(The Authority I #1) - Stormwatch's funding was cut, leaving the world without a superhuman response team, and Jackson King and Christine Trelane were reduced to working as advisors for a superhuman intelligence office for the U.N. They were helpless when terrorist Kaizen Gamorra attacked Moscow, causing untold loss of life. Jenny Sparks appeared in their office and revealed that she'd turned Stormwatch Black into the Authority, taking the place of Stormwatch as the world's first defense against superhuman menaces.

(The Authority I #3) - Jackson King, Christine Trelane and Shinya Hoshino of the UN superhuman negotiation team contacted Gamorra asking him to explain his acts of terrorism. Gamorra still wanted revenge for Stormwatch killing a number of his countrymen when they were under the control of the insane Henry Bendix. He was not looking to negotiate, and mad eit clear that UN sanctions meant nothing to him. He carved the Gamorra trademark onto a geisha's face while explaining that his terror had no political ideology, but it was his lifeblood and what his nation stood for.

(The Authority I #5) - Christine Trelane contacted the Authority when a rip in spacetime opened and fighter jets emerged, devastating L.A. Apollo and the Doctor destroyed a number of the crafts, and Jenny Sparks recognized them. She said they were under attack from the parallell world of Sliding Albion.

(The Authority I #11) - A creature calling itself God had created Earth as a retirement home, and was displeased after returning from a billion years trip around the universe to find native life infesting it. God planned to sterilize the planet, and Jackson told Christine he wished Stormwatch was still around, because they could have taken care of the situation. Christine just watched on as the Authority responded.

(The Authority I #13, 21) - The Authority became worldwide celebrities, and Christine and Jackson were invited to one of their after-hours parties aboard the Carrier. Jackson said he hated the idea of spending time with the Authority, and Christine said he was jealous because they were no longer major players in Stormwatch. Jackson had figured out that the Authority had been using them to present a friendly face to the public and the UN, and he disapproved of them interfering in foreign affairs by deposing the rulers of nations. King was miserable at the party, and when Christine caught up with her old teammate Flint she ditched him so the two could have an encounter in a hot tub. Christine said every father figure King had ever known had turned out to be corrupt. King got in a physical confrontation with Jack Hawksmoor, telling him that if the Authority kept pushing the world would push back. King started hearing the voices of his father Despot and Henry Bendix in his head, and they convinced him to use a secret he'd found in Nevada to start taking control of the world again. Christine's powers flashed on again, and King told her he'd decided to create a new superteam, and later proposed to her.

(The Authority I #15) - The U.S. blamed the recent carnage in Singapore on insurgents from the Asian dictatorship overthrown by the Authority. Jack Hawksmoor knew they were covering their own, and made a worldwide broadcast naming the perpetrators as a rogue U.S. military branch. He threatened to expose the affairs of every politician in Washington, and soon after Christine Trelane called with the location of the U.S. records of Krigstein and the Americans, the ones responsible for Singapore

(The Authority I #17-19) - A supernatural storm destroyed the Vatican, and Christine Trelane and King asked the Authority to investigate. Trelane and King found a pattern of unprecedented weather-based destruction over the past month, and suspected terrorists. The latest event was a tsunami that slammed NYC, and the Authority, Trelane and King organized a rescue effort. Survivors were brought to the Authority's Carrier.

(The Authority I #29) - King and Trelane were invited to the marriage of Apollo and the Midnighter aboard the Authority's Carrier.
