One Wild Night

Chapter 3 : Evening

Ken ran to the door as he heard the knocking, glancing briefly at the clock. 7pm. Right on time. He had been smart and had jumped in the shower before Yohji. Now, Aya and Omi were running around, trying to finish getting dressed before their guests arrived. *Too late now. * Both boys were rushing around upstairs, trying not to be as flustered as they appeared.

*Aya being flustered, ha! * It was funny to see Aya with emotions. When his sister woke up, it had flipped his world upside-down. Originally, she had teased him about taking on her name. They had tried very hard to call him Ran, but found it most difficult. They only called him Ran when he acted un-Aya like. So right now it would have been more appropriate to say that Ran was flustered, not Aya.

Ken pulled the door open only to see four, brightly colored boxes with two pair of legs beneath them.

"Konbanwa!" The boxes spoke with a harsh German accent as they shoved themselves inside.

"Oi, Schu! don't set that over there!" Nagi called out from behind his two smaller boxes. "Put it in the sink so it doesn't drip on anything."

"Drip?" Ken asked.

Nagi rolled his eyes.

"It’s Farfello’s gift. He insisted that we bring it to Omi, since he wasn't coming. I'm scared to see what it is."

Ken looked at the present. Its dark red wrapping paper dripped a deeper red from the bottom as Schu set the gift in the sink. *Shit, that’s blood dripping from the box. *

"don't worry, Kenken. I don't think it’s human." Schu commented from reading Ken’s thoughts.

Ken frowned at the nickname that Schu had picked up from Yohji. He hadn't liked Yohji calling him it in the first place. Now Schu was doing it, as well.

Ken looked up as Omi bounced down the stairs, quickly forgetting about the dripping present for the time being. *Damn, he looks good! Yohji needs to take him shopping more often. * Schu snickered at Ken’s thoughts. *Get out of my head, Red. * Ken laughed to himself. Schu hated that nickname ten times more than he hated his own. Yohji followed Omi down the stairs, clad in black, hip-hugger leather pants and a green sleeveless tank that barely covered him. Aya trailed behind almost sheepishly. He was slightly uncomfortable in the outfit, no matter how good he looked in it. The tight purple shirt made his violet eyes all but glow. Ken shifted uneasily in his pants. Everyone was very dangerously dressed.

After greetings had taken place and the pizza had arrived, they all gathered around to let Omi open his presents.

"Open mine first!" Schuldich yelled.

"Why?" Omi asked, a little nervous about what the hyperactive redhead might have gotten him.

"Because it’s the biggest!" Schu exclaimed.

"Okay, already!" Omi said as the telepath jumped up to grab the gift. *Did Schu take speed before he got to the party? *

"Of course not!"

The gift towered over Omi, who was currently sitting on the floor in the living area. The room suddenly got quiet as everyone waited to see what odd gift Schuldich had cooked up this time. Ken had received a pink plastic guitar that blew bubbles on his birthday, and so everybody waited in anticipation as Omi tore the paper away.

[3]"It’s a...um... a tator-tot?" Omi asked more than stated.

"Hai! Isn't it wonderful?" Schu stated enthusiastically.

*He is definitely on something. *

Everyone stared in wonder at the four-foot tall tator-tot plushie that was now sitting in the middle of the living room. The silence was broken by a laugh that just produced more surprised faces. Aya fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard. Now everybody was laughing.

"you're laughing at my present." Schu pouted.

"Yes... *laughs* I am!" Aya giggled.

Schuldich finally started laughing as he realized that Aya was giggling. Just the thought of it made him laugh. Aya, giggling!

"Arigato, Schu." Omi said through his laughs. A present that could make Aya laugh was a truly wonderful present.

Crawford present came next. No one was surprised when Omi received a paperweight. It was just like Brad to give someone a paperweight for their birthday.

Nagi gave Omi his present next. Omi was happy about it, but everybody else felt like they had been left out in the cold. It was something for the computer, but that was all they could figure out. It didn't matter, since it made Omi happy.

Ken frowned as he remembered Farfello’s present. Whatever it was, it didn't need to be carried over into the living room to drip blood everywhere. Nagi seemed to realize this, too.

"Um, Omi-kun... Farfello sent you a present, but... well, it’s in the sink."

Omi stood up and moved cautiously towards the sink.

"I don't think it'll bite, Omi." Schu teased. *I don't think it’s even alive. *

Omi opened the top of the box and peered inside. His face went a ghastly white as realization came over him and he stumbled away from the box.

"What is it?" Ken asked.

[4] "I... I think it’s a... a donkey’s head." Omi stuttered.

Nagi turned and smacked Schuldich across the face.

"I told you not to let him watch that stupid movie!! And what did you do?! You ignored me!! You fucking idiot!!"

Omi ran over and pulled a very violent Nagi off Schu.

"It’s ok! It’s ok! Forget about it!" Omi yelled.

"Gomen, Omi!" Schu yelled.

The chaos continued until Aya yelled.

"Quiet!!!"

Complete silence...

"What happened?!" Yohji asked.

"Baka Schu let Farf watch The Godfather with him! Now, Farf is going around cutting off animal heads and leaving them for people as gifts!"

"Ewww..."

Aya rubbed his temples. *Too much yelling.*

"Don't worry about it. Really, Nagi-kun, it’s ok. Just tell Farfello that his present made God happy and maybe he'll stop." Omi pleaded. *Or, at least I hope he will... *

They all tried to calm down as Aya went to get their group present to Omi. Aya returned with a beautifully wrapped package, the result of his obsessive-compulsiveness being the utter perfection of the job. It was good that the other two had let Aya do the wrapping. Yohji didn't have a clue where to start and Ken's would have looked like it had been attacked by a pair of scissors and a roll of tape.

"Oh! Aya-kun!" Omi's face lit up with delight as he pulled a beautifully bound book out of the box. It was obvious that this first gift could be attributed to Aya, even though the contents in the box were from all of Weiß. Everyone looked at the book in confusion as Omi flipped through the pages, but Omi just squealed with happiness.

"There's no words." Schu said. Omi turned to him and rolled his eyes.

"It's a journal, baka. It's for writing in, not reading." Omi had kept his journal a secret from the group until last week, worrying that they would think it was silly. He had only mentioned it to Aya when he had run out of pages to write in. At the time, it seemed that Aya hadn't been paying attention.

Omi caught a small smile slip from Aya's ever present mask as he moved on to the other contents of the box. Omi reached in to pull out a black, wooden picture frame carved with the utmost care. Omi handled the gift as if it was glass, it's sentimental value touching his heart. The frame was divided into four sections, each enclosing a picture of each of them except for the bottom corner where Omi's picture still needed to be inserted. Their names had been carefully carved below each of their pictures, the letters filled in in white.

A small tear rolled down Omi's cheek as he read the attached note to himself, written in Yohji's beautiful script.

Dearest Omi,
You are the life of our family and bring joy to our lives, no matter how dark they may be. Don't be afraid to come to one of us when the journal is not enough and you need someone to talk to. We will always be there for you, no matter what troubles come your way. Never forget that you are loved.
             Your Loving Brothers,
                  Yohji, Ken, and Ran

"Minna...Arigato." Omi muttered quietly.

Omi didn't know what else to say. The gift had touched his heart in a way he hadn't thought possible. His three friends understood and began conversation to start the party up again. Each of them moved to give him a hug before Yohji announced that he had to go get something and ran up the stairs.

Omi shifted nervously as they waited for Yohji to return from his room. Yohji was known for giving purely sexual and usually kinky gifts. Whatever Yohji had bought him was sure to make him blush. Yohji returned to the room and set something down in the middle of the circle that they had formed on the floor.

"Here... everybody take one of these."

Yohji passed out small, black silk bags to each of them.

"Yo-tan, what are these for? And what’s with the Chinese checker set?"

"Hm... We're going to play a little game before we go out tonight. Everybody in?"

"I'm game."

Ken raised his eyebrows at Nagi, the first one to answer. He didn't know Nagi to be so daring, but then, he wasn't there this afternoon to go shopping with them. Maybe Nagi knew something that he didn't. Well, if Nagi was in, then so was he.

"Me, too."

Schu glanced across the circle to Aya.

~I'm in if you are.~

Aya stared back at him while everyone watched as the silent conversation went on between the two redheads.

~Do you know what we're getting in to?~

~*mental sigh* No, Yohji has effectively locked his mind off from me.~

~Great...just great... well, I guess I'll do it.~

"We're in." Schu finally answered.

That left Omi. He took a deep breath and looked at his friends. If it was Yohji’s game and they were all willing to play it, then he had to take the chance. Even Nagi was playing. *But Nagi seems to know something that I don't.* He would do anything for Yohji anyways.

"Ok, I'm in too."

Yohji smiled as they all gathered around the Chinese checkerboard to listen to the rules. Apparently, they weren't going to play a normal game of checkers.

[5] "We're going to play Chinese checkers, but you get every marble you jump, just like in normal checkers. When you jump a marble, pick it up and put it in your bag. You can't pick up your own marbles. Everyone has a different color. I'm green, Omi’s blue, Aya – purple, Ken – orange, Schu – red, and Nagi – black. We play until there’s no marbles left except the winners. Each marble equals a favor. If I have one of Ken’s orange marbles, then he owe’s me one favor. Once the favor has been paid, I would return the marble to Ken. By the end of the night you should have all 10 of your marbles back. The only person who won't have 10 marbles out is the person who finishes the game last. Got it?"

"Umm... Yo-tan? What kind of favors are you talking about?"

Yohji licked his lips seductively and a chill ran up Omi’s spine. Schu grinned at Nagi as they watch Ken’s face light up red as Aya’s hair. Aya tried his best not to smile. This was going to be fun.

"Any kind."
Omi was having trouble concentrating on the game. He only had 2 marbles left and was determined not to give them up yet. He wanted one of Yohji’s and Nagi’s before he was taken out of the game. Everyone had at least one of his, with Yohji, Nagi, and Ken having taken two each. he'd managed to stay in the game for quite a long time. Ken and Aya were out now, having lost all their marbles. (hehe!)

He watched as Schu jumped one of his and one of Yohji’s, leaving him with only one chance to get at Yohji. Fortunately, Yohji was busy trying to clear Schu out of the game and didn't realize it when he lined himself up to be jumped by Omi. Omi smiled happily as he made his move, taking a marble from both Nagi and Yohji while setting up his own doom as well as the end of the game. Only a few more moves and the game was over. Yohji having finished with 3 pieces left. Omi looked down at the sheet of paper he had been using to keep track of everyone:

Omi : blue
2 orange
2 purple
1 black
1 green
2 red
Aya : purple
1 blue
2 orange
0 black
2 green
1 red
Ken : orange
2 blue
2 purple
1 black
1 green
1 red
Nagi : black
3 blue
1 orange
1 purple
1 green
3 red
Yohji : green
3 blue
3 orange
2 purple
3 black
3 red
Schuldich : red
1 blue
2 orange
3 purple
4 black
2 green

Omi was amazed. Though he and Nagi had stayed in for quiet a while, it was obvious that Schu and Yohji were running the game. *Had they been practicing or something? * As everyone sat around examining their prizes, a horn blared outside.

"Crawford’s here."

The group trampled down the stairs and then proceeded to squish themselves into a car that really wasn't meant to seat seven. Omi found himself sitting in Yohji’s lap since he was one of the smallest. Nagi sat opposite him, cuddled around Schu.

"Thanks for driving, Bradley!"

Crawford glared at Schu, but didn't respond to the teasing. He hated being called that. He wouldn't have agreed to drive in the first place except for the hilarious visions that he kept having about later on that night. He wouldn't miss picking them up for anything in the world.

Nagi leaned forward and whispered to Crawford.

"Do I get him?"

Crawford grinned.

"It wouldn't be any fun if I told you, now would it?"

Nagi sat back down. There was no pushing Crawford. If he didn't want to tell him, then there was no getting it out of him, except...? He looked at Schu.

~ Sorry kid, I can't hear anything from him. He already put his barriers up. ~

Nagi pouted. *You'd think that being with a telepathic and a psychic would help a little, but no, they won't tell me anything. *

"How'd the game go?" Crawford asked as he dropped them off, acting like he didn't already know the outcome.

"It would have gone better if I could've stayed in longer," Ken moped. "Yohji and Schu won big time."

Yohji gave Ken one of his best playboy smiles, then pulled him out of the car and into the club.

"No, Kenken. Nobody’s won yet. In fact, the real game’s just beginning..."
