Final Memories

Awake late in the night,
With the woman of my life,
Close within sight.
Her beauty which lights,
The darkness we share.
As she sleeps close by me.
I feel she did care.

A gentle touch to her cheek,
But she's unaware,
Of the silent thoughts i have,
For the love we both shared.
My hand i lay rest, 
Upon her soft shoulder,
Knowing within our love, 
Is slowly growing colder.

Tears of yesterday,
They fill my eyes,
Recalling the desires, 
Then all the lies.
Tormented by these thoughts,
Of a love gone wrong.
Create within me, 
These final Memories.

Walking late at night,
Her hand clenched in mine.
As we looked to the stars,
For a sign that would bind.
Words softly spoken,
But neither could hear,
With faint thoughts we new,
That our end was near.

Simple smiles we did share,
As we looked to the other.
But behind the smiles,
Were cries that we smothered.
Our hearts we're failing,
Lost and distraught,
For neither would admit,
Their inner most thoughts.

Then our final lies.
Touched by these thoughts,
Of a love now gone.

Years of devotion,
Our love was so clear,
Now the final curtain closes,
Our ending is near.
Was it one's certain faults,
Or was it both we fear.

The sun slowly rises,
Cross a sky filled with mist.
As i gaze out my window,
Is her love i shall miss.
With tears in my eyes,
And feelings gone cold.
I look to her picture,
And i silently cry.

As i close the curtains,
My feelings do subside,
For with her no longer near me,
My heart has died.
Take with you my lady,
All the memories we shared.
Recall all the years,
When we really had cared.

To the home we once shared,
No thoughts of remorse,
For our love was once there.
Goodbye to the memories,
Farewell to our dreams,
With a close of the door,
Our love is gone it seems.
