The Big Shake

(All is quiet in the city, until a major earthquake breaks the silence. Megaman is on patrol
with Rush, when he sees the quake and the damage its causing)
MEGAMAN: Rockin' robots! An earthquake?! We'd better get busy...
(He sees an old woman out amongst the falling debris. Megaman takes her to a safer location)
MEGAMAN: You'll be safe here, ma'm. Sizzling circuits!
(Looking up, Megaman sees a monorail car swiftly approaching a broken piece of track. Using his
plasma cannon, Megaman welds the broken pieces back together just in time.
MEGAMAN: *phew* That was close.
(Looking around, Megaman now sees Cutman and Gutsman prowling about)
MEGAMAN: Gutsman and Cutman! Well, those robo-vultures won't make this disaster any worse than
it is!
(Megaman fires a shot at the duo. Cutman fires a blade back. It misses, but it cuts down a power
pole. Megaman takes a second to fix it.
MEGAMAN: Boy, those guys are a real public nuisance...
(As Megaman is occupied, Gutsman raises a strange-looking gun, and fires from it a small device 
that attaches to the back of Megaman's neck.)
CUTMAN: That mega-fool fell into our trap!
GUTSMAN: We've done what we came here to do. Let's go!
(The two run away. Megaman gives chase)
MEGAMAN: Leaving so soon? The plasma party's just beginning!
(As he chases them, however, he gets waylaid by an avalanche of falling debris. He gets knocked
into a fire hydrant, causing a spray of water around him and Rush.
MEGAMAN: Should've brought my umbrella...Better make sure Dr. Light's okay. Home, boy!
(Megaman and Rush head back to the lab, where he and Dr. Light check out what may be causing the
earthquake. Light is looking at a display on his seismic map.)
DR LIGHT: Hmmm...This is most puzzling...most puzzling. There are no major fault lines in the
area...There's never been an earthquake in this region yet!
MEGAMAN: There's the center of the quake.
DR LIGHT: Preciesly...It's a mystery...
MEGAMAN: I'd bet all my memory chips that Wily is behind it! Cutman and Gutsman were there!
DR LIGHT: You're probably right. But what could Wily be up to? And how could he be involved in
such a strange earthquake?
MEGAMAN: I've duplicated the map. I think I'll go take a closer look at the center of that quake.
ROLL'S VOICE: I can help!
(Roll walks in, with a new device on her bionic arm)
ROLL: I've fixed my baking sensor so it can detect earthquakes. Let's go!
MEGAMAN: Just one nanosecond there, sis. I don't know what I'm going to run into down there. 
There's bound to be trouble if Wily's around.
ROLL: But I can guide you. You need me, and you know it!
(Dr. Light examines the device)
DR LIGHT: Hmmm...It is a rather ingenius modification...
ROLL: (turns smugly to Megaman) See?
DR LIGHT: ...But I must agree with Megaman. You shouldn't go.
(As Roll pouts, they don't realize that Dr. Wily is eavedropping on them...)
DR WILY: Soooo, he's going to investigate the quake's center, is he? Well, let him come! We'll be
waiting, won't we?
(Wily turns on a monitor, showing his robots working on the stone walls of the cave)
GUTSMAN: Heh heh, one mega-ambush, coming up!
(Wily turns to Protoman)
DR WILY: Once Megaman is out of the way, the whole world will bow down to me! Or, I'll start
quakes big enough to shake it all to dust! Now, all we need is for you to get in position to
ambush Megaman.
(Protoman turns on a monitor showing a map of the city, with a flashing green dot.)
PROTOMAN: That's him, right?
DR WILY: Of course. That micro-transmitter I had Gutsman plant on him is working perfectly! That
blue dweeb is going to help my plan, and he'll never even know it!
(Protoman starts to leave, then turns to Wily)
PROTOMAN: Just remember! Megaman is MINE!!
(Protoman leaves the room)
DR WILY: My plan can't fail...with or without Protoman...
(Meanwhile, Megaman is flying on Rush to the center of the quake. Meagman notices a gigantic
crack in the ground)
MEGAMAN: I'll bet that's it!
(They fly into the hole.)
MEGAMAN: Let's see where this goes.
(Rush shoots a flashlight beam from his nose and they head inside. They notice the path heads
downward at a sharp angle)
MEGAMAN: Dr. Light's map says the center is way down that way...WAY down.
(They slide down the hole, deeper into the cave)
MEGAMAN: Woa, better than a roller-coaster, eh Rush? This was the center of the quake, alright.
Dr. Light's seismic map was dead on!
(Looking down, Megaman spots tread-marks on the ground. Rush bends down to sniff them)
MEGAMAN: Just as I thought...Wily has definitely been here!
(Rush looks up and growls)
MEGAMAN: I hear something too...
(Suddenly, Cutman, Gutsman, Stoneman, and Drillman emerge from their hiding places)
MEGAMAN: This way boy, we'd better get some cover...If I didn't know better, I'd say they were
waiting for us!
PROTOMAN'S VOICE: This little party is in your honor, brother!
MEGAMAN: Huh?
(Protoman emerges from a rock behind Megaman)
PROTOMAN: Just you, and me, and a few of our...close friends!
MEGAMAN: Since I'm the guest of honor, let me show my appreciation!
(Megaman fires a shot at Cutman, who fires a blade. The two attacks knock each other away)
CUTMAN: Come on! He can't take us all!
MEGAMAN: You'd be surprised what I can do!
(Megaman fires a fast group of shots, flooring the four robot masters)
PROTOMAN: Good shooting, brother. But you still have to deal with me!
(A giant tank with a skull on the front crashes through the wall behind Protoman. A huge set of
drills are mounted on the front of the skull. Dr. Wily is at the cockpit)
DR WILY: And with ME, Megaman!
MEGAMAN: With pleasure, Dr. Nutso!
(The robots have also gotten up, and start moving towards Megaman)
MEGAMAN: (to Rush) I think we're in trouble, boy.
DR WILY: You're right for once, Megaman! I'm going to grind you into dust!! (to his robots) Get
him! DESTROY MEGAMAN!!
(Megaman franticly dodges shots from Cutman, Stoneman, and Wily's tank. Rush pounces on Stoneman.
As he tries to shake him off, Megaman drop-kicks him in the chest, knocking him for a loop.)
MEGAMAN: Good work, Rush!
(Megaman copies the Power Stone, and shoots off the guns on Wily's tank with it)
DR WILY: You've gone too far this time, you...you mega-menace!
MEGAMAN: I don't think I've gone far enough, Wily!
(Rush motions to the other robots closing in on Megaman. As he battles with them, a plasma shot
is fires at his feet.)
PROTOMAN: Nobody destroys Megaman but me!!
MEGAMAN: Thanks brother, but nobody's destroying Megaman today!
(He shoots the rock Protoman is standing on, then he and Rush dive under Wily's tank)
MEGAMAN: Let's get our tails out of here!
DR WILY: Stop them! STOP THEM!!
GUTSMAN: I'll get him!
(Gutsman picks up the tank to get at Megaman, forgetting who else is inside...)
DR WILY: Not like that, you sack of circuits!! PUT ME DOWN!!!
GUTSMAN: I hear and obey.
(Gutsman sets the tank back down. Rush morphs to his jet and Megaman flys out of the cave)
MEGAMAN: See you later, Wily!
(Wily gets out of the tank)
DR WILY: I ought to reprogram all of you...as garbage collecters!!
PROTOMAN: Don't drain your brain, Wily! He'll come back; he always does.
DR WILY: No thanks to you! But, with that micro-transmitter I planted on him, I can use him to
spy on Dr. Light. And to destroy them both when the time is right!
(Meanwhile, Megaman and Dr. Light explain the situation to the mayor)
MAYOR: Are you quite sure Dr. Wily is responsible for that earthquake?
DR LIGHT: Absolutely, Mr. Mayor. No question. Megaman verified it personally.
MAYOR: But why? And what should we do?
(Dr. Wily's face appears on the monitors in the mayor's office)
DR WILY: I'll tell you exactly what you should do! Submit to me! If you don't, I'll shoke your
cities to the ground one by one! 
MAYOR: W...we can't do that! It's slavery!
DR WILY: Sounds good to me...And here's a little reminder of what will happen if you don't 
comply!
(A brief but powerful tremor hits the office)
MEGAMAN: Hold onto me!
(Light and the mayor cling to Megaman until the tremor subsides)
DR WILY: A moving experience, yes? Mwahaha! Submit, or not one city wil be left standing!
(Wily's image disappears)
MAYOR: *sigh* What are we going to do? He's already caused millions in damage with his quakes!
DR LIGHT: I have one possible solution; my anti-quake stabilizer. I started work on it years ago,
but never finished it.
MEGAMAN: Let's get to work! If we can finish the stabilizer and stall Wily long enough, I can
take out his whole operation!
DR LIGHT: Right! Science marches on!
(They still haven't realized that Wily's been spying on them this whole time, due to Megaman's
micro-transmitter)
DR WILY: So, Dr. Light's going to build an anti-quake stabilizer, is he? Why is that two-bit
techno-jerk always in my way?! I'll use Mega-dweeb to destroy Light, and that will be the end
of Megaman, too! Then, nothing will stop me! I'll target a 10.0 quake directly at his lab! 
Cutman! Gutsman! Get to work on sector 5! It's lights out for Dr. Light, and Megaman! Hahahaha!
(Back at Light's lab, the crew is scrambling to finish the stabilizer as quickly as possible...)
DR LIGHT: Adjust that circuit to 90 megahertz.
MEGAMAN: 90 megahertz. Check, Doc.
DR LIGHT: *sigh* The anti-quake stabilizer just isn't responding...There's something not right
with the sensor interface.
MEGAMAN: Maybe it's the input protocols.
DR LIGHT: Of course! Ah, you are one smart Megaman!
MEGAMAN: You made me that way...
(Wily is still watching)
DR WILY: (sarcasticly) Awwwww...what a touching moment!
DR LIGHT: That just about does it for the sensory controls. We can start on the damper field 
next.
DR WILY: It's a shame to destroy such an interesting-looking device...*laughs evily* But I just 
can't help myself!! (to his robots) Is that special sector 5 hotline ready?
GUTSMAN: Ready!
DR WILY: Goodbye, Dr. Light...It's been miserable knowing you!!
(Back at the lab, Roll's earthquake sensor goes off)
ROLL: Dr. Light! Megaman! Earthquake! And I think it's really big one!
DR LIGHT: I don't hear anything.
MEGAMAN: Better adjust that little earthquake sensor of yours, sis. It's just not...
(Suddenly, the ground begins to shake violently. The quake stabilizer falls on Dr. Light)
ROLL: Megaman! Dr. Light's hurt!
(Megaman lifts the stabilizer off Dr. Light. As he and Roll help him up, the ceiling begins to
collapse. He shoves the others out of the way before becoming buries in a pile of debris)
DR WILY: Pinpoint accuracy! Thanks to Megaman and my micro-transmitter! Ah, what a beautiful
sight! The complete destruction of Dr. Light, his stupid goody two-shoes robots, and their
cozy little lab!! *laughs* Well, that's enough fun for now. On to the next step...
(Back at the lab, Megaman pulls himself out of the rubble, his arm badly injured. He walks over
to a thick steel door and opens it. Dr. Light, Poll and Rush emerge.)
DR LIGHT: You saved us! My security vault held up!
MEGAMAN: I'm glad you're all okay.
(Dr. Light examines Megaman's arm)
DR LIGHT: We'd better get to work on you right away. You may even have internal injuries!
MEGAMAN: How could Wily have targeted the lab so accurately? 
DR LIGHT: That worries me too. He always seems to be one step ahead of us! But right now, let's 
take care of you. 
(Back inside Wily's underground tank...)
DR WILY: Time to give Mr. Mayor a friendly little call...
(At city hall...)
MAYOR: Hello? Hello? Dr. Light? Are you there? Hmm, I wonder why Dr. Light doesn't answer...
Something must be wrong.
(Wily's face appears back on the monitors)
DR WILY: I can explain it for you, Mr. Mayor!
MAYOR: Huh?
DR WILY: Dr. Light and Megaman are out of commission permanently! So, no anti-quake stabilizer
device to save you. Are you ready to sumbit to me? I still have other cities and countries to 
deal with!
MAYOR: Well, I...uh...its...um...NEVER! Go ahead and flatten our city! Flatten every city! You'll
be the emperor of nothing!!
DR WILY: YOU FOOL...You have just destroyed your city, Mr. Mayor! You've never seen an earthquake
like what I have in store for you!!
(Wily's face goes out)
MAYOR: Ohh...What have I done? I couldn't surrender...Dr. Light! Megaman! Where are you?
(Back at the lab)
DR LIGHT: That should take care of your arm.
MEGAMAN: It feels a lot better!
DR LIGHT: Turn over so I can access your motor circuit boards.
(Megaman lays down on his stomach on the lab table. As Dr. Light looks him over, he sees a 
strange device on the back of his neck...)
DR LIGHT: What's this?!
MEGAMAN: What is it?
DR LIGHT: Shhhhh...(whispers) Nobody talk...Roll, give me one of your air-tight food containers.
(Roll does just that. Light drops the device inside and closes the lid)
DR LIGHT: There, we can talk now. (turns to Megaman That was a micro-transmitter device...Wily 
must have planted it on you.
MEGAMAN: Rockin' robots! Wily's been using me all along! That's how he and his rotten bots
ambushed me!
DR LIGHT: And how he knew what was going on in the mayor's office!
MEGAMAN: And how he homed in on our lab with his earthquake!
DR LIGHT: He must've known about my anti-quake stabilizer! (glances at the broken parts) Well,
he destroyed it, all right...and now we'll never find him.
MEGAMAN: Yes, we will. I've got an idea how to reverse polarity on Dr. Wily! C'mon Roll, bring
that micro-transmitter; just don't open the container until I tell you.
(Megaman, Roll, and Rush speed off to the city carrying a dummy of the quake stabilizer)
ROLL: I still don't understand how we're going to find Dr. Wily.
MEGAMAN: We don't have to. I'll use Wily's little micro-toy to get him to come to US!
(Megaman takes the micro-transmitter and places it on the dummy stabilizer)
MEGAMAN: He'll think this hunk o' junk is the anti-quake stabilizer...(loudly and deliberatly)
Good thing Dr. Light finished that anti-quake stabilizer! Now there's no way Wily's plan will
work!
(Wily hears the conversation...)
DR WILY: WHAT?! Megaman still functioning?! Dr. Light's anti-quake stabilizer working?!
ROLL: Yeah, good thing that quake didn't really hurt anything! I'll start cleaning up here while 
you go teach Wily a REAL lesson!
DR WILY: So, Megaman coming after me...That blue-dweeb thinks he's going to teach me a lesson,
does he? Cutman! Gutsman! Drillman! Let's move out!
PROTOMAN: We're going after Megaman?
DR WILY: No two ways about it! All we have to do is track that transmitter signal! We'll give him
the surprise of his very short life!!
(Wily's tank moves out)
DR WILY: I'm triggering the big one now!
GUTSMAN: Heh, this is gonna be fun!
(Wily's tank burrows to the surface; his robots follow behind. Protoman hops out of the tank and
locates the dummy stabilizer.)
PROTOMAN: Where is he? The signal's coming from...(he spots the device on the dummy) this bogus
piece of junk!! (Protoman smashed the dummy stabilizer) He tricked us!!
DR WILY: Impossible!! FIND HIM!!!
(Gutsman breaks through a wall, looking for Megaman)
GUTSMAN: He's here somewhere; I can feel it in my circuits!
(The other robots split up and search. Suddenly, Megaman's voice comes from behind Drillman)
MEGAMAN: Hey! You dropped something!
(Drillman turns around, but Megaman is faster, blasting him a couple of times before he falls
over. Megaman copies Drillman's weapon, causing a drill to form on his arm cannon)
CUTMAN: There he is!
(Cutman fires a blade, but Roll sucks it up with her vaccum arm.)
ROLL: Shouldn't throw your toys around like that!
(Protoman grabs her from behind)
PROTOMAN: Step this way, please!
ROLL: Hey! Let go! Megaman!
MEGAMAN: Roll!
(Protoman carries Roll inside the tank.)
DR WILY: Disrupt my plans, will he? Well, Megaman won't dare interfere as long as I have you!
(The tank burrows back underground)
MEGAMAN: I've got to stop Wily and save Roll!
GUTSMAN: Not today, Megaman!
CUTMAN: Let's finish him! *laughs*
(Megaman uses Drillman's weapon to dig out the column next to him holding up a monorail track)
MEGAMAN: You're the one who's finished! 
(He whistles to Rush and flys away while the track collapses on Cutman and Gutsman)
MEGAMAN: That ought to hold those bozos. Now it's time to shut off this quake.
(He and Rush follow Wily's tunnel into the subway system)
DR WILY: The quake is building G-force...All we need is a few more minutes, and New York City is
history!
(Megaman, meanwhile, lands on the tank and digs into it with the drill-arm)
MEGAMAN: If it's drilling Wily wants, I can give it to him! Just like opening a can...of worms!
(Megaman drops into Wily's cockpit)
DR WILY: Megaman!
MEGAMAN: This just isn't your day, Wily!
(He fires the drill and hits Protoman in the arm, breaking his arm cannon)
PROTOMAN: He's busted my blaster!
DR WILY: My beautiful plan is ruined! We must retreat!
(Wily hits a few buttons on the panel, triggering ejector seats for himself and Protoman.)
MEGAMAN: No time to be scientific! I've got to reverse the trigger command on this quake before
the whole city goes down!
(He bangs on the control panel, and eventually, it explodes)
MEGAMAN: Looks like I punched the right buttons!
ROLL: Yeah, but now we're going to crash!
(Roll points out the window. The tank is heading straight for a wall. Megaman and Roll get out of
the tank and jump off with Rush just before the tank collides and explodes.)
MEGAMAN: Guess that takes care of that.
ROLL: Now that the earthquake is stopped, all we have to do is get Wily! He went that way!
(Roll points behind her, but sees several passages he could've taken)
ROLL: Or...maybe that way...or that way? Aw, he got away! Be we showed him, didn't we?
MEGAMAN: We sure did, sis.
(Back at Light's lab, everyone is pitching in rebuilding the lab)
DR LIGHT: It'll take some time, but we'll be back in operation, better than ever!
MEGAMAN: And Wily will be out of operation for a long time!
(Nearby, Rush is pulling a sled full of debris. Roll is on top, encouraging him along)
ROLL: I'll give you an energy biscuit...
(Rush licks his lips and turns into his jet form, yanking the sled out from under Roll. Megaman
just shakes his head at his moronic dog...)
