Powers: Carapax's robot body possessed superhuman strength, invulnerability and agility and was powered by a self-sustaining power source.

History: Carapax was a rival archaeologist of Dan Garrett, the original Blue Beetle. When Garrett died on Pago Island Carapax went to the island to figure out exactly what Garrett was looking for or researching there. He never found out, but did find the secret lab of Jarvis Kord. Carapax was fascinated by a robot he found in the lab, and tried to activated it, but only managed to electrocute himself. At the moment of death Carapax's mind was transferred into the robot. Max Fischer and Blue Beetle II arrived on Pago Island, hoping to learn more about the death of Dan Garrett, and Carapax saw their arrival as a chance to escape Pago. He killed the crew of the ship that brought Fischer and fought Blue Beetle II. During the fight Carapax sunk into the Atlantic Ocean, never to be heard from again.
