(The Dark Knight Strikes Again #2, 3) - Rick Rickard was elected President of the United States, pivoting the U.S. towards fascism. Rickard was actually a computer hologram controlled by Lex Luthor, the real power behind the government. He systematically imprisoned heroes he was worried might cause his downfall. Black Canary, as one of the Wonderchix put on steamy webshows and concerts that were banned from the internet by the Rickard administration. The Wonderchix were defiant and put on a concert, and when the national guard were called in Black Canary used her wiles to convince many of them to defect. Batman, who’d faked his death three years earlier during a fight with Superman, decided to make his existence known. Batman, accompanied by Black Canary and her old boyfriend Green Arrow spoke to the youth of America, telling them to put on tights and rise up. The Superchix started infighting, with Batchick more dedicated to the idea of a rebellion than Black Canary. Batman’s rebellion succeeded, with Luthor and Brainiac dead and the government left in shambles.
