JuNKyArD -- Issue #2

*~JUNKYARD*~ The Ultimate Nirvana Newsletter

Okay, here's the second issue, kiddos!! Last issue, I gave you the topic of "What do you think about the book CoMe aS YoU ARe: The story of NIRVANA by Michael Azzerad." Well, here's what some of you had to say:
*****
"I think that
Come as You Are is the only Nirvana book out there that isn't filled with unfactual statements or outright lies. I mean, it is a book with a load of information. To the people who say that people quote Come As You Are, that may be true, but the fact is, no one is born with knowledge about Nirvana or anything much for that matter. You have to learn something from somewhere. I am 15, and I have read the Come as You Are book about 5 times. I never get bored of that book, because it seems that everytime I read it, I learn something new about Nirvana; it's like I missed something you know. I think that the Come As You Are book is a very good documentary of a great band. Azzerad did a hell of a job and no one has the right to slander that book or anyone that reads it." Kevin

i think this book is pretty good, but with all books you have to be leary...Kurt actually spent some good time with this authour, it just doesn't seem like he'd shit him...it gets sickening hearing the people who look at it as a bible and quote from it everytime they think they know it all about Nirvana...nothing is 100% accurate... b.

come as u are is a good book. it offers good info about the band that can give people insight into their origins and their lives. it was fun to read and was very informative as well. ><><><>< welllluh, it is commercial. it sells and makes money, it promotes the band, but it was a way for me to learn about them what i would never get from MTV or magazines. ><><><><>< what's it all cracked up to be? i wouldn't know, but i can tell you that it is a fine piece of literature. i dun't think it's crap that kurdt told M. Azerrad to lead people on. he's not like that. Kurdt was sincere. the book marks history. ><><><>< i haven't experienced much of that, but it bugs me (in general) when people show off, or know something just to be able to tell you they know it, or to give you the every answer to every question (alathough it is useful!) just to prove they rule. When they know and are humble about it, it is highly regarded by me. One last note, the book rules, but it isn't like a "nirvana bible" or anything; it just tells their story. saitameth

In other Nirvana news......I read a review of the new Sweet 75 album. (Sorry, I forgot the website I found that at...) But the album sounds like it's gonna be pretty neato to me!! The release date of it is August 26...which means that pretty soon we'll be listening to Krist rock again!!!! For a Sweet 75 website, go to: sweet 75--a band that can kick yer ass.

Kind of old, kinda new: Dave's band, *FoO FiGHtErS* have a new single out, called Everlong. You know, personally, I don't think the *FoO FiGHtErS* sound much like Nirvana at all..which I think is pleasing. It's good that Dave has been able to move on. And apparently so has Krist, because Sweet 75 has a reported very wide variety of sounds....

New topic of discussion (having little to do with Nirvana, but it is related in a sense..): What do you think of Courtney Love's new style? Do you think it's "her" or an act she's putting on for the press? What do you think about her and Edward Norton? Do you think it's time for her to move on or should she still be playing the mourning widower? Email all answers to alexandra@nirvanafan.com.

This issue's picture is my absolute favorite picture (or at the very least, one of them...) of Kurt by himself. Enjoy!!

As always, feel free to forward this to friends, but MAKE SURE THAT THEY SUBSCRIBE!!! If you could please inform me who you are forwarding this to, I will automatically subscribe them, and if your friends hate it, then they can email me and cancel their subscription. Also, please inform me of cancellations and screenname changes BEFORE you make them -- if you don't, and then email me with your new name, you may lose your chance to subscribe. It's very annoying pushing send, seeing that "yadda yadda is not a known AOL member" and having to sift through the address book and find your name. So if you're thinking of changing, email me before you delete it!!!

That's all, folks!!
