WFW Sunday Night Fury (2/28/99)

[The screen turns black and the letters, W...F...W slowly make their way onto the screen. The letters explode into darkness as the word "FURY" can now be seen. We are taken inside the arena where thousands of screaming fans are standing. The camera pans the crowd and brings us to the announcers table at ringside where Jumbo Hastings is standing.] 

JH: Welcome everyone to Sunday Night Fury in the Bi-Lo Center in GreenVille, SC!! We have a gre.... Wait a minute!
Who is this! 

WD: Hey, Jumbo. Why dont you just go to the back, cause the White Dragon is 
here to commentate, and we dont need you. 

JH: Well. We'll see about this. 

WD: Thats nice. Now for those of you who dont know. I am the White Dragon. You will be seeing a lot of me around here in the coming weeks. Now I have been told that Razor Ramon was supposed to fly in from Miami, but due to bad weather, he will be unable to be a guest announcer here. But you get instead! Now down to action. 

1. Flaming Cell/Coal Miner's Glove Match/Tacks in the ring/Loser Wears Winners Colors for 30 days- CH: Havok vs. Brian Young

WD: The "All American" vs. a Canadian Horseman! A lot at stake! Havok brought a blackjack with him! Here we go! Slam by Young. Suplex by Young. Juvi Driver on the tacks by Young. Young goes to the top and uses a Suicide Dive on Havok. DDT on the tacks by Young. Young grabs the ladder and nails Havok with it! He starts to climb it, but Havok stops him! Havok pounds on Young. Slam and a Leg Drop by Havok. Havok throws Young to the outside and Young lands on the flaming cell! Young is burned! Havok climbs the ladder and grabs the glove! He swings it at Young, but Young ducks. Young grabs the glove and nails Havok with it! Havok falls to the outside! Young goes after him. Havok has the blackjack and Young rolls him back in. Young goes to the top rope, but Havok is up and he nails Young with the blackjack! Canadian Strain by Havok and Young is knocked out! That is it! Havok has won!!

2. Jason Hamilton vs. CH: Jakal 

WD: This is a match between two men who hate each other. The Jakal, a 
Canadian and Jason Hamilton a true American. It will be interessting to see who wins this one. A lot is riding on this match. Well, here we go. Hamilton takes the early advantage by winning a graple. Now, he is really taking it too the Jakal. He has him in a head-lock. Jakal is weakening. He's almost out. But wait. He gives Hamilton a low-blow. Hamilton is down. Jakal starts to hammer away. Punches kicks. Now, he picks him up and, my goodness, what a powerslam. Now, and elbow to top it off. And, a few kicks to add insult to injury. Now, he starts to walk around and taunt the American fans. How sick. But, wait Hamilton from behind with a devastating bull-dog. Jakal is out. Now Hamilton, continues the assult, with a DDT, and a clothesline. And now even a savate kick. Jakal is down. Hamilton looks to be going for a choke-slam. But no, Jakal with a poke to the eyes. Hamilton is down. Now Jakal gets him in a headlock. Hamilton is fading. But, wait, the crowd starts up the USA chant. And Hamilton begins to get life, he starts to break free. And yes. Hes free. Now, he turns around, and begins to beat the crap out of the Jakal. Punches, kicks, anything. Hamilton knocks him down again. He picks up Jakal and uses American's Fury on Jakal!! 1, 2, 3!! Hamilton wins!!

3. Julio Montero vs. eWo: Joe Jackson 

WD: Here we go. Both men are in the ring. Lets get this thing on. 
Jackson, takes the early advantage with a cheap-shot. Then, a series of punches and kicks. Now, he is going for a neck-breaker. But, it is reversed by Julio. Now, a few kicks by Julio. Then a elbow drop. Now he picks him up and slams him down. And wait theres more still. He hits him with a running clothesline. Then he throws him out of the ring. Now, Julio off the top rope, to the outside of the ring. He hits Jackson, and they both go tumbling to the floor. The ref starts the count. 1.2.3.4.5.6.7... Julio is in. 8.9.... Jackson just barely makes it. But, when he does get in Julio is right there to give him a DDT. Now hes going for a pin. 1....2....NO. Kickout. Jackson is still in it. But, Julio still has control. He starts to deleiver a series of big moves, that will wear down Jackson. Now, he is scalling the ropes, and yes he hits him with a flying drop-kick. Jackson is out and Julio is up. Julio picks up Joe and applies The Julio Tornado! Jackson gives up!! Julio wins!

4. Knockout Match- EMW: Duke Nukem vs. Ryan Burns 

WD: Here we go! Nukem starts off going for the knee of Burns. Suplex by Duke. Leg Drop by Duke. Slam and an Elbow Drop by Duke. Clip by Duke. He sits on Burns' leg. Grapevine by Duke. Headlock and a Shoulder Block by Duke. Duke stomps on Burns. DDT by Duke. Duke goes for the Nuclear Meltdown, but Burns slides behind Duke. Kick and a DDT by Burns. Powerbomb by Burns. Neckbreaker by Burns. Burns picks up Duke and Tombstones him! 1, 2, 3!! Burns wins!!

5. Non-Title Match- eWo: Soldier Syxx vs. eWo: The Shocker 

WD: This should be interessting. Two friends and stable mates fighting 
each-other. Well, here we go. They lock up. Shocker, gets the advantage. He grabs Syxx's arm, and pulls it back into and arm-bar. He's really putting the pressure on. Syxx is in some real pain. But, wait, hes breaking out. Yes hes out. But, Shocker still with the advantage hits him with a punch to the face. Then, he starts to kick him until Syxx is on the ground. Then, Syxx with a punch to Shockers face. Now, Syxx getting up. They are both trading blows, Syxx, seems to be getting the advantage. Wait, Shocker, has fallen, now Syxx continuing, with kicks and punches. Syxx is unrelentless. He picks up Shocker, and goes for a DDT.   Now, for a piledriver. And now a suplex. And more still. He hits him with a slam. And a spinning heel kick. Shocker is down and out. Syxx is climbing the ropes. He goes for the Moonsault Splash, but, no. Shocker has moved. Now Shocker up and with the advantage. He hits Syxx with a devastating power-bomb. And now, a running clothes-line. And now, a choke-slam. Electric Shock by Shocker! 1, 2, 3!! Shocker wins and will face Syxx Thursday for the Title!!

6. Lightweight Title Tourny- Benito Chavez vs. Bam Bam Bigelow 

WD: And now, on to our second match. Here we go, both men are in the ring 
and ready to go. Bam Bam comes out of his corner like a wild bull. He simply overpowers Chavez. Hes hitting him with a series of punches and kicks. Hes picking him up, and, slams him down. Picks him up again, and this time, its a Russian leg-sweep. Now, he is delivering a series of knees and kicks to Chavez' midrif. He picks him up again. Throws him into the ropes, and wow, a hurrancanranna. Chavez is down. Bam Bam picks him up, and sets him up for the Kickstand. But wait, Chavez, grabs him, and a bodyslam by Chavez. Both men are worn out and laying on the ground.   Wait, Bam Bam is up, hes going for an elbow drop. But, no, Chavez has moved. Now, Chavez taking the offence. Punches and kicks, delivered with accuracy. Now, a slam. Chavez is on a role. Bam Bam, has been thrown into the corner. And, Chavez, starts up the punches. 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10. Chavez, jumps down, and starts to kick Bam Bam wildly. Now, Chavez with a drop-kick. And, now he throws him into the ropes. And, wow, a flying clothes-line. Chavez, is pumped, he climbs up to the top rope. A moonsault off the top. And a hit. Bam Bam, looks to be hurt bad. But Chavez is relentless, punches and kicks, he wont stop. But, wait, Bam Bam, with an eye-rake. And now a slam. Bam Bam, getting some steam, he picks up Chavez for the Kickstand, but Chavez reverses it into a DDT! Chavez goes up top. Mexican Body Press by Chavez! 1, 2, 3!! Chavez wins!!

7. Lightweight Title Tourny- Pinhead vs. Lightning Kid 

WD: Now, here we go with our second light-heavyweight match of the evening. 
These are both great athletes, and they are both in the ring. Now, here we go, the match is underway. Lightning Kid rushes Pinhead. But Pinhead sees it coming and steps aside. The Kid goes running into the corner, and as he is stumbling out Pinhead gives him a good kick to his knee. The Kid is down. Pinhead, now starts to stomp on his knee. He rests the Kids leg on the rope and begins to jump off the second rope on to his leg. The Kid seems to be in pain. I think he is hurt. But, Pinhead doesnt stop, he just gets up and begins to deliver hard hitting moves and a few punches too. Then he lays the kid on the ground and he ascends the ropes. He gets to the top and he looks to be doing a flying elbow, he.... misses. The Kid, rolled out of the way. Now, Kid, climbs onto Pinhead, and he starts to pound away. Then, he picks Pinhead up, and he looks like hes going for a DDT, but wait, Pinhead, punches his knee. Oh, no more punches too the knee. And kicks, I dont think that the Kid can take much more. Pinhead taking him up to the top-rope. Pindrop by Pinhead!! Wait Pinhead does not cover him! Pinhead applies a Figure-Four to Kid! Kid gives up!! Pinhead wins!!

8. Stable Championship- DX (Billy X, Chad Sexton, and Mark De La Rocha) vs. CH (Jeffrey D. Major, Messiah, and Phoenix Thunder)

WD: This is a fight from the start! Thunder and Rocha fight to the outside! Messiah and Sexton fight while Major and X fight! Powerbomb by Messiah on Sexton. Major slings X into the ropes, but somehow X hits the ref and he goes down and out! Wait here comes Garret Bannon from the crowd! He grabs a chair and nails Rocha and Thunder on the outside with it!! Bannon trips Messiah from the outside. Choke Slam by Major on Sexton! Bannon throws Messiah into the guardrail! Bannon climbs into the ring and nails X with the chair! Now Bannon and Major fight! The ref is still out! Low Blow by Bannon! The Cannon by Bannon on Major! Wait he rolls X on top of Major! He then leaves the ring! The ref comes around and makes the 1, 2, 3!! DX wins! Bannon came in and knocked out everyone, but then helped DX win!! WHAT??!

9. Tag Team Title Tourny Match- WCW/eWo: Panther and WCW/eWo: Johnny Gunn vs. RH: Psycho and RH: Reddust 

WD: Well, the teams are both in the ring. Theres the bell and were under 
way. It'll be Reddust and Gunn in first. They seem to be just circling each other. And wait, they've locked up. Reddust easily overpowers the smaller Gunn. He immediatly goes for a body-slam, and he hits it good. Reddust seems to be taunting Panther, and wait from behing Gunn, trying to do a clothesline.   Oh, no. Reddust easily moves out of the way. And wait. A DDT, by Reddust. Now, a few kicks. He is really taking it to him. Reddust setting him up for a lariat off the ropes. And.... no, Gunn runs under his arm, and now, he is gonna tag in Panther. Here comes Panther. He hits Reddust with a few punches, and a few kicks. He has Reddust in the corner. He has just thrown Reddust into the center of the mat. And he looks to be going for a frog-splash off the top rope. Here he goes....... no, wait, Psycho knocks him off. Hes just laying in the middle of the ring now, its a race to see who tags first. Reddust, almost there, yes. Hes got it. Here comes Psycho, he is cleaning house, hes knocked down Gunn and Panther, now Reddust up, and he is helping. The Rouges are really taking it too them here. Wait, Psycho nails Gunn with the Hardcore DDT!! 1, 2, 3!

WD: Wow, what a night it has been. Well, thanks for tuning in. Well see
