Broken and Never Mended
Wufei sighed as he lay back on his
bed, the soft material of the quilt tickling his cheek ever so slightly, making
him feel uncomfortable. It had been another long and dull day. This seemed to be
too much of a recurring theme for his liking, but the fact was that when he
wasn’t on a mission, life seemed dull. He closed his eyes, relaxing as he
quietly thought about going to sleep, about past missions, about his friends and
about everything else that happened to be going through his mind at the time.
Wufei let out another deep sigh. He enjoyed this time alone in the evenings, it
gave him time to think, time to sort out all the odd thoughts that were always
going through his head, questions that continuously remained unanswered. Wufei
smiled as he felt himself drifting off to sleep. Finally, time to
relax.
A couple of hours later, Wufei found himself sitting bolt upright
in his bed, the covers clutched around his face as he drew his knees up to his
chin. He looked around nervously, unsure of what had just awoken him, until he
heard it again, The sound of a door being opened, and the gentle patter of
footsteps treading lightly through his apartment. Swallowing slightly, Wufei
reached down the side of his bed, trying to find a weapon of some sort to
protect himself from whomever had decided to break into his apartment at this
time of night. Giving up as he failed to grasp anything, he pulled himself up,
so that he was now sitting on top of the covers, ready for whatever was here
despite the fact he was still half asleep. Finally, the door slid open. Wufei
tensed himself up, muscles taught and ready to leap at whoever appeared through
the frame. A dark figure stepped in, revealing himself to be-
"Heero?"
Wufei asked confused, sighing in total relief that it wasn’t some sort of
assassin. "What are you doing here?" Wufei asked honestly, quite taken aback by
the boys sudden appearance. "I haven’t seen you in ages…" Wufei trailed off as
he realised Heero did not look friendly. He didn’t look particularly angry
either, but his eyes were barely open as he stood, swaying very slightly in the
door way. The Japanese boy took a few more steps forward so that he was now
inside the room, shutting the door behind him as he did. He stopped swaying,
seeming to regain his balance and looked up. His face, hair and clothes were all
soaking wet (‘must be raining outside’ Wufei deduced) but his face was deadly
serious. Finally spoke, his usual monotone somehow seeming to have more of a
threatening edge than usual.
"Wufei.." he started "Your right, you
haven’t seen me in ages, but I’ve seen you. I’ve seen you a lot Wufei, I’ve been
watching you." Wufei swallowed slightly, not quite sure what to make of this.
Heero didn’t seem to notice his awkwardness, and continued. "I’ve been watching
you nearly every day Wufei. And I’ve realised that since doing that I’ve been
able to get to know you better than I could have any other way. And I’ve come to
realise Wufei." He looked right at Wufei now, his eyes no longer wandering as he
spoke, but piercing Wufei’s own ebony eyes. "I’ve realised that I need you
Wufei……"
"Heero.. your talking like a mad-man." The Chinese boy looked
around nervously as he spoke, not sure if this was some sort of sick joke or if
the boy in front of him was being serious. Heero ignored his comment.
"And not just that…. But you definitely need me." Heero walked to the
bed faster than Wufei could jump away and soon had him pinned to the bed, water
mingled with sweat dripping running from his face so that it dripped onto the
boy pinned beneath him, his breath warm on his face, making him feel quite
dizzy.
"Heero! Let go off me!! This doesn’t make sense!!" Wufei
struggled, twisting from side to side but with no results as Heero kept an iron
grip around his wrist, leaning closer so that he was now lying fully on top off
the Chinese boy, his own body pressed on top of his, soaking the clothes that he
had fallen asleep in.
"I can’t let you go Wufei. Not until you see
things my way, not until you agree." Wufei continued to struggle as Heero held
him tight, his breath getting faster. Finally he leant forward and forced his
tongue into his mouth, kissing him sharply. Wufei immediately tried to pull
himself away, knowing this was not what he wanted, but Heero just became
rougher. Wufei lashed out more ,finally managing to push Heero off him.
"What are you doing Yuy!!?" He yelled. Heero sighed, shaking his head
with apparent sadness.
"I didn’t want to have to do this Wufei…. but I
came prepared for any reaction…" Heero pulled Wufei up onto his feet, the boy
struggling the whole time. Finally he let go, Wufei’s first reaction being to
run, but before he could even consider such an option, he received a sharp punch
in the face from Heero, that sent him reeling back in pure pain. He fell back
onto the ground, only to be punched again. Pushing himself into a corner, Wufei
brought a hand up to protect his face. Heero laughed at the foolish mistake, and
kicked him sharply in the stomach. Now doubled over, unable to move, he stared
solemnly at the ground, breathing in jagged breaths. Heero seemed satisfied with
this, and knelt down next to him, pulling his face up into his own hands.
Shaking his head he wiped away blood from Wufei’s face, licking it off his own
fingers with delight. Using both hands, he ripped the injured boys shirt off
with ease. Wufei inhaled sharply, desperately trying to react, but none of the
muscles in his body responding as Heero ran a finger down his flat stomach,
before bringing it back up to brush lightly across one of the nipples on his
chest, already slightly hardened from the cold night air in his room. He watched
Wufei’s reaction carefully as he gasped, half in pain, half in unwanted
pleasure. Heero smiled, feeling he had won.
"Heero… stop this.." Wufei
barely managed to whisper, his throat hoarse from the beating he had just taken.
Heero merely smirked, before leaning forward and running a tongue down Wufei’s
chest, playing with his nipples teasingly before continuing down, reaching his
stomach. Before he could go any further though, Heero felt himself being thrown
back as Wufei was somehow able to gather enough strength to kick Heero away.
Struggling slightly, Wufei got to his feet. He didn’t bother to look at Heero,
his only thoughts being escape. Jumping over Heero’s figure, he ran towards the
door. Nothing could prepare him as he heard the safety lock being removed on
Heero’s gun and a shot ring out. The bullet went straight through his shoulder.
Wufei screamed out in pain, but somehow managed to get out the door and run into
the street.
Dragging himself along, Wufei looked behind him
anxiously, unable to see Heero’s figure anywhere. He had been running for an
hour now, and his legs would carry him no more. ‘What a sight I must be’ he
thought, looking down at his shirtless body, blood covering most of his left
side as it ran from the bullet wound in his shoulder, his face surely still
covered in blood from his earlier fight. Finally, no longer able to take it, he
fell back, sliding down against a wall, leaving a small trail of blood on the
stone as he did. He didn’t know where to go or what he was going to do.
Everything seemed hopeless……
Heero drove the streets, desperately
looking for the one he loved. He couldn’t have seen this happening, it wasn’t
anywhere near what he had planned. Of course, Wufei hadn’t been able to
retaliate in the way he did in his plans. Sighing Heero kept scanning the
streets for signs of the Chinese boy. Heero shuddered at the thought of what
could happen to Wufei out here alone. He could be mugged… attacked… raped ..
murdered.. , Heero shuddered at the thought. Suddenly he spotted him, apparently
unconscious, barely visible in the shadows of the alley in which he had fallen.
Heero let out a sigh of relief as he leapt from the car, picking the boy up with
ease, his body seeming light in his arms. Heero drove to his home quietly, Wufei
in his lap the whole time, his head against his chest, leaving a trail of blood
on his clothes. Heero didn’t care. They finally reached Heero’s home, where
Wufei was carried inside.
Wufei stirred slightly, fluttering his
eyelashes as he feverishly opened his eyes. He felt like shit, and that was no
lie. Every one of his limbs seemed too heavy to move, his face felt sore, and
his shoulder felt like it had been shot. He paused as he realised it had, and
the events of the evening came back to him. It then occurred to him that he was
not lying in an alley somewhere, but in a bed, not his own, indoors. He looked
down, realising that his shoulder had been bandaged, and someone must have put
ice on his face, because judging from the punches he had received last night he
was pretty sure his face should have been more swollen than it was, and then at
long last his eyes settled on the silent figure leaning against a wall in the
far corner of the room.
"You.." He raised a hand at Heero. The Japanese
boy walked calmly over.
"I’m glad your alright Wufei.." Heero sighed,
pressing a gentle kiss on his forehead. Wufei didn’t know whether to yell and
scream at this boy for even touching him after what he had done, or to thank him
for saving him from whatever could have happened to him had he been left on the
streets where he last remembered being. "Please don’t hate me Wufei.." Heero
sighed, brushing a strand of untied hair from Wufei’s face "I didn’t mean for
things to end up as they did. Wufei did all he could to stop himself from
yelling.
"You shot me!!!" he said, exasperated. Heero looked up, a tear
running down his face, silencing Wufei.
"I’m sorry Wufei… I never wanted
to hurt you. I just want you to be mine." He leant down again, this time kissing
him on the lips. Heero’s eyes widened in surprise as Wufei didn’t push him back.
Instead he felt a pair of arms being wrapped around him, in a vague hug
(although that is a pretty difficult task when you are recovering from a gun
shot).
"Heero…. Listen to me… I do not feel the same way about you as
you obviously feel about me, but right now." Wufei sighed, as he looked up at
Heero with tear stained eyes. "right now I am yours….." Heero’s eyes widened in
shock.
"But why Wufei.. I don’t understand…" Wufei brought a finger up
to Heero’s lips and silenced him.
"Because Heero Yuy, you are the first
person in the world who has hurt me as much as you just did… and then made me
feel better. I never thought that wounds could be healed when everyone in my
life who has broken my heart and ripped my soul to pieces has left both in
broken shards… but you tried to make me feel better Heero, nobody has ever cared
enough about me to fix what they have broken…." More tears fell down Wufei’s
face, as he found himself unable to even look Heero in the eye as his admittance
of true feelings left him shocked. Heero leant forward and gently wiped away the
tears.
"Wufei……" he sighed…. "I love you as a broken soul… and I will
mend you over and over, only to break you again, Do you not understand that?"
Wufei nodded, no longer crying.
"That is why I am yours now, and maybe
never again. This moment is all that matters to me, for its the only time I’ve
felt this kind of care." Heero shook his head.
"I can’t take you now
Wufei.. I can’t"
"You.. don’t… want me..?" Wufei looked up again, not
understanding this sudden rejection.
"I don’t want you to give yourself
to me like this…" Heero brushed some strands of hair from his face "I want to
take you so that it hurts. I don’t like things to come too easy." And Heero left
the room, leaving Wufei rejected and confused once more Wufei fought back,
tears, refusing to cry at what he had just been warned about. He had been told
he would be used, and broken repeatedly by this boy. But he had already
forgotten how much it’d hurt.
