Producer: Konami
System: Super NES
Year: 1992
Overview: The Turtle's Super NES debut is one of their best. In fact, this is a port of their second arcade game.
Story: Shredder has swiped the Statue of Liberty for his own twisted pleasures and sent our shelled heroes back in time. And yeah, he also... Wait... Holy crap, he doesn't kidnap April. Hell must've frozen over.
Graphics: Excellent graphics and animation. Certainly on par with the arcade game.
Sound: Excellent music. Very upbeat and fits the atmoshpere fine.
Gameplay: This one, like the second two NES games and it's arcade counterpart, is a side-scrolling beat-em-up. Like TMNT3, the Turtles all have a unique special move that takes away some of their health to discourage abusing it, as well as a couple extra moves. The action also seems a bit faster-paced than TMNT3. As the gameplay is similar, there's really not much else to say.
Challenge: Not too bad. You do have the option of choosing your difficulty at the beginning of the game, however, you must choose Hard mode to see the good ending.
Final Rating: 9.5/10 One of my favorite TMNT games. I'd certainly suggest looking for this one!
