Candle's Light
"You two sure you'll
be OK walking the rest of the way?" Tai asked.
"Yes, Mom." I
said.
"Thats it..." he pulled me in for the noogie.
"Oh no!!! Dear
god, no please stop!! AAARRRGGGG!!!"
"Hahahaha!!"
"Shut up Ken!
It's not funny, its painful." I said as Tai let go and walked to his
apartment.
"Only for little girls like your self."
"Say it to my
face Ken, not my back.."
"Oh I'm sorry! I thought that was your
face."
"Oh yeah!? Well why don't you-" *BOOOOMMM!!! BAAANNNGGGG!!!! OTHER
BIG NOISES!!!!*
I hopped up and Ken caught me.
"Mommy!"
"Uh....Davis?"
"Huh?"
"Get offa
me."
"...heh heh." As I hopped down, it started to rain. No, not rain,
torrential down pour. "It's raining!!"
"No really? Why don't we stand out
here for a bit longer and see?"
"Yeah yeah. My house is only a block
away. C'mon."
We ran although even if we had walked, we'd be as
wet.
"There's my apart-" I tripped face first into a big ass
puddle.
"Hahaha-" Ken started. *vvvvVVVVRROOOOMMM!* A car drove by,
making a tidal wave all over him.
"Now who's laughing?" I retaliated as I
got up.
"....shut up...."
We made it there as lightning swarmed
all around us. "Holy shit!" Ken said. I pulled him in hard and fast.....maybe a
little too hard and fast.
"Oooff!" He landed on top of me, our faces
inches from each others.
"Oy, that hurt...." he got up, but not before a
strange feeling swept over my body.
"Huh?" I said. "Oh yeah. What do you
eat, bricks?"
"I should call my parents." He picked up the phone and I
watched. I kinda didn't like to see him go...
"Hi mom.......I'm at Davis'
house....Yes I did notice it was raining.........too slippery.....uh
huh.......I'll ask. Davis, is it OK if I stay at your house untill the storm
stops?"
Glee spread over me. I don't know why but I said, "Yeah sure. My
parents and Jun are out untill tomorrow, but it's OK."
"He says it's
fine......OK......really, cheese? You don't say...."
I backed out, not
wanting to hear the rest of the conversation after that last remark. "Hmm...."
Ken and I were about the same size, so I pulled clothing for both of us and
changed into mine. I chucked the we ones into the dryer and went to see
Ken.
"Here." I handed him the clothing after he hung up.
"What's
this?"
"Uh...last time I checked it's dry
clothing."
"...."
"For you to wear."
"Oh."
He
changed in my room and came out looking rather fine. I don't mean the fine you
say when someone comes out looking OK. I mean the D-A-M-N fine.
"Uh
Davis? You're drooling."
"Uh..heh heh." *flicker* "What the hell???"
*BBBZZZTTT!* The lights went out.
"Oh crap..."mumbled
Ken.
"Great...Ken, there's some candles and matches. I'm going to get
them."
"Uhh...Davis? Can I come with you?"
"I won't be gone
long."
"No its just that, I don't like the dark."
If I was as big
a jerk as everyone says I am, I would have laughed right then. But I'm not. I
swear! "OK, OK. Come towards me and give me your hand."
Our eyes had
adjusted and he slipped his cold hand into mine. I wrapped tightly around it,
wanting to warm him a little bit. I liked the feeling of me all around him.
Dude!! What the hell was I thinking??
"Here we go.." I found one with
matches and I lit it. I turned the candle towards Ken. Maybe it was an illusion
of the light, but I swear he was blushing.
"Where are the other
candles?" he asked, snapping me back to reality.
Oh.
"Here. Hold
it high so I can get a look around the room." I handed him the large green
candle.
After rummaging around, I found pack of 50 long, slender white
candles. "Why do we have so many of these??" I murmured. Next I found plenty of
pretty silver stands.
"Don't just stand there, help me out!" I swear to
God he was blushing even more...
"Ok.."
We set them up creating
beautiful lights, shadows, and patterns all around the room.
"Wow." Ken
breathed.
This was going to be an interesting night.
