The first anime series to feature Zoids. It takes place some time after the last major Guylos/Republican war. Major characters such as Van and Fiona are introduced in this saga, along with popular Zoids such as the Blade Liger, Geno Saurer, and Gojulas. Must people don't realize that Chaotic Century and Guardian Force are seperate series, Cartoon Network just stuck them together for easier viewing. The Death Saurer makes it's first appearence in the episode The Capital Ablaze. Too bad it's just the Clone. Oh well, a Death Saurer is a Death Saurer, I guess.
VAN
Van is the main charcter of Chaotic Century and Guardian Force. After his father died five years ago in a border squirmish by Prozen, Van has been searching for a Zoid of his own. This leads to him being chased by a blue Guysack, and his meeting with Zeke and Fiona. Van often tends to get too prideful sometimes, which usually makes him blind to other's feelings. He cares deeply for Zeke and Fiona, even risking his life several times to protect them. Van often relies heavily on Zeke to get him out of tight spots, but he can still pilot his Blade Liger at upmost preformance.
FIONA
Fiona is one of the last of the creators of Zoids, the Ancient Zoidians. Put into a cryogenic state to preserve their race when the Death Saurer rebelled, Fiona lost her entire memory and being. Nicknamed "Fiona" by Van, but her real name is Aleece Lynette. Fiona has the ability to communicate to "feral" Zoids, and she can even control the Zoid Eve to an extent. Fiona is very soft hearted and has a powerful crush on Van.
ZEKE
Van's best friend, Zeke is a sentient Organoid. A sentient, or feral, Zoid is one that has not had a microchip installed that makes them mindlessly submissive. Such Zoids include the Death Saurer(Yeah!), Liger Zero, and Berserk Fury. Zeke was first hostile, even willing to kill Van to protect Fiona. But Van won him over, and the two became partners. Fiona is sorta Zeke's charge, he was instructed to protect her at all costs(more of that in my history of Zi section). Zeke can heal any damage done to a Zoid and rebuild a Zoid Core. When Zeke merges with the Blade Liger, it takes on his personality, and he can feel the damage done to the Zoid. Zeke was named after Van's father's Command Wolf.
IRVINE
Every anime and rpg has one of these. The laid back, tough guy mercenary who deep down inside really cares. That's Irvine in a nutshell(others of the "don't care" atitude include, but not limited to, Brad[Zoids New Century], Inuyasha[Inuyasha, duh], and Heero[Gundam Wing]. They all have a girl that fonds over them, eventually winning them over). Pilots a customized Command Wolf that always seems to get torn up in every battle with Raven. He's also usually mistaken for Fiona's guardian, and has to pay for the things she buys. Chicks love this guy, probably because of his bad ass atitude, close mouthed nature, and his love for Moonbay which, by the way, seems to be one of the top favorites for the female fans of Zoids. Irvine wears an eye patch over his right eye because he damaged it in a battle. Although he can still see out of the crippled eye, Irvine mostly uses the patch to inhance his vision through three binocular like lens. Eventually Irvine annoyed Raven enough to have his Command Wolf crushed by the Geno Breaker. He then swapped the memory rods into the new Lightning Saix and took on Raven again.
Irvine also works the sight alignment for the Ultrasaurus' Gravity Cannon.
MOONBAY
Sweet and sassy. Moonbay worked for the Empire as a cargo transporter before meeting Van. Pilots a highly versitle Gustav, complete with two 30mm cannons above the head. Not only is she wise in the workings of warfare and trade, but she has also been known to use her charm to get what she wants. Unselfish, Moonbay cares for Van, Fiona and Zeke, but has a big softspot for Irvine. Her and Fiona become tight friends after a while, and she teaches Van about using his resources along with himself to complete a goal. Moonbay later pilots the titanic Ultrasaurus.
DOCTOR DEE

The "mad" scientist of this series. While he plays an old senile fool, Dr. Dee has vast knowledge about Zoids and their creators. He used to work for the Helic Army, but has now retired to his mountain retreat, where he wages war with his grandson. After helping him with his snow rocket thing project, Dr. Dee befriends Van and his friends, taking a strong liking to Irvine. Helping them with everything from retrieving Zoid Magnite for Zeke to gaining new upgrades from the Republic, he even built the Gravity Cannon and Planitellicite Shells. Can usually be found with his groupie of girls in bikinis.
RAVEN
Van's archrival, scrouge of the Republican Army. After losing his parents to the wrath of Shadow, he is picked up by Van's father. Prozen later claimed him after kiling off Dan. Ironically, Shadow is Raven's Organiod. Terrorizes the natives in his Sabre Tiger and Geno Saurer. Unlike Van, Raven rarely calls on Shadow's help in battle, and he despises all Zoids on Zi. He answers only to Prozen, and after his defeat, wanders aimlessly until meeting Van again. Later, his Geno Saurer evolves into the Geno Breaker.
