Producer: Capcom
System: SNES, GameBoy Advance
Year: 1995 (SNES), 2002 (GBA)
Overview: Sequals are notorious for not quite measuring up to their predecessors, but not BoF2. This one succeeds in being everything great about the first game and more.
Story: Ryu seemed like an ordinary boy growing up, but one day, after falling asleep in front of a huge dragon, he returns to his village to find out that nobody recognizes him at all. Even worse, his father and sister have disappeared. Many years later, he becomes a ranger along with a friend he meets called Bow. Bow soon finds himself accused of a crime he didn't commit, and Ryu's quest to clear his friend's name eventualy erupts into so much more.
Graphics: Pretty much the same as I said for thr first game. Only this time, the members of your party are a bit more animated as well.
Sound: Here's where I think the game is a little lacking in comparison to BoF1. Most of the music sounds great, mind you, but what gets to me is the fact that nearly every dungeon plays the same repetative song. Capcom could've done much better in that department.
Gameplay: Plays nearly identical to the first one.
Challenge: I found this game to be a bit harder than the first. Most bosses are a solid challange; tough, but not near-impossible. If there's a problem, it may be that the encounter rate is a bit too high in some parts.
Final Rating: 9.5/10 All I found wrong with this game was that slight peeve with the music. Besides that, this has to be one of the best RPGs out there (and is my personal fave of the BoF series).
I reccommend checking out Dragon Tear.net for more BoF goodness.
