I Didn't Write This Song
It's not anything that I have done,
I couldn't do it, I wasn't the one.
Not by my power, not from within,
With out His spirit I'd still be in sin.
I'm singing a new song that's better each day.
I'm praising Jesus cause he showed me the way.
But I didn't write this song.
Sure I moved the pen around
And it didn't take long.
But I didn't write this song.
Someone told me what to say
Or it'd come out all wrong.
Oh, I didn't write this song.
It wasn't me then, that got off the pew.
I couldn't do it, the feeling was new.
Those weren't my tears, that streamed down my face.
He was with the Father, pleading my case.
You can sing this new song, just give him a try,
Give your heart to Jesus, His tears you can cry.
But I didn't write this song.
Sure I moved the pen around
And it didn't take long.
But I didn't write this song,
Someone told me what to say
Or it'd come out all wrong.
Oh, I didn't write this song.
