History: (Big Daddy Danger #1) - Big Daddy Danger was a champion pro wrestler who also protected Big City from any and all threats, and Colonel was his manager. He defended his championship from the Meat-Maker, and after trouncing him he thought he was getting too old for the sport. The Colonel told him the mayor and his daughter had been kidnapped, and he went into action. His son cried to Colonel that Big Daddy was supposed to train him for a wrestling meet, and never seemed to have time for him. Daddy saved the day, and learned that the kidnappers were working for the mysterious Mr. X.
(Big Daddy Danger #2) - Daddy practiced with Danny at his gymnasium the Danger Dome for an upcoming title match. One of their sessions ended when the Colonel said he booked a benefit dinner for Daddy. Colonel assured the disappointed Danny it was for a good cause, but Danny said he was a good cause too. Danny asked to tag along, but was left behind because the dinner was only a cover for espionage at Star Satellite Research Tower. Daddy got the shots of Star's liquid crystal isotope experiments and returned home. Danny got into a fight while he was gone, but refused to talk to Daddy, saying he could look after himself. Daddy wanted to reveal his spy work to his son, but couldn't, as the Colonel reminded him he'd taken an oath. He offered to make Danny a sidekick, but when Danny asked if he could go to the late night events Daddy went to he said no, and Danny stormed off to his room.
(Big Daddy Danger #3) - Big Daddy had a championship steel cage match against a mystery opponent at MSG, and was also supposed to intercept a drop-off of unknown materials. His head wasn't in the game, he was too concerned about his strained relationship with Danny. The Colonel reminded him he had a job to do, and said Danny would understand one day. Danny was feeling petulant, so he hid in the MSG crowd, and this concerned Daddy even more, his son was always cheering the loudest for him. His opponent turned out to be his brother Diablo, who he'd thought dead. The match was intense, and he had to climb the cage and trick Diablo into flinging him into the crowd so he could intercept a briefcase being handed over to Ferocious Farouq and foil the drop-off. When they reentered the cage he was distracted enough for Diablo to finish him off, becoming the new champion and handing him his first defeat in the ring. Diablo promised Danny he could be his sidekick, and he left with his uncle. Daddy was having a breakdown when the Colonel gave him a pep talk, promising him they'd take down Diablo and win back Danny's love.
(Big Daddy Danger #4, 5) - Daddy told the Colonel that his father told him his brother Diablo died, but Colonel filled him in to the fact that Diablo was his father's original pick for a successor. They discovered an interdimensional gateway and had a disagreement that led to Diablo being banished from the family, and tossed into the gateway. Daddy's father hid the portal stones in his championship belt, and Diablo used his new championship belt to reopen the portal. Daddy made the scene, and Danny finally realized his uncle was evil, and tried to resist him. Daddy won back his title in an epic match, fueled by the anger of his brother corrupting his son. Diablo was beaten, but he'd still succeeded in bringing his extradimensional brothers to Earth for a cosmic smackdown. Daddy and the Colonel became part of the US military to fight off the extradimensional invasion, but the fight was grueling. Daddy came up with a plan to end the conflict, and made the Colonel promise he'd look after Danny. Daddy shot himself into the portal, closing it, and allowing the US troops to be victorious, but he was now trapped in another dimension. The Colonel told Danny they had to talk. He showed Danny the mask Daddy used as a superspy, and told him to put it in the armoire. Danny was always expressly forbid from touching the armoire, but the Colonel said he was ready to learn more about his father.
(Big Daddy Danger #6) - The armoire was filled with every mask worn by the Dangers who protected the US since the formation of the nation. The Colonel brought Dana, Danny's mother, to be with him during this momentous occasion. The Colonel revealed that Daddy was a superspy, and with him gone Danny would be the next in line to train for the position. Danny was glad there was a reason his father was always absent, and he thought being a superspy would be incredibly cool. In the other dimension Big Daddy was fighting the extradimensionals monstrous champion, with the match being broadcast across the universe. The Colonel was worried about his charge, but Danny was happy to root on his dad from home. Daddy won the bout, and returned to Earth. Danny told him he knew his secret, and Daddy decided to retire from the ring to spend more time with his family.
(Big Daddy Danger #7) - Daddy had a dinner date with Dana, and Danny noticed how nervous he was. The Colonel told him he was needed because Diablo was loose, but Daddy'd promised never to let Dana down again. When he and Danny arrived they found that Dana'd been kidnapped by Diablo, and Daddy swore things were about to get ugly. Daddy saw that every time he tried to get out of the game something pulled him back in. The Colonel showed Danny a map of the city where Diablo had set fires, and Danny realized that connecting the points made a pentagram, and he deduced that the steel mill in the center was where Dana was being held. Daddy was proud of him, but said it was too dangerous for him to tag along. Danny was upset after being told things would be different now that he was in training. Danny went off on his own and rescued Dana, but Diablo caught up to him. Daddy arrived, and prepared for another showdown with the villain, but this time Diablo had Mephisto fire in his corner. Fire was a demon who'd granted Diablo supernatural powers.

I'd say he was clearly patterned after Col. Sanders of KFC fame.
