Digimon on VHS and DVD

So how can you see the digimon anime except for watching it on Fox, UPN, ABC Family, or whatever channel it's on? Here are some of the video releases of Digimon:

Digimon Volume 1

The first VHS release. Box art isn't too bad. Simply a stock picture of Taichi and Agumon, but it's a pretty good one (better than what's to come, I can assure you). This VHS tape contains the dubbed episodes 1-3 of Digimon Adventure. The VHS taps all have only three episodes on them, so if you do decide to get them, be sure you aren't spending too much on them.

Digimon Volume 2

Containes the dubbed episodes 4-6. Not much else to say about it. Actually, to simplify things, all of the VHSs and DVDs are the dub version unless I say otherwise (which is... let's see... never!).

Digimon Volume 3: Beware the Black Gears

Some unimpressive box art here, showcasing episodes 7-9.

Digimon Volume 4: The Digidestined Child

What the hell just happened? One moment, we were smack in the middle of the Devimon saga, then *whoosh!* we're at the tail end of the Vamdemon saga! Yeah, this volume contains episodes 37-39. Continuity is obviously not in these guys' vocabularies. And wasn't that pic of Taichi also used for Volume 2? I think it was... Not to sound too nitpicky, but can't we at least get some different pictures for each volume?

Digimon Volume 5: Battle with Piedmon

Apparently, we're in such a hurry to get through Digimon Adventure, we don't care about anything else that happens except for the main bad guy getting wasted. This has episodes 50-52.

Digimon Volume 6: A New Digitude

That last box art was awful, but this one actually manages to be pretty good. This starts off Zero Two, episodes 1-3.

Digimon Volume 7: The Emperor's Last Stand

V-mon looks just plain goofy, doesn't he? Anyway, we're still skipping past the storyline, right to the end of the Kaiser saga, episodes 19-21.

Digimon

The first (and so far only) DVD volume in the United States contains the entire Devimon saga, episodes 1-13. Dubbed, for your (in)convenience.

Digimon: The Movie

The dubbed version of Movies 1-3, which was heavilly edited into something completely different from the original movies. It was released on both VHS and DVD. Click the link for more info.

(The Real) Digimon Adventure: DVD Box Set

Here's the way Digimon could've (and should've) been released on video. This set was released in Japan last summer and contains Digimon Adventure in its entirety. I hope and pray this box set will be subbed and brought over to American shores ASAP.

Digimon Volume 1 (Europe)

Unfortunately, this is probably more like what those bastards will chuck at us. This DVD set released in Europe contains the dubbed episodes 1-5, which actually makes buying it pointless if you already have the American DVD volume, which has 13 episodes.
