NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS! So, Sack Lunch Live is in full swing! We are playing Friday February 3rd at Flipside Pizza in Boone, NC. This is going to be a very special event for us because Scott and I have been trying to figure out how to play live with two members in the band for a while. Fortunately, we brought in some extremely talented and super dedicated guys to help us make this happen; Sack Lunch live was born. Miles Price is handling guitar duties, Clint Aul is playing bass, and Louis Poole is raging on the drums. Anyway, we hope anyone who can will come and share this FREE event with us. For those of you who haven't invested any money in an EP, we will be selling those at the show for $5 a piece. Also, Sack Lunch will be entering the studio around the beginning of February. At the beginning of January, we had some unfortunate events transpire leaving us without a studio. Scott and I put our heads together and we have decided to set up shop in a super secret location somewhere in Boone. The plan is still for a 12 song album, professionally printed and packaged like any you might find in a store. We are prepared to take this new album far beyond the sonic and musical scope of the EP. It is and will be our best musical offering thus far. So, we really hope to see you guys this Friday! Cam

Wow, it has been a while since the last update! Since the last time we chatted, I have finished 5 more demos, which brings the grand total to 7. We are currently just beyond the halfway point with about 5 weeks left in the semister. I have 5 demos left so we are right on track. Anyway, I have been putting the demos on a secret website that only I and Scott know about and he is downloading them and working on lyrics and melodies. Like I said before, the new stuff is a lot more focused that the EP. I have simplified my drum kit to the bare essentials and actually expanded my guitar rig. I am experimenting with different guitars, amps, microphones, and effects to create a very solid basic sound. Once I find the sound that I like, I will mess around with more effects and toys to get some cool stuff to layer. I must say, I have been very suprised by what sounds the best; it is not always the biggest loudest amps that prevail. I have decided to add a demo of the first new tune that Scott and I recorded to the music pages. If you have been keeping up with this site, you deserve some goodies. Also, I have put together a live Sack Lunch band! We are currently practicing and aim to start playing out live in January. You will hear everything from the EP, some brand new tunes, and also some of our favorite songs written by other people. Well, be sure to check the music pages and download 'Spiked Bat'! Cam

September 17th, 05

Well, the demo process has started! I have finished the instruments for two songs, only ten to go! Scott, the other half of the Lunch, is in town and we are going to spend a morning in the studio and an afternoon writing. Hopefully, we will end up laying down some vocals for one of the demos and jotting down some ideas for the other one. So far, I have about 7 ideas for songs which means I will have to get on the ball if I want to finish the demos up by X-mas. To speed up the process, I am recording the guitar tracks in my dorm room, and bringing a strero track into the studio to do drums and bass. So far, the new songs, as compared to the EP tunes, are a little more focused which is hard to explain. Let's just say this is going to be a much more solid effort as compared to the EP, which was very spontaneous and experimental. Well, I sould probably get to the studio. I hope everyone has a good morning and good couple of weeks ahead. Cam

September 3rd, 05

So, a lot has happened since the last update. I moved back to Boone for my senior year of college and Scott has started his internship in Ashville. Before I forget, thanks to all you guys who bought a copy of "Weekend and Bernie's"! On a more interesting side note, I have entered "Church of Bone" in the international Audio Engineering Society student recording contest. Finalists from each category will be announced at this years AES convention in NY (which I will be attending). Hopefully someting good will come of that! Also, I am starting the demo process for the next Sack Lunch album today! Our mission is to have 10-12 songs demoed by Christmas time. Our goal for album completion is summer/fall 06'. So, more of the Lunch is not too far away! Thanks again for all of the support! Cam

August 14th, 05

The album is done and available for purchase! After a long day in Winston, we got everything designed and printed. We couldn't have done it without Ashley Haynes who did the layout and design for us. Scott and I are planning a release party before school starts again so we will get that info to you guys as soon as we know. If you are interested in ordering a CD, just email me at yabo83@yahoo.com. We are selling them for 5 dollars plus 1.75 for shipping. We have pressed about 35 to 45 so far and they will probably go fast. You can preview two of the six tracks by going to the music page. Hopefully I will hear from you soon! Cam

August 4th, 05

The Sack Lunch EP artwork is done and looks killer! Harry Blair, my uncle, was gracious enough to do the cover for free. So, in the next couple of days Scott and I will meet up and put the finishing touches on the booklet and layout. Lookout for a release date and possible release party within the next week! Also, I have just added a link to another song, called Church of Bone, which is available for download! So, two songs are currently available for your listening pleasure. I will keep you guys posted on the release date! Cam

July 1st, 05

Well, Sack Lunch is now on myspace.com! We have become trendy bastards but you can now stream Dantonio just by going to the page. Click on the second link on the music page to get to the myspace page, or type in www.myspace.com/thesacklunch to get there direct. Anyway, we are still waiting for the artwork but Scott and I are doing well. We well let you know here first when the new CD is available! Cam

June 24th, 05

The Sack Lunch EP is done! We are just waiting on artwork to begin duplicating. Scott and I are planning on having a CD release party sometime over the summer so when that time is decided upon, I will post it here. Everyone is welcome to come out! We are not positive on the price yet but it should be well under 10 dollars. It all depends on printing and CD costs. Also, a song straight off of the CD is available for download! Just go to the music section and click on the link. Thanks again for visiting! Cam

April 28th, 05

All the guitar and drum tracking for my new project is done! The Sack Lunch EP is coming along very smoothly. We have 2 songs to put bass on, 3 songs to add vocals to, and 4 songs to mix. There are a total of 5 songs, two of which were demoed under the Macdonalds title. I will just say that this is the coolest and best sounding project I have ever worked on. I am really proud of every track and I think all the tracks provide a very fresh look at rock music! For those of you who have't kept up with the old news section, Sack Lunch is Scott Haynes on vocals, myself on guitar, drums, and a little bass, and some guest artists on the rest of the bass tracks. Like all of my projects, this one will be done after I said it would. We are going to try and get most if not all of the tracking done before I leave for home. My plans are to come back up to Boone in June and finish tracking, as well as mixing and mastering. We are also planning on sending this CD out to some labels to see what kind of reactions we get. I will probably make a teaser of a track or two available sometime soon so keep on the look out! Cam

April 4, 05

So, It's Time to Rock is back in print! I will have four copies available by the end of the week and more to come. So, if anyone is interested in ordering one, this is the time to do it. Go to the For Sale page and place an order. You can just email me at yabo83@yahoo.com and we will set you up with a copy! Sack Lunch is in full effect and we have 2 songs recorded sans bass. We spent a very long weekend in the studio with late nights (early mornings) and long hours of recording fun. We are going for 6 songs total for an EP. I will keep you guys posted. I should probably start working on the artwork right now. Check out the bio page for more gear pics and what not. Well, I am tired, so that is all for now! Thanks for visiting! Cam

March 19, 05

So, I am sure a couple of you want to know what has been going on with stuff. First off, I have added a bunch of pictures to the Bio sections. I have given you guys a first hand look at my current rig and the two guitars that I am using the most. Well, My band Last Stretch has found a new singer finally and we are trying to book some shows before the summer. We are also trying to finish up our album which has been put on the backburner for several months. Also, I have gotten together with my good friends Scott Haynes and Ben Bjorle and we formed the group Sack Lunch. You can expect an EP done by the end of April and hopefully a couple of shows; Just think a more metal CJE. Unfortunately, "Its Times to Rock" is no longer in print. I have had printer problems recently and I can't get a new one until this summer. So, if you have a friend who wants a copy and you have one, just brun him/or her a copy. I certainly don't condone CD burning, but in this case I am down. If you want a copy of anything else, please order it through me becasue I am very, very, very far from breaking even by selling my music. Fortunately, you will have the chance to buy two new releases by this summer so save up some dough! I guess that is all, so if you have any questions, just email me at yabo83@yahoo.com. Thanks for the visit

December 26, 04

Wow, it really has been a year since I have put any news on this page! A lot has happened since December of last year so I will do a quick recap. First off, the entire site has been updated! Almost every page has been updated with new pictures and up to date info so be sure to check it all out! Last stretch, my band, finished our demo which is available in the sale section of the website. We played a bunch of shows in early 04 including our first show which was the Appalachian State "Apps" Battle of the bands in which we recieved second place. Another notable show was the summer of 04's Rat's Hole bike festival in Boone, NC. That was actually our last show with our singer, Brad Maddux who graduated and is now living in California. That summer I became a DJ at 90.9 WQFS with a friend and started preperations for a third CJE album. Unfortunately, I had some technology problems and never got enough material together to make the album so it is postponed until this coming summer. So the school year comes around again and I am in Boone with my band. Since recording is my major in college and I have full access to the studio at school, my band Last Stretch decided to record a full length album. Fast forward to now, and everything is done sans vocals. Until we find a vocalist, I cannot finish the album. On an interesting note, I was hired by my recording professor as a TA of sorts and now I run sessions, edit concerts, and do other stuff in the studio! Back to the topic at hand, I dumped all of the album files onto an external hard drive and now I am anxiously awaiting this coming semister so we can finish up the album. During the summer of 05', my plan is to record the 3rd realease from the CJE. I am actually not going by the name CJE anymore; it has been changed to "The Macdonalds". With the change in name came an interesting change in style. The Macdonalds is like the CJE but with more catchy, upbeat, and technical songs. The songs are generally shorter with more of the "fat" trimmed off. I am actually playing some of these songs with my band so you may have a chance to see them live. I am also playing "Break" from It's Time to Rock with my band and it was re-recorded for our full length album. Well, that's enough for now! Remember to email me at yabo83@yahoo.com if you need to order stuff or need more info! Visit the music section to check out new Macdonalds demos! Cam

December 31, 03

Yo yo yo, a new CJE news update. First off, as you can see, I got a new Email address specifically for the CJE (thecje@hotmail.com). From now on, I will use this address. Next, my band, Last Stretch, just got out of the studio (a real one actually) after recording a 4 song demo. It is complete with liner notes for your reading pleasure. I will do my best to make the songs available to you guys through the internet on IUMA.com or something, by physically giving you one myself, or by mail if necessary. After Christmas break, we hope to arrange some gigs as soon as we get enough material. I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you guys at some shows in the near future. Also, I expect to begin working on a new CJE project soon; probably an EP of some sort. This is the acoustic deal I had been talking about for a while. I also might do some recording over the summer, which might be a full length release (with guitar, drums, bass, the works). As always, these projects are just ideas, but will most likely take place. Expect a new name for the rest of my solo stuff from now on, as that I am tired of being The Cameron Johnson Experience. Anyway, I will hopefully get the web site (www.angelfire.com/apes/cj) updated soon with stuff I had been meaning to get done a while ago. I really nead to learn how to upate stuff myself, so I can do it any time I want. Well, as I stated before, I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at some Last Stretch shows soon. Thanks for reading and have a sweet new year celebration!

Yo yo yo, a new CJE news update. My band, Last Stretch, just got out of the studio (a real one actually) after recording a 4 song demo. There is just a little bit of vocal and guitar work (the other guitarist needs to finish up some stuff) that needs to be completed and then the songs need to be mixed. I am hoping that we can get our hands on the demo after Thanksgiving break. I will do my best to make the songs available to you guys through the internet on IUMA.com or something. After Thanksgiving break we hope to get some gigs booked and play out before Christmas break. We have one gig which is fairly certain which is the day before reading day (Monday, December the 8th) in Boone, NC, but we need to confirm it. Of course I will let everyone know when and where those gigs will be as soon as I find out myself. I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you guys at some shows in the near future. Thanks for reading!

News October 15th,

What is new everyone? Well, it has been quite a while since my last update. Fortunately, a lot of stuff has happened since my last one. First off, I joined a band. We are practicing 3 times a week here in Boone, North Carolina so we will hopefully be playing some shows very shortly. Unfortunately, some of the guys are leaving next semester, so this will only be a one semester thing. As far as CJE stuff goes, I am looking into getting some T-shirts screen-printed. I have no idea if or when this idea will become a reality, but as of now I am working on shirt designs. CD's are still for sale for the measly price of 4 dollars. Email me if you are interested in purchasing one. Also, I am hashing out ideas for a new project that will be all acoustic. I know that I was planning on doing this last year, but I believe that now is the right time. I will probably record some old stuff acoustically and also record some new stuff. As for all of the older fans, I do plan on revisiting the first
album's material as well as "It's Time to Rock". I do have a title for this new project, but as always, you all will have to wait. Most importantly, three of the songs on my new album "It's Time to Rock" are available for download at http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/The_Cameron_Johnson_Experience/  .
If for some reason that link does not work, you can go to www.iuma.com and search for Cameron Johnson. Well, I appreciate you guys reading this and I will give you more updates as the arise.

September 8th,

Thanks to IUMA.com, I now have some selections from the new album available to download. Now, these are the songs straight from the album, not the demos currently on the CJE homepage. To get to the songs, just go to www.iuma.com, type in Cameron Johnson in the search field, and when my page pops up, click on artist page and you will have access to the album versions of Break, My Candles Lit, and German. If you like what you hear, don't be afraid to purchase the album! For only 4 dollars you can have a 'sock full o' rock', such as the aptly titled "It's time to Rock" sophmore effort by the Cameron Johnson Experience. As always, to purchase, just email me with your address, I'll give you my address, send me 4 bucks plus 1.75 shipping, and I'll send you an album. Also, if you have not yet checked, check out a review of "It's Time to Rock" on www.sicrecords.net. It is currently one of the "thumbnails" (the one with the frog on it) in the album reviews section. Well, that is all. I
hope to hear from you soon!

July 15, 03'

All is well in the CJE universe! There is alot of news so listen carefully. First off, the website has been given a much needed face lift. Check out what has changed by going to  www.angelfire.com/apes/cj  . Also the 'Recording Process' and 'New Album' pages have been updated with album info and some pics. Just check them out main!
The new album is coming along great! All the songs except one are complete (minus vocals which I am working on right now) so it should not be long for the whole thing to be finished.  I am shooting for the first week of August for a release date but that is not definate. The title of the album is definate but you will just have to wait until it comes out to find out what it is. To those of you who already know, don't tell man! I am unsure of the price but it will be under 5 smackeroos for sure so start saving your hard earned money. As for the sound quality, it absolutely blows away the first album as well as the new demos. As I had mentioned in the past all the demos have been completely re-recorded for the record. I am also utilizing computer technology (yeah...absolutely amazing) for this album so it will be extremely easy to mix and what not. As always, the first album is available for the low price of 1 dollar plus shipping (if you want it mailed to you that is) and demos are available for free plus shipping (if you want it mailed to you). Well, I believe that is it. If you are interested in buying the new album, I can go ahead and reserve you one for when I first print them (once the record is released of course) because I have a lot of CD's reserved already (you can do this by message board or by email). For any of these intrests you can email me at   thecje@yahoo.com or post a message at the message board.  Well, everyone enjoy your summer!

May 13th, 2003

The recording has started! Yes, right now I am recording demos of all the tracks that are to be on the next album. This is basically to flesh out the songs and see what I want to change when I record the album versions. Some of these demos will be available for download on the "Totally new Album" link soon to appear on the web page. Hopefully, the new album will sound so much the sweeter because of some recent equipment purchases. First off, the trusty ol' 4-track is collecting dust because the new album will be recorded totally on computer. Second, I bought a brand new mixer ready to mix the extreme sounds that I dish out. Third, I am about to buy a bunch more mics to improve my drum sound. Fourthly, I am going to buy a sweet vocal mic to improve myvocal stylings. As far as web page improvements go, expect a lot of stuff purely devoted to the recording of the new album like pictures, demos, recording descriptions, but not everything because I would not want you to know everything!  Also, expect the liner notes, album cover, and stuff like that are going to look absolutely sweet because the photographs were taken by my sweet photographer friend! Dude-a-phat! The album title is still under wraps as is the price and just about everything else. I am still working on the whole t-shirt/ sticker thing so if anyone has any ideas or really want's me not to do them, let me know via message board! I believe that is it, so please let me know of any concerns, questions, and complaints that you have. As Wesley Willis himself says,  "I'm just doing it like Misses Butterworbs"

February 7th, 2003

Well everyone, after a long time, the CJE site finally has some new pictures! Yay! You can check out these pics on the main page and also on the Biography page.

The songwriting is still underway for the new album. To change it up a bit, there might even be some special guests on the new record! Sounds cool huh? I am still jamming with some people here and hopefully I can get some performances added to the performance dates page.

For the first time on this very website, there will be an online auction for a CJE T-shirt. There is only one available at this time. Check the 4 sale link for pics and how to bid. On the page it says that the auction ends, well, today. I am going to extend it till 12 PM next Friday. I believe that is the 14th. If nobody bids on it, I will be stuck with it. That being the case, please bid on it! Well, as usual, CDs are still for sale. Unfortunately, there are none in stock at the moment, so if someone wants one, it will take a little bit more time to deliver it because I have to print some more. They are still only one dollar, but that price will not remain for too much longer so take advantage of it while you can!

Well, I believe that is all for now, so stay tuned for new stuff to come like more T-shirts maybe some underwear. Spanks!

January 4th, 2003

Happy New Year everyone! Merry X-mas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Festivas! Merry Kwanza! It certainly has been a long time since I have done a news update. First off, we have been unable to update the news because Matthew the webmaster's computer has had a bunch of problems. As a result, the web pages that were saved on his computer were deleted. Sohe is going to have to download all of the pages again on his computer from the internet in order to update stuff. Second, all 18 hours of school took up a lot more time than I thought it would. Third, I didn't have a mixer up at Appalachian State, so the recording quality was sub-standard. As a result of all of this, I have decided to postpone recording until the summer. In the mean time, I am looking at digital recorders in order to improve the quality of my recordings. If nothing else, I will have my second album finished by the end of this summer. It will be like my first album in that it will be a mix of both electric guitar and acoustic guitar stuff with drums, bass, and vocals all in as well.

You may wonder what I am going to do between now and the summer. Well, I am writing songs and digging some old ones out of the old 4-track archive. I don't know how many songs there will be on the new CD but I hope to make them all as good as I can. On the last recording, I rushed through most of the vocal parts on the CD, so I really hope to make the vocals stand out here. Aside from recording, I still hope to perform once I get my stuff together. I will let everyone know as soon as I get that worked out.

For those of you who are hopeless guitar geeks, it might interest you that I have made some recent gear acquisitions. These include a new amp, a new speaker cabinet, and some new effects to my setup. When I add some new pictures, I will probably include some of my new stuff.

Well, I think that is all I have to say for now. I hope to update this news thing a lot more often. I also hope that everyone has a sweet new year! Look for updates on this site very soon. Spanks!

October 29:

NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS! Finally, something new going on in the CJE world! After a brief break from writing and recording to concentrate on my classical studies and college, I am back to jamming, with a vocalist no less. Dont worry; my less than wonderful voice will still be heard, but just harmonized with another voice! We are going to be doing some performances around Boone as soon as we get practiced enough in the material. Expect a bunch of old songs acoustified and some new ones as well. You can check out performance dates once we start booking them, by going to the live performances link soon to be added on the CJE web page. The performances will be all acoustic with the possibility of some special guests. Also in about three weeks, we hope to have an Mp3 of an all acoustic CJE song performified live, on this very web page! Yeah! I am excited.

The all acoustic CD is still in the works, I hope to back to working on that very soon.

Anyway, CJE debut CDs are still for sale for the low price of    1dollar!!!!!!!!!

If you live outside of Boone, a small shipping fee will be added. You can order by going to the 4 sale link on the web page (www.angelfire.com/apes/cj). I have quite a few available right now, and if you live in Greensboro or somewhere close, it only takes a day for the CD to get to you house! WOW! Anywho, please support the CJE! Without people to purchase CDs, I dont have any money to make them. All the money I make goes right back into buying materials for CDs. Thanks soooo much to those of you who have purchased one already, it helps sooo much! Thanks a lot for visiting, and I hope to see you in some coffee shop some day!

Cameron

September 29th

Yo, yo, yo! The recording has started! I have already finished the guitar tracks for a whole song. This album will not take nearly as long as the first one did. Since it is all acoustic, there is not a lot of electronic hassle which really plagued the first album. I have yet to determine the number of tracks on this album, but it will be a mix of old songs and new songs. I have a bunch of old songs I recorded a last year and didn’t like, so I will piece some together with new riffs to make new songs. Of course, I will also write completely new songs up here for the album as well. My plan is for this album to be finished around X-mas time, but it may be finished earlier and hopefully not later. Over the summer I plan to record a new album with drums, electric guitar, and bass just like the first one. The first album is still available by mail for 1$ plus shipping. Hey man, you can’t get that much for a dollar, so I think it’s a good deal!

Anyway, Thanks for listening, visiting, and emailing! As long as there is still interest, there will be the CJE! Actually, even if there is no interest, I will still record just for my own enjoyment! Thanks!

September 17:

Yes! Finally, I am writing for the next album. I am in a bit of a bind though. I can’t really decide what songs I am going to re-write acoustically for it. I am going to write some new songs for the CD, but I also want to put some of the old stuff re-written for acoustic on it. For those of you who have the CD, please let me know which songs you want to hear acoustified! You can email me at yabo83@yahoo.com, IM me (my name is jbjmc2), drop a message on the message board, or even sign the guest book. I think it would be cool just to see what you guys think. Other than that, I don’t really have anything to update. College is going good. It’s pretty tough but it’s fun; a lot of reading.

Matthew, the webmaster, is going to send me some pics to choose from, and I will tell him what new pics to put on the webpage.

Anywho, thanks for reading! Expect some new MP3’s in the next couple of weeks.

September 2:

What’s up peeps! After my first crazy week in college, I am ready to start work on the second album! For those of you who don’t have the first CD and would like it, just contact me and I will hook you up wit it. Unfortunately since I am at App, a small shipping and handling charge may apply, but might not. It just depends if I am coming home at that time.

Speaking of the next CD, it will be all acoustic. That is basically out of necessity because I can’t record drums and all of that stuff at App. All of my equipment is at home. It is going to be a good thing, because I can sort of focus more on the songwriting part, and less on the whole recording, mic placement thing. Believe it or not, that takes up at least 50% of the time, which is crazy-go-nuts. Hopefully, after I finish the CD, I can do some performances in App and in Greensboro. I estimate that will be at X-Mas time or before. It will be nice to perform after like, a year of not doing it.

As for the website, I am going to try and get some updates done. Since Matthew the webmaster is at Purdue, I am going to have to scan pics and stuff and send it to him. That being said it will take longer to update stuff. The message board is a great place to voice your questions, concerns, and whatever.

Well, I really hope to get everything going again. It will be nice to get back into the swing of recording after a week’s break. Hopefully, this new recording will create a larger CJE audience. When it comes down to it, all I am interested in is making people happy with my music. That’s what music is all about.

Hopefully, the CJE will be around for a long time, and there will be people that enjoy it.    Cameron.

August 21,

The CD is finished! Yes, it is true! Finally, after much hard work over the past 3 days, the album is finished! They will be available later tonight and all day tomorrow. Since I will be leaving on Friday for Appalachian it would be very smart, if you want a CD, to contact me before Friday and I will try to make it happen for you. There will be some way that CD's can be made available when I am gone. I will update on that situation later.

Each CD has 15 tracks of Cameron Johnson goodness. The CD's are only 1 dollar, so don't be stingy! 1 dollar is a good deal!
Please let me know if you want a CD by using the message board, guestbook, or emailing me.

Anywho thanks a lot for all of everyone's support. I have to make this short and sweet cause I gots to pack for college and stuff! Stay tuned for updates on sales, performances, and a new all acoustic CD.

August 6th,

What's new! I'm still hard at work recording here. Only 2 songs to record and some vocals to finish! I think both songs will be finished by the week's end. Recording is coming to a close. It has been a very fun yet tedious task to write, rehearse, record, mix, and duplicate. Overall, I have enjoyed it very much. It is my life man! I'm not done yet, but I will be soon.

Thanks to everyone who has signed my Guestbook: Billy, Matthew, Benjamin, the Flying Bunghole, Liz S., Adam, Eric B., Keith, Karl, Nelson, Alex, Tyler, Jessie, and Gaby! It shows who has taken the time to give me feedback and what not. Spanks!

Also, in no particular order, thanks to Matthew who has been a very awesome web master, a great support over my music, and for not letting me be a perfectionist, Billy for being there from the start, copying the hell out of my demos, and for being an inspiration to share my music with peeps, Benjamin for helping me with "line in" management and for the envelopes, Adam for the constant complements and for being an awesome "street team" member, and Patrick for listening to my drum solo over and over again. Also, thanks to everyone who has ever taken the time to visit this web page!

Funny how I almost forgot, The Cameron Johnson Experience has reached a new level. The demo was played on 90.0 WQFS! WOW! AWESOME! What a great experience! Please feel free and request it by calling 316-2444!

Also, I am still taking orders for CD's, so please email me to let me know, or post a message on the message board.

In the future, look out for a string of performances. I hope to perform in the Boone, NC area and back in hometown Greensboro! I don't know when because I have to get my stuff together and college is in the next couple of weeks. I'll see how it goes at college and I will plan there after. It will probably be just me with an acoustic guitar for now, but you never know. I might just have a band by then!

I am already planning for my next album. It is going to be all acoustic, mostly out of necessity. I can't bring all of my gear to App. I think it is going to be a good thing because it will allow me to focus a lot more on my singing and songwriting skills.

Well, thanks again for everyone's support! I look forward to finishing my CD and hopefully, for you homies to enjoy it!

July 27th

Wow, it has been a while since the last update. I have been hard at work recording and what not, trying to finish the album. There are only 3 more songs to record, and then a bunch of vocals to finish. Fortunately, only one of the 3 songs has drums, so the songs should not take very long to finish. I have about 20 days to finish recording, and a couple more days to master. I have already taken the pictures for the cover, so there is not a whole lot more to finish.

I am taking orders for CD's. If you would like one, please let me know. It would be awesome to know about how many people want one so I don't end up burning 50 if only 5 people want one.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, the new demo is finished. It not only sounds better than the old one, but it looks better. Also included is the finished version of "Unfinished Biznass 1" which is called "Burning Bridges" and "Stuck Between". They are free too! Let me know if you want one, and I can arrange you to get one.

Anywho, I thank you once again for visiting my humble web site. I also appreciate all of your support. I will try and update the news more, but I am really trying to finish up recording. Well, until next time. Thanks!

July 14th

Yes home-ies and home-ets, it has been a slow week for Website updates, but that doesn't mean that it has been a slow recording week. Over the weekend, I re-recorded 50% of the vocals for "Burning Bridges", and I also finished re-mixing "Fear of Change" and "My Fall". Pretty full weekend when you factor in that on Thursday and Friday I was at Appalachian for orientation.

The new and improved demo is finished and ready for distribution. I will give this demo to 90.9; the Guilford College radio station, so hopefully they will play it. I will also get some copies to street team members for distribution. This demo includes the songs "Burning Bridges", "Stuck Between", "Fear of Change", "My Fall", and "Lost" all re-mixed and mastered for better sound quality and balance! I know I said that "Stuck Between" would be an Internet only song, but because it got such an unusually good response, I decided to include it on the album. You guys got to hear it first though! The demo will be available by Tuesday so if any of you want one, let me know through the message board. I will try to get one to you!

Recording is coming along nicely. After I finish a lot of vocal work, the CD will be 75% finished. I plan on making this week a very busy one!

Well, thanks again for visiting my humble page. Please feel free to voice any questions or concerns through the message board. I appreciate everyone's awesome ongoing support. Spanks!

July 5th

Yo yo yo, happy day after 4th of July to ya! As promised a slew of goodies and improvements have been added to the site by our nice webmaster Matthew. Check out the song pole, recording progress page, recording pics page, and message board, which are all in full effect.

I am still hard at working recording the new songs and re-mixing the older songs for the CD. The songs on the demo were mixed very fast, so sound quality wasn't optimum. For the CD, I want every recording to sound it's best.

The main problem I am having right now is lack of promotion. Because it is impossible for me to perform, the only promotion I am getting is from word of mouth. I really need to put together a street team of people to hand out CD's to their friends and their friends' friends. If you are interested in being a part of this please email me at yabo83@yahoo.com. If you have a CD burner, it would be a huge plus as well. I would totally do all of the promotion myself, but I can't record, master, promote, and go to class in the morning, everyday. It would be a huge help for me to have a street team to pass out CD's. There will definitely be incentives for joining and helping out like free CD copies, exclusive songs, and other goodies.

Well, thanks again for every one's visit and time. Enjoy the goodies and improvements! Thanks A-bomb for the suggestions!  I used them!

June 29-

News, News, News! As I promised, the new song "Stuck Between" is finished and should be on the music page by the end of the day. Once again this song is very different from the stuff on the demo and on the album. It was written about a year ago, recorded, and re-recorded some weeks ago. This is an Internet only song that can only be downloaded off of this web page. It will not be on the album and only be available here. It's sort of a little "gift" to those of you who visit the page somewhat regularly. Thank you! If you get a chance, email me with comments about the new song.

Check out the little scrolling banner thanks to the webmaster Matthew. Pretty cool huh? Yes, I am taking orders for CD's. I have a grand total of 1 pre-order, and I hope to sell more. Remember, the more people want a CD, the cheaper they will be. Well, they will be cheap anyway, but you get the point.

I have to tell you, the CD is going to be awesome. I am really trying to suck all of the sound quality out of the 4-track by using plenty of mics and all of my guitars and amps. I am working on 2 really cool songs that are going to be some of the best (if not the best) on the CD.

I have been using effects, which I never normally use a lot to make everything sound more interesting.

I actually submitted this site to Yahoo, so hopefully they will pick it up soon.

Anyway, stay tuned for new CD updates, pictures (I promise), possibly more Internet only songs, and a slew of other improvements!

Once again, thanks a lot to everyone who visited the page. Much love to you! You must be butter, cause you are on a roll! Seya next time with more updates!

June 25th

Yes, thank God, I am back to recording. My new mics finally came and sound pretty good. I have already put them to use in some new songs. The recording process is about halfway done. Check the new link "Recording Progress" on the main page for the recording progress thus far. I said recording process a lot in those sentences.

Gasp! I saw 2 great concerts in three days! Swift and Incubus were stupendously enjoyable. To my surprise, Gary from Swift actually had some good things to say about my demo! Their show was top notch and their new CD, "waging War", is awesome. They are clearly the best act on their new label Tribunal records. Incubus was also great! They played all of their best songs and even included an acoustic version of "Pardon Me"! After the show, my homie Billy (a huge help to my music and me) threw one of my demos on stage with the words "Give to Incubus" on it. I would have done it, but I was too suspicious looking with my beard and what not. There were security guards all right in front of us, so he had to wait for the perfect moment. A roadie saw it, picked it up, read what it said, and put it in his back pocket! Hopefully, he actually gave it to Incubus. That would be dude-a-phat! Who knows!

Today, I spent about 4 hours setting up mics and trying to get some good drum sounds out of them. I actually finished the drum track to my newest song, which is currently untitled. This new song is definitely one of my best, if not the best song I have written.

Unfortunately, I have yet to master "Stuck Between" onto CD. Because of Computer trouble, it will probably be this weekend before the song gets on the net.

As of now, I am officially taking orders for CD's. I still do not know how much they will cost, but they will be cheap! If you would like a CD, email me at yabo83@yahoo.com!

Stay tuned for new pics, a new MP3, and other stuff. Due to the fact that I haven't added much of anything except for news, I will get some goodies for you peeps!

Thanks again for visiting, I really appreciate it! I haven't gotten very many hits this week, or the last, so hopefully web traffic will increase! Thanks!

June 22

What's up snoobans! Finally, another news up-date! Yes, it has been a slow week for me. I actually haven't done much recording, but for good reason. I bit the bullet and spent some of the old Birthday money on some good quality microphones. Hopefully, this will improve my drum, guitar, and vocal sound.

Also, expect the NEW SONG on the music page sometime this coming week.

More importantly, I think I have found a solution to the "too many songs not enough space on a CD" thing. I might just put the leftovers on the music page. Therefore, there will be the CD that you can buy (for cheap), and also the songs you can download.

Anyway, I am going to see Swift this Sat. (today) for their CD release party/show. It should be awesome. I am also going to see incubus on Monday, so I am a happy boy!!!

Well, once again thank you sooo much for visiting the page! I appreciate it to the 2nd power and what not. Eventually, I am going to be taking orders for CD's. Since I don’t expect to sell many at all, please let me know if you would like to buy one. I don’t know how much they are going to cost, but they will be probably around 3 dollars, or maybe less. This is to pay for materials. Although, if a whole bunch of people email me telling me they want one, I can lower the price. I need to know how many to make copies of, so please EMAIL ME at yabo83@yahoo.com if you want one! Thanks a bunchos! BTW, the CD's will have a cover, probably liner notes, a back cover, a little sticker on the CD, as many cool songs as I can fit, and a quality CD that should be quality.

     Thanks again for visiting!!!

June 14th

Well, what a week folks. I just finished helping out at the cultural center's guitar camp, and I am ready to get back into recording mode. The camp was a great success this year and I had a blast!

Why more news you ask? Well this is why. I just recently came back from a Swift show. If you don’t know who Swift is, you should definitely check them out! You can get to their site from my links page. They are a great local band, the most professional in town. Anywho, I gave a copy of the 5-song demo to Gary (the singer) and Jamie (tha drummer). I basically just wanted for them to hear some of their influence on my writing and myself. No, I don’t scream and my music doesn't sound like theirs, but any and all types of music can influence you. All bands should aspire to have Swift's level of tightness, and polished sound, as do I.

Also, once again, we requested for my demo to be played on 90.9 WQFS, the Guilford College Radio Station. After requesting, the DJ said on air the words: "The Cameron Johnson Experience!" Although, he just said he couldn't find the demo, he still said "The Cameron Johnson Experience"!!!

Keep your eyes peeled for the Internet only song coming soon! Thanks a lot to Gary and Jamie from Swift for talking with me and being an influence on my writing! I will see you guys at the CD release party! Thanks to everyone for visiting!

June 12th-

News time peeps! I am in the very middle of the album; recording is well underway. I am actually working on the vocal parts to "Unfinished Biznass 1", which now has a real name that will be revealed when the CD is finished.

A concern that has recently surfaced is the lack of space I have on the CD. Because the majority of the songs written and recorded are fairly long, I don't know if I will be able to include all 12 songs on the CD. I will probably have to not release all of the songs at once, but instead over a longer period of time. I thought about making the CD a two-disc thing, but I don’t think that it would be a good idea to release all of that material all at once. I am very confused over what I should do, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please email me at: yabo83@yahoo.com, or you could just sign the guestbook with some suggestions.

Last but certainly not least, there is something very cool about to happen, and only you people that go to this web site are going to get to enjoy it. For everyone who wanted a new song from the Johnson Experience, you are about to get it! One day soon there will be an mp3 of my song "Stuck Between" on the music page that was recently re-recorded. The song was written early this past school year, recorded, and a couple of weeks ago re-recorded. The song is a little more "poppy" and upbeat than everything else I have done. Therefore, if you hate it but you like my other stuff, you will probably still like the CD. In other words, don’t judge the album based upon that song.

Once again, I want to thank everyone who has visited the page, I really appreciate it! Thanks a lot to all of you who didn't throw my demo away and took some time to listen to it. Also, thank you sooooo much to those of you who wrote me feedback about the demo, and those of you who just gave me suggestions because I am actually using some of the suggestions in my new songs.

Please, if you have time, drop me a line in the guestbook. I really would like to know how everyone feels about the site and my music. Thanks again to everyone for their support and kind words.

According to the disc jockey, the five song demo is still being screened at 90.9 FM WQFS, the Guilford College radio station. You can request the Cameron Johnson Experience or Cameron Johnson by calling 316-2444.

By the way, look for Bio section to actually have something written on it. Also, more pictures are on the way from the recording process.

Anywho, please email me at yabo83@yahoo.com if you have any comments, questions, suggestions, etc… Also, if you have time, please sign my guestbook. I am very interested in your feedback. Thanks so much for visiting; I really appreciate your support!

May 30th-

Yes homeboys and homegirls, more news already. One word can describe what's new: Radio. Yesterday myself and my homies Patrick , Matthew, and Benjamin rolled on over to the Guilford College radio station, 90.9 fm, in hopes of getting the 5 song demo some airtime. Big Pat talked to the DJ, and she instructed us to leave the CD with a note about the tracks on it, in an envelope on the door. We don't know if it has been played or what, so keep your ears pealed on 90.9 fm for any songs off of the CD. If someone does hear it, please email me at yabo83@yahoo.com, so I can reenact the scene from "That Thing you do". Also if you want to reach complete fan status, you can request the Johnson Experience, or Cameron Johnson, any song will do.

By the way, please sign the guestbook if you haven't already so I will know if anyone has been on the page.

I hope to make this a very productive summer by getting a job, and finishing the CD. I have one new song finished, and another in the works. I am thinking about releasing the new song on future copies of the five-song demo. To keep it a five-song demo, I will have to take one off, so I might make it a six-song demo instead. I don’t know what I will do. Email me with any suggestions.

Also just as I was sitting here and thinking; I might also try to put together a couple people to give out CD's to their friends. If you are interested, please email me.

My main mission here is to get my music out to the peeps. I am in no way trying to capitalize on my music; that’s why I gave out those CD's for free. I am really just hoping that people are enjoying what I am doing. Making music is my life, and it is great when someone likes what you are creating. Anyway, I must leave. Thanks a lot for visiting the page!

May 29th-

Yes G's and Honeys, the CJE web site is up and running! Special thanks to Matthew Bastin, my dawg for life, who single-handedly put this dude-a-phat page together!

Now, all you hardcore punks please don't think I sold out! This page is just for my five or so fans that enjoy the demo CD. How else are they going to get to know all of the latest news about my 12 song CD!? Yes folks, I did say a 12 song CD! Twelve songs conveniently placed on a circular metal/plastic disc for your enjoyment. Over the summer I will be recording 7 new songs and finishing the "unfinished biznass" songs by adding vocals and giving them real names. The CD will hopefully be finished by the end of the summer, but probably sooner. If you want a CD when it is finished, I will ask you for a small sum of money (purely to pay for materials) and you will get a CD in return. Be prepared for a semi professional looking cover and liner notes. Unfortunately, I will still use the same "cheap 4-track" to record the songs (It wouldn't make sense for me to buy anything better, because I am going to Appalachian in August to major in recording. Therefore, I will have use of their high-quality facilities). If you don’t have a copy of the five song demo, you can email me at yabo83@yahoo.com and I can somehow get one to you.

I have to give a super-duper-special thank you to Billy Hook. Without the Bill-man, I would not have been inspired to record as much as I have. Billy is definitely my "Numero-Uno" fan. Chances are if you have the five-song demo, Billy spent 20 minutes burning it on his computer. Thanks a lot Billy!

Also, thanks to anyone who has emailed me about or just enjoyed my CD. I really appreciate it! The fans are the most important people in music.

Stay tuned for more updates including pictures, MP3's, links, a bio, and other goodies. Thanks a lot for visiting!
