History: (Challengers of the Unknown I #4) - Darius Tiko was an assistant of physicist Dr. Hobart Reinmetz, and after his death Tiko used his notes to construct a Time Cube. He engaged in dinosaur hunting in the Mesozoic, filmed they Mayan civilization, and witnessed Viking raids on the British coast. He wanted to travel to the future, but needed mathematical equations to probe the future. He went to the oracle of ancient Greece, receiving his formulas in exchange for taking Greek soldiers to the present so they could steal an airplane for the oracle. He made a similar agreement with Rhamis, an Egyptian astrologer inb exchange for a telescope. The thefts became big news, and one Greek was apprehended, and the Challengers of the Unknown were called in to investigate. The Greek wanted to return to his own time, and led the Challs to Darius' hideout on the Island of the Wizard. Tiko claimed he'd enabled the robberies only to open up friendly relations with the Greeks and Egyptians before fleeing in his time cube. The Challs followed in his backup cube, destroying the oracle and astrologer's modern tech lest it fall into the wrong hands. Tikoi visited Nostradamus and gave him accurate knowledge of the present in exchange for the final formulas needed for time travel into the future. In the year 3000 Tiko stole advanced weaponry and medicine, planning on returning to the present and ruling the world. The Challengers arrived to confront him, but the police arrived, telling Tiko and the Challs they'd landed in a restricted zone and took them to an electronic judge. The computer judge cleared them of all charges because they were from a backwards time and couldn't comprehend the rules of a rational society. Tiko's tech was confiscated and the second cube incinerated, but they were allowed to return to the present in the remaining cube. The Challs and Tiko returned to their time, and the police from the future rigged the Cube to self-destruct so time travel would no longer be possible in their era. The Challs took Tiko to the authorities to answer for his crimes.
