Powers: Artemis possessed immense superhuman strength and durability, and was a skilled armed and unarmed combatant.

History: Artemis was a member of the Lost Tribe of Amazons. When Diana was deemed unworthy  of the Wonder Woman role, Artemis replaced her.

(DCU Holiday Bash #3) - Wonder Woman visited Mike and Joanna on Christmas and Artemis arrived and called Wonder Woman a traitor for celebrating a Christian holiday, weakening the already flagging belief in the Greek pantheon. To make Artemis feel better they engaged in a tussle like the Themysciran Solstice contest.

(JLA #5, Aztek: The Ultimate Man #10) - Artemis showed up for the JLA membership drive at the JLA Watchtower.

(Superman / Batman #9, 10, 13) -Wonder Woman learned that Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El landed on earth, and was determined that she should be trained on Paradise Island. Kara spent her first day in public with Superman in Metropolis, and Wonder Woman, Artemis and Harbinger went to retrieve her. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Amazons fought them off despite heavy casualties, but they managed to bring Kara to Apokolips. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman rescued Kara, and threw a celebration on Paradise Island, introducing Supergirl to the world.
