The Debbie Page
Hey, saw another ARSON gig last night, (Mar 13) it was awesome as usual!!!! Wanted to add some new pictures of myself so it won't look like I don't really exist any more. (Yes, that is really me, thank you (Markus!!!)

Also, here's a pic of my sister Bren on her bike. She lives in Maine, USA.

I first saw ARSON on 1 August of 1998 at
the Feuerwache (Firehouse) here in Landstuhl, Germany. They were opening for another band
that I initially went to see. I had not heard of ARSON before but when they started
playing I thought WOW - these guys ROCK!!!! They did some Scorpion tunes, Black Sabbath,
Billy Idol and some of their own stuff. It was the first time I heard my favorite ARSON
tune: Mayday (you can hear a clip of it on the audio page).
Gussey (Markus), the lead singer really impressed me, what a show - the
energy - the range of his voice - the way he interacts with the audience - awesome. As a
matter of fact I didn't even stay to see the whole show of the band I went to see. I was
so totally pleased with ARSON - the other band didn't add up as far as I was concerned.
The mistake I made that night was not finding out when their next gig
was. I looked and asked around to find out with no luck. Then one night, as fate would
have it, a friend of mine and I were going to dinner in Miesau, GE. We saw a sign for Rock
Im Wald in Miesau with a bunch of bands listed including ARSON. YES!!!!
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the time we got there ARSON had just finished their sound check. I
swore that I was going to find out where these guys played. I stopped Heiko as he was
walking by and told him the story you just read. He laughed and said he was pleased and
went to get a schedule of their gigs for me. Then Gussey came out and I told him how
fantastic they were. He gave me some memorabilia - a sticker, a guitar pick and some other
ARSON
stuff.
The next time I
saw ARSON was at the Jack Inn in Pirmasins. It's just a tiny little club and I thought, My
God, there's no dance floor!!!!! Then I realized, hmmmm, we're in Germany and I guess we
can dance anywhere (even on the tables if we want). (:->) I brought a few
friends with me that appreciated good music and were ready to get crazy!!
By the time the band started, my pals had drained a few (gigantic)
beers and were ready to go! Personally - I cannot sit still when the music is running
through my veins. They sounded awesome, not too loud, not too quiet, especially in a tiny
club like the Jack Inn. Well, as I said, I couldn't sit still so I just got up there in
the middle of the floor and rocked. (O.K., so I'm a little crazy.) My friends Jason &
Mike got up on stage and sang along with the band. Dawn and I were happy to stay on the
floor and dance.
The German people, as a rule, don't dance, and the people at the bar
probably thought we American's were crazy. But we love to have a good time, and before you
know it a few of the German's were up dancing with us. We rocked and partied all night.
The guys in the band are cool. They hung out with us during breaks,
yakking about music and selling T-shirts and CD's. At the end of the night, they even
dedicated a couple of songs to 'The American's'!
The ARSON shows are always fun! They get into their music and make sure
the audience knows it, and make sure the audience is included in the fun. Come see a show.
'Cause if you go to one I guarantee you, you'll be at the next one.
Tonight is New Year's eve and they're playing in Otterbach, GE. It's
going to be mobbed and we're gonna Rock & Roll all night. I'll tell you all about it
later!!!!
HAPPY NEW
YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Hey, Happy New Year! Sorry it's
taken me so long to write - What a fantasic night!!!!! Just as I had expected,
everyone was in rare form. My friends Tracy and Sean showed up. I'm pretty
sure they enjoyed themselves. The pub was full and everyone was rockin' along to the
music. Markus had one guy from the audience come up and sing with the band.
(wait until you see the pictures!) This guy was nuts. Then they had a contest
and got the (female) winners up on stage trying on T-Shirts which all the band
members signed. I think it was Tom that said he wanted a wet T-Shirt contest.
(Sorry, Tom) (:->) And from out of nowhere came a German lady up on stage
who sang a yodeling song. That was pretty wild.
When the moment of midnight was struck everyone ran outside to set off fireworks. That was kind of neat. Once all the fireworks had been set off we hung out for a while then the band started up again. They played until 0300 and would have played to the crack of dawn if they weren't in a neighborhood with homes nearby. DARN!!!!!! It was New Year's Eve, after all. After 0300, lot's of people hung around and socialized, it was great!! The place was still hopping when I left around 0430. Whew! Another great gig!!!!! Thanx guys!!!!
P.S. Photos of NYE are being developed as we speak. Hope to get them to you before my much awaited trip to the States on Friday.
