WFW Thursday Night Rage (2/18/99)
[The screen turns black and the letters,
W...F...W slowly make their way onto the
screen. The letters explode into darkness as
the word "RAGE" can now be seen. Then, the WFW Theme begins to play, as we are taken inside the arena where thousands of screaming fans are standing. The camera pans the crowd and brings us to the announcers table at ringside where Jumbo Hastings is standing.]
JH: Welcome everyone to Thursday Night Rage!! We are live from the E Center in Salt Lake City, UT!! I will be going alone tonight, as Phil Smith is a little sick. Tonight we have 9 matches for you with 4 Titles on the line!! We also have a BIG Triple Threat Main Event match between Razor Ramon, Phoenix Thunder, and Jeffrey D. Major!! Our first match tonight is between Mankind and Angel of Death in a "I Quit" match!!
#1 Mankind .v. Angel of Death
("I Quit" Match)
JH: The bell sounds and here we go. Angel walks up to Mankind and slaps him. Mankind slaps himself too. Angel has a weird look on his face, Angel grabs Mankind and sends him into the ring ropes, Mankind bounces off the ropes into a dropkick. Angel picks Mankind up and tosses him to the outside. Angel grabs a chair and bashes Mankind over the head with it. Mankind is begging for more - Angel gives him 3 quick bashes with the chair over the head. Mankind finally goes down, Angel is now laying the chair on Mankind's knee and climbing the apron -Angel is going to attempt an elbow drop onto the knee of Mankind. Angel jumps and Mankind moves out of the way!! Angel hits hard on the ground. Mankind climbs back into the ring and is climbing the top rope - don't tell me he is going to try a flying body splash on Angel outside of the ring. Wait Mankind is turning around....MOONSAULT..onto Angel. Mankind is applying is mandible claw - the ref is seeing if Angel is wanting to give up but Angel just flips him off. Mankind throws Angel back into the ring. Mankind goes and grabs a chair and brings it into the ring with him. He nails Angel on the back with it - Angel seems to be feeling no pain. Angel grabs Mankind and tosses him over the top rope. Angel leaves the ring and picks up Mankind and places him on the announcers table and gets back in the ring and - bounces off the ropes and flys out of the ring and lands right on top of Mankind!!!!!!!! Choke Slam by Angel! Wait Masked Murder jumps over the rail and nails Angel with a Barbwire baseball bat!!! Mandible Claw by Mankind on Angel! Angel is out! He mumbles the words "I Quit"! Mankind wins!!
JH: Our next match is a best of 3 falls Skyscrapper between two great wrestlers - Joe Jackson and Masked Murder.
#2 Joe Jackson .v. Masked Murder
(Best of 3 Falls/Skyscrapper Match)
JH: We go live via a satelitte to New York City, NY! Well both men have reached the top and it must be around 0 degrees up there. Well they both start the match off by picking them up a weapon... Joe decides to just throw his weapon at Murder, Murder is nailed with a flying 2x4!! Looks like he may already he cut open from that blow! Joe walks over to Murder and is kicked below the belt line. Murder must have been acting the whole time. Murder gets up slowy, and nails Joe with a fist in the face - Joe fires back with one of his own They both continue to exchange punches. Kick and a Jackson Jam Slam by Jackson! 1, 2, 3!! Jackson wins the first fall!!! Well we are just about ready for match 2 between Joe and Murder. Joe attacks Murder before the match starts - so I guess it is started now. Joe with a fury of kicks to Murders gut - Joe nails Murder with a DDT onto the concrete floor. Murder is first one to reopen those cuts from the match before. Looks like Joe has found an dead bird up there what is he going to do with it? Ohh sick his just rubbed it in Murders face. Murder must be getting a little ill by now if he even knows where he is at. But there isn't much he can do laying on his back like that. Joe grabs a ladder from the storage room - Joe sets it up and is climbing it - he is on the top - looks like a gust of wind has hit and it knocks Joe off the top of the ladder !!!! My God - Joe is laying on the edge of the building! Murder has him now! He drags him back onto the buiding and uses the Capital Punishment on Jackson!! 1, 2, 3!! Murder wins the second fall!! We are tied!! We are ready for our 3rd match of the best of 3 falls. Joe and Murder are pretty beat up from the first 2 matches - they haven't got much left in them - The Doctors say either one could passout at anytime but here they go at it - Joe clothlines Murder onto the floor
- Joe drags Murder over to the Elevator shaft and hits the down button - the door opens and Joe throws Murder in there - and Joe is going in there too - wait I can't believe this we have a camera in the elevator ! What look - fans you won't miss any of this - They are fighting in the elevator and they get out at the 5th floor and Murder drags Joe over to the stairs and tosses Joe down the stair - Joe's body is landing on the edge of those steps! Man this thing can't go on too much longer. They have fiught theirselves to the bottom floor and now are in the streets of New York fighting - Murder is slammed into a windshield of a taxi cab! Jackson Jam Slam on the car by Jackson!! 1, 2, 3!! Jackson wins the match!!! That was GREAT!!!!
JH: We have gotten word that Mankind, back in the arena, has grabbed a mic. Mankind says, "You just saw two great wrestler fight! That is why we are joining forces! Me, Murder, and Jackson have joined forces, so watch out!!"
#3 RH: Psycho .v. WCW: Panther
(Hardcore Championship/Scaffold Match)
JH: Here comes Psycho to the ring with a handfull of weapons and he looks well prepared for this match - here comes Panther with a garbage can full of weapons - looks like he is more prepared for this match. Both wrestlers are on the scaffolds. Panther throws powder into the eyes of Psycho! Psycho is blinded! Psycho is feeling around and he grabs someone and nails him with a piledriver!! But it was the ref!!!! Psycho has no idea about whats going on!! Psycho trips over the ref - He must think that is Panther because he is attemting a pin on the ref - Panther gets down - 1-2-3! Psycho thinks he has won the match!! Psycho stands up and Panther hands Psycho the belt and then nails him with a baseball bat!!! The ref is making his way back to his feet! Panther makes a cover. 1, 2, KICKOUT! Panther uses Da' Bomb on Psycho from the scaffolds! 1, 2, 3!! Panther is the NEW Hardcore Champion!!
#4 eWo: Soldier Syxx .v. Bam Bam Bigelow
(Lightweight Championship)
JH: Both wrestlers are in the ring so lets go to the ring now. Soldier Syxx and Bam Bam Bigelow meet in the middle with each of them have eyes of stone tonight both seem more focus for this match than any other match in their life. Syxx starts off with a slap to the face...Bam Bam replys with a rake of the face - Bam Bam grabs Syxx and sends him in the ropes and nails him with a drop kick - and Syxx gets up quick and recieves another dropkick! Syxx gets back up and yet another drop kick from Bam Bam. Syxx stays down this time. Bam Bam climbs the top rope and he goes flying off the top rope and hits him with a Top Rope Leg Drop!!! - Haven't seen that in a long time. Looks like Bam Bam hurt his leg with that move though. Bam Bam is trying to stay off his right foot it seems like. Bam Bam picks up Syxx but Syxx gives a kick to the knee and another, an another, Bam Bam falls to the ground, Syxx picks up Bam Bam and sends him in the ropes - Bam Bam is caught is a flying DDT! Syxx throws Bigelow outside of the ring and tries to go after him, but the ref stops him. Wait Johnny Gunn runs to the ring and attacks Bigelow! Dogg's Bite by Gunn on Bigelow!! He rolls Bigelow back in, and leaves before the ref turns around! Syxx Kick by Syxx! 1, 2, 3!! Syxx wins!!!
#5 Havok .v. Lightning Kid
(Barbwire/Cage Match)
JH: Kid comes out looking in great shape and here comes Havok - Well the match starts off with a stare down in the ring - Kid slaps Havok in the face - Havok returns the favor with many punches to the side of the face. Havok throws Kid into the Barbwire btu Kid stops himself before he hits the barbwire. Kid nails Havok with a savate kick to the face. Kid is puting Havok on the top rope - it looks like a top rope powerbomb from Kid - He has Havok up and Havok hits the mat hard!! Havok may have hurt his back - Kid climbs back to the top rope - but Havok is starting to slowy make his way back up - Havok kicks the Barbwire!! Kid falls back - but the cage keeps him from hitting the floor - but Kid regains his balence and nail Havok with a crossbody block - Havok has really taken a beating in this match. Havok to me was coming in here as the favorite but Kid has proved me wrong so far. Kid is going once more to the top rope - he may be pushing his luck - Kid attemts a frog splash but Havok moves out of the way !! Havok has got a boost of energy from something - Havok picks up the Kid and does a stun gun like move on the barbwire - Kid is cut open real bad! Havok goes over to Kid. Kid grab the tights of Havok and throws Havok head first into the cage!! Havok falls to the mat! Kid drapes an arm over Havok! 1, 2, 3!! Kid wins!!!
JH: Man what some matches we have had tonight - lets see what else do we have for tonight - and IC match and a American Title match and a 3 way dance - but first while we have the Cage up we will have the Bromell and Pinhead cage match.
#6 Maurice Bromell .v. Pinhead
(Cage Match)
JH: Bromell is making his way to the ring here comes Pinhead with a baseball bat. Pinhead takes a swing at Bromell but Bromell ducks and Bromell give a quick kick and an Iceman Stunner like move - Bromell is climbing the cage for a quick and easy win but , he slips and falls to the mat. This could be Pinheads chance at some offence here. Pinhead is climbing the ring now but it looks like he is wanting to do some type of move instead of win - he measure up Bromell and delievers a Elbow Drop from the top of the cage!!!! Bromell might have some ribs cracked from that move. Pinhead looks to have hurt his arm in that last move he did - but I don't think it is to bad though. Pinhead is back to his feet first and begins to stump on Bromells head, Bromell seems to have been cut open when Pinheads elbow hit him. Pinhead picks up Bromell - he is setting him up for a powerbomb - he's got him up - but Bromell - starts to pound on Pinheads head - Pinhead finally falls but Bromell takes the fall too - Bromell fell on Pinheads ribs and seems to have knocked the wind out of him - Bromell gets up - Pinhead staggers to his feet - Bromell grabs Pinheads hair and and slams him into the side of the cage - Pinhead has a small gash above his right eye. What is this now! Blood starts to drip on Pinhead from the ceiling of the arena!! What is this all about!! Bromell then runs and pushes Pinhead again into the side of the cage, while Pinhead is looking up!!! Pinhead is out!! Bromell goes up and over the cage to win!!! After the match, the lights go out!! There are some loud rumblings!! When the lights come back on, Pinhead has BEWARE OF DOGG written in blood on his back!! That is weird!
JH: Well our next match for tonights card is Majors vs. Shocker - this may be the first non - cage/barbwire match we've had tonight - but this will be a great match because the American Title is on the line.
#7 4H: Jeffrey D. Major .v. eWo: The Shocker
(American Championship)
JH: Well here comes Major to the ring with a Canadian Flag waving in the air - Major has another match tonight! Wait before he can make it to the ring Shocker comes from the corwd and attacks Majors - Shocker grabs the flag and breaks it into over Majors back - Major stumbles into the ring and Shocker isn't far behind - Shocker clothelines Major to the mat and delivers a leg drop - Shocker is setting up Majors for a Boston Crab it looks like - Major is trying to reach the ropes but can't seem to make it - Shocker sets back and just holds the move there for a few moments until he see's that Major is not going to give up. Shocker picks up Majors and gives him a standing back breaker - Shocker tonight seems to be working on the back and knee areas of Major for tonight's match. Shocker sends Majors into the ring ropes - Majors ducks and bounces off the ring ropes and nails Shocker with his on flying clotheline - Major picks up Shocker and and gives him a standing dropkick. Wait Mankind crawls out from underneath the ring. The ref stops him! From behind, Shocker clips the injured leg of Major!! He rolls him up! 1, 2, 3!! Shocker is the NEW American Champion!! Mankind and Shocker shake hands, and Mankind leaves the ring.
#8 DX: Billy X .v. RH: Iceman Jason McGrew .v. RH: Doom
(IC Championship/Triple Threat Match)
JH: Here come Billy X down to the ring for tonights match - he will have a tough time tonight becuase he is going against great wrestlers and here they come walking out together - IceMan Jason McGrew and Doom!
We also have learned that Billy has injured his thigh during training, but he didn't want to give up the title, so he is still in this one!! Billy will have a hard time beating 2 people from the same stable too! He is in trouble, I am afraid! Jason and Doom both enter the ring and Billy strikes first - Billy nails Doom with a punch, Now Jason, eye rack to Doom, and Jason gets it. He grabs Dooms and Mcgrew's head - and gives a double head butt. Doom staggers over to the corner, McGrew hits the mat. Billy climbs the 2nd rope and starts hitting Doom with closed fist - 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 - Doom shoves Billy off of him and Jason grabs Billy and Doom steps up on the middle rope and comes flying off of it with a flying fist - Billy is helpless - Doom and McGrew send Billy into the ring ropes - and Billy ducks - bounces off the ropes and is meet with 2 kicks to the gut and a double DDT!! Doomsday Driver by Doom on X!! Wait from behind! Kick and an Ice Cold Stunner by Iceman on Doom!! 1, 2, 3!! Iceman is the NEW IC Champion!!! Here comes Pinhead!! He nails Iceman!! He starts to pound on him, until Ramon and Psycho make a save!
#9 RH: Razor Ramon .v. 4H: Jeffrey D. Major .v. Phoenix Thunder
(Triple Threat Match)
JH: Here we go! Thunder and Ramon punch it out, while Major just watches. Thunder stomps on Ramon in the corner. Ramon kicks Thunder back. Ramon starts to get the advantage, but from behind Major pounds on Ramon. Slam by Major. Backbreaker by Major. Major goes up top and connects with a Flying Elbow Drop. Thunder gets up and starts to stomp on Ramon. DDT by Thunder on Ramon. Stun Gun and a Spear by Thunder. Major holds Ramon and Thunder nails Ramon with some right hands. Piledriver by Thunder on Ramon. Death Drop by Thunder. Thunder holds Ramon. Major goes for a clothesline, but Ramon ducks and Major nails Thunder! Ramon punches away at Major. Back Suplex by Ramon on Major. Atomic Drop by Ramon on Thunder. Choke Slam by Ramon on Major. Backbreaker by Ramon on Thunder. DDT by Ramon on Major. Fallaway Slam by Ramon on Thunder. He sets up Thunder for a Razor's Edge. Wait from behind Major nails Ramon with a low blow! What is going on here! Thunder falls on Ramon and makes a cover! 1, 2, 3!! Thunder wins!! Major was just watching the pinfall! Wait Thunder and Major shake hands!! Oh my god! This was a plan from the start! Ramon didn't have a chance in this Suprise Handicap Match! Wait here comes Pinhead! He starts a fight with Thunder! Here comes Panther and Johnny Gunn!! Panther nails Ramon with a guitar!! Here comes RH!! They fight with Panther, Gunn, Thunder, Major, Pinhead! Here comes Havok from the crowd. He nails Ramon with a chair!! He takes off his shirt and reveal a canadian flag! He then helps Thunder and Major fight off the rest! Wait what is this now! Mankind comes down and nails Ramon with a chair just as he is getting up! He goes for a Mandible Claw! No wait! Mankind helps Ramon up!! During the melee outside, Mankind helps Ramon to the back!! Who the HELL is on whose side!! My GOD this is crazy!! We are out of time!! I will see you Sunday!!!
