and one day she might get her answer. Emboldened by their victory, Sinestro Corps soldier Enkafos authorized a frontal assault, sending the sentient planet Ranx to attack Mogo.

(Green Lantern IV #22, 23) - The Guardians divided the remaining active Corps members between defending Mogo from the sentient planet Ranx and preparing Oa for another assault. Kyle / Parallax battered Hal, promising him he’d feel the same fear his father felt before he died. The Sinestro Corps joined the battle, threatening to overwhelm Hal. Parallax told him the GLC despised him and had abandoned him, but just then the Lost Lanterns appeared, with Ke’Haan telling Parallax that although they hated Hal they’d never abandon a fellow Lantern. Parallax killed Jack T. Chance, and Hal and the remaining Lost Lanterns retreated to Qward’s underground catacombs. They split up, with Ke’Haan and his allies attempting to locate the imprisoned Ion, while Hal was joined by Graf Toren and Tomar-Tu in rescuing Guy and John Stewart. They found their comrades, but were confronted by Lyssa Drak, keeper of the Book of Parallax, who was in the process of breaking their friends and making them give in to fear. Hal defeated Lyssa Drak, and freed Guy and John Stewart, but because his power ring was running low on energy he was forced to don a number of Sinestro Corps rings, his time infected by Parallax gave him a limited mastery over fear. Sinestro appeared and showed Hal he had no true understanding of fear, but just then the Lost Lanterns returned, having rescued Ion, and the Lanterns returned to the positive-matter universe. The Guardians foresaw the Blackest Night prophecy coming to pass with the rise of the Sinestro Corps, and did the unthinkable, rewriting the Book of Oa. The first of their ten new laws stated that the Corps power rings were authorized to use lethal force against the Sinestro Corps. Hal, Guy and Stewart realized that the Sinestro Corps were staying away from Oa, but had followed them to Earth.

(Green Lantern Corps II #15, 16) - The sentient planet Sinestro Corps soldier Ranx attacked Mogo, knowing the Corps would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. Kilowog and the Lanterns under his command arrived and rallied behind Mogo, but  Sinestro Corps drill sergeant Arkillo beat them back with his soldiers. Despite the GLC’s efforts Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. Kilowog sent corpsmen Yat, Kol, Stel and Chthatis off to Ranx to destroy the planet’s brain. At Green Man’s suggestion Mogo concentrated his life energy into his core, creating an impenetrable shell and giving the Corps enough time to disable the Children. The Guardians announced to the Corps that lethal force could be used against the Sinestro Corps, and the Sinestro Corps suffered heavy losses both on Mogo and Ranx, but the GLC still suffered attrition, including the death of Chthos-Chthas Chthatis. The Guardians tried to recall Sodam Yat from Ranx, knowing he was prophesized to be their salvation, and fearing he would die, but he disobeyed orders. Sodam Yat destroyed Ranx, and the Sinestro Corps fled from Mogo, knowing that he was unstoppable now that he was allowed to use his full power.

(Green Lantern IV #24) - Sinestro communicated with Hal via his power ring as the Sinestro Corps invaded Earth. He intended to conquer the planet, making it a symbol of the Sinestro Corp’s power and their ability to control any planet. He intended to makes saves of the Earthlings, and execute anyone who did not submit. He was also going to turn Coast City into a mass grave again, and informed Hal that the first victims would be Jim Jordan and his family. Hal flew to Jim’s side and saved his family from being murdered by Parallax. As they fought Hal contacted Guiy and John Stewart, asking them to find a painting done by Kyle’s mother that always made him feel close to her, hoping the sight of it would help him fight off the Parallax infection. Hal’s power ring ran out of energy, and he was absorbed into Parallax’s body, but this gave him a chance to talk to Kyle face to face. Kyle blamed himself for his mother’s death at the hands of Sinestro Corps soldier Despotellis, but Hal promised to help him overcome his fear. Hal’s support, coupled with the sight of his mother’s painting helped Kyle reject the Parallax infection. Parallax was ready to try and possess him again when Ganthet and Sayd appeared and split his essence into four pieces, imprisoning each one in a GL lantern. Guy, John, and Hal were now responsible for containing Parallax’s essence, and after Kyle stepped down as torchbearer and accepted a GL ring he was given the fourth GL lantern. The Sinestro Corps invasion of Earth was momentarily being fended off by Earth’s superheroes, but the GLC arrived on Earth to even the odds.

(Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman-Prime #1, Green Lantern Corps IV #17) - The Sinestro Corps continued their war against Earth’s heroes and the GLC. Superboy-Prime joined the battle, but planned for the moment he could betray Sinestro for daring to work with the Anti-Monitor, the being that had destroyed his Earth during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The GLC held off attacks across America, including Mount Rushmore, Las Vegas, and Lubbock, Texas. Arkillo confronted Kilowog in San Diego, demanding a rematch and promising that his men would prevail because they weren’t squeamish about taking a life. Arkillo said he saw fear in Kilowog’s heart, fear of what he might become if he started taking lives without remorse. After Arkillo slaughtered several bystanders Kilowog crippled him, and ripped off his power ring, along with his ring finger. The GLC were recalled to NYC, where the Anti-Monitor had landed. The Guardians learned that the Anti-Monitor was using the Sinestro Corps to fulfill his plan of destroying the multiverse by first controlling Earth. Although reluctant to do so, the Guardians bestowed the power of Ion on Sodam Yat, and set him upon the Anti-Monitor.

(Green Lantern IV #25) - Sodam Yat survived Superman’s attack, and the Sinestro Corps War continued to rage across Earth. Ganthet and Sayd showed Hal, Kyle, Stewart and Guy a vision of the Blackest Night prophecy, with Lantern Corps arising from the other colors of the emotional spectrum, and waging war against each other. They told the heroes they would be expected to prevent this from coming to pass, and left them to found their own Blue Lantern Corps. Hal and Kyle went to Coast City to protect it from Sinestro, and Hal issued a radio broadcast asking the residents to flee. Not a soul left, everyone had faith Hal would save them from Sinestro. Sinestro and a number of his soldiers engaged Hal and Kyle, and Sinestro told them he’d already won the war. His actions made the Guardians rewrite the Book of Oa, and now that the GLC could use lethal force they would be feared. Sinestro always wanted the GLC to be a more totalitarian police force to bring order to the universe, and he’d succeeded. Sinestro and Hal’s rings were both drained of power, and they squared off in hand-to-hand combat. Hal won, and told Sinestro he was under arrest. In NYC the Anti-Monitor tapped into Earth’s energy and prepared to unleash an anti-matter wave to consume Earth. The GLC ruptured the heart of Anti-Monitor’s Warworld, the Sinestro Corps central power battery, and created a shield around Warworld and the Monitor. The ensuing blast nearly destroyed the Anti-Monitor, and he was finished off by Superman-Prime, who betrayed him for having destroyed his home, Earth-Prime. A Guardian sacrificed his life to shunt Prime elsewhere in the multiverse. With the Anti-Monitor destroyed, Sinestro vanquished, and having no way of recharging their rings the Sinestro Corps fled Earth to lick their wounds.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #16) - Vril Dox teleported Rann to the former location of Tamaran in the Vegan system, determined to rebuild his L.E.G.I.O.N. there and clean up the system. The Guardians appointed rookie Lanterns Altin Ad'ms and Gorius Karkum as the new GLs of the sector. The L.E.G.I.O.N. recovered a stolen Arcturian vessel, but wounded Atlin Ad'ms in the process. Salakk and the GLC warned him, pointing out that Ad'ms was a beloved son of the mighty Warlords of Okaara, but Vril said he had a duty to his shareholders to aggressively pursue peacekeeping unless the GLC wanted to buy out his contracts.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #17) - Blackfire and what was left of the Tamaraneans invaded Rann, and Altin Admos and Gorius Karkum tried to put a halt to it. Neither the Rannians nor the Tamaraneans appreciate the interference, and attacked the GLs. Adam Strange used a zeta-beam to teleport himself, the GLs and Blackfire into space. They said they could resolve their differences without outside help, and Blackfire agreed that she could talk to Adam if he was not directly working for Vril Dox. A Thanagarian warfleet interrupted their discussion. Vril Dox was aboard, having brokered a peace treaty between the Thanagarians and Rann. They no longer shared the same solar system, let alone the same planet, and those who blamed Rann for Thanagar's destruction were dead or deposed. They returned to Rann, and Vril offered the empty southern continent to Blackfire and her people as a new home. Ad'ms and Karkum reported back to Salakk, who was not pleased that Vril Dox was gaining power under their watch. They thought they were supposed to stay out of local politics, but Salakk told them to keep a close eye on Vril.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #20-22) - Lyrl Dox invaded Colu, but only succeeded in freeing Brainiac from captivity. Brainiac caused massive destruction, and killed the Coluan ruling council before Vril Dox forced him off-world. Altin Admos and Gorius Karkum arrived on Colu to arrest the Doxes for the destruction they'd caused. Vril refused to be subordinate to the GLC or follow their laws, and sicced Lobo on the GLs. Altin Admos was in awe of Lobo, whose bloodthirsty past was spoken of with reverence on Okaara, but he enjoyed having a challenge worthy of his skills. Lobo and the GLs fought to a standstill until L.E.G.I.O.N. ships and media arrived on Colu. Vril said he intended to rebuild Colu, so unless the GLC was up to the job they could forget about arresting him. He assured them Lobo would be in his safekeeping since he always paid his debts and Vril could help him with the bills he'd accumulated as archbishop of the triple-fish god. Vril was joined by his R.E.B.E.L.S., and said their name was apt because that's how the Guardians of the Universe viewed them. He said the L.E.G.I.O.N. used police by consent utilizing each planet's laws, but the Guardians sought justice using only their own capricious whims. Altin and Gorius reported back to Salakk and the Guardians, who were displeased at the idea of having to wage a war of public opinion. The Guardians accused Gorius of interfering with the Psions, who the Guardians avoided since their initial ill-advised attempt to evolve a sentient race from reptiles created them. A curious Stel and Salakk listened in to the proceedings. Gorius revealed that she'd been following R.E.B.E.L. Starfire, who she felt kinship with because she'd suffered at the hands of the Gordanians much like Psion females suffered at the hands of their males. Females were used as breeding stock, and she and Starfire killed a number of Psions before destroying their breeding nexus where females were kept prisoner.. Gorius said what she did was deal justice, and help her fellow Psion females.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #23) - Vril, Blackfire, Sardath and the R.E.B.E.L.S. welcomed Honor Lantern John Stewart to Rann, and after a public handshake and media coverage they went behind closed doors for negotiations. Their talk quickly broke down, with Stewart demanding he let the GLC do their job, and Vril claiming his rhetoric hadn't influenced the Vegan people to turn against the GLC and demands that they vacate their sector. The Citadelian Liberation Front announced that they had a singularity module, and were going to implode the Vegan sun unless the GLC left the Vegan system. Stewart suspected that Vril orchestrated the affair, but Vril said he had no proof. Stewart sent GL's Admos and Gorius to handle the situation, but after taking out the Gordanians they couldn't figure out how to defuse the module. Stewart said he had faith in them, and refused Vril's offer of L.E.G.I.O.N. assistance. Vril reminded Stewart that his arrogance destroyed the planet Xanshi, and Stewart's temper started to flare. Stewart had called in Ganthet, Soranik Natu, and Kyle Rayner to back up his rookie Lanterns, but Gorius figured out how to destabilize the bomb, cracking its shell and causing an explosion, but preventing it from opening a black hole. Ganthet promoted the rookies to full GL status, and Vril was forced to maintain peace with the Corps, at least in public.
