20,000 Leaks Under the Sea

(A seemingly ordinary day at Phister Mining Corporation...)
PHISTER: Are our undersea mining operations still ahead of schedule, Chief?
ROBOT CHIEF: We are exceeding all quotas, Mr. Phister.
PHISTER: Excellent! Excellent! The world needs trichonium ore, and we're the main supply! Keep up
the good work, Chief.
ROBOT CHIEF: Certainly, sir.
(Meanwhile, underwater, the mining robots work, unaware of the approaching threat; Dr. Wily's 
Skullcar, flanked by Cutman, Gutsman, Diveman, and Waveman.)
DR WILY: Ah, what a tranquil sight. Hugh Phister will never know what hit him...Diveman, attack!
(Diveman fires a few Dive Missiles at the underwater complex. The robot miners fight back, and an
all-out battle rages on the ocean floor.)
ROBOT CHIEF: Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Activate defensive procedures. Repeat, intruder 
alert!
(Phister enters the room)
PHISTER: What's this?! Can you get a fix on the intruders?
ROBOT CHIEF: Not yet, sir. Working.
(Back underwater, the battle continues as Cutman slices apart a mining truck.)
DR WILY: That's it, Cutman! Phister's robot miners are no match for us! Heh, heh, heh.
(Cutman rips up another truck as Wily turns to Protoman.)
DR WILY: Oh, I'm delighted, Protoman! So far, everything's going exactly as planned.
PROTOMAN: (gives an a-ok sign) Works for me!
(Back topside...)
PHISTER: The mine's defenses are weakening! Only my old friends Dr. Light and Megaman can help us 
now!
(As he picks up a phone, Megaman and Roll are at the lab giving Rush a little obedience 
training.)
MEGAMAN: That's it, Rush. Stand up and tund into a skateboard.
(Rush does just that.)
MEGAMAN: Good boy. Hey Roll, one energy biscuit for Rush.
(Roll tosses Rush a biscuit, who happily engulfs it. Dr. Light strolls in the room, followed by 
Eddie.)
DR LIGHT: Well, well, well, a little training session for Rush, eh?
MEGAMAN: Yep, he's learning more every day.
(Just as he says that, Rush snatches the box of biscuits from Roll and empties it completely.)
ROLL: Rush, no! Bad dog!
MEGAMAN: I think maybe he's learning a little TOO much...
(Suddenly, an alarm goes off.)
DR LIGHT: That's the emergency channel.
(Phister's voice comes over the speaksers as everyone hurries to the monitor)
PHISTER: Hugh G. Phister to Dr. Light! Come in Dr. Light! I need your help! My undersea mine is 
under attack! Look!
(He shows an image of Waveman blowing away some miner 'bots away with a Water Wave.)
DR LIGHT: Dr. Wily again...Don't worry, Mr. Phister. We'll get right on it!
MEGAMAN: Let's go, Rush. Into action!
(Rush morphs into his jet form, and Megaman rides out of the lab and to the ocean.)
MEGAMAN: Okay Rush, dive time!
(They jump into the water as Rush switches to Rush Marine. They continue toward the mine.)
MEGAMAN: There's no sign of Dr. Wily or the Skullcar anywhere...But he left Diveman, Waveman, 
Gutsman, and Cutman to carry on without him.
(Wily's robots continue to tear up the miner 'bots as Megaman and Rush approach.)
MEGAMAN: It's time to bust up this little party!
(Megaman engages the robot masters. He holds off Gutsman and Diveman while Waveman attacks Rush. 
Rush bites his harpoon arm, but is blown off with a Water Wave. As Waveman moves in for the kill,
Megaman blasts him away. Back at the lab, Dr. Light contacts Megaman.)  
DR LIGHT: Megaman, it's looks like Dr. Wily is trying to take over the mine. So he can get the 
raw materials he need to build more evil robots! You have to stop them!
(Meanwhile, Roll hops onboard a sky-cycle.)
ROLL: C'mon, Eddie.
(Eddie jumps on as well and they fly off. Back at the mine, Wily returns in the Skullcar.)
DR WILY: Destroy him!
(He drops a crate onto the ocean floor next to Megaman. At the same time, Cutman attacks.)
CUTMAN: You're fish bait, Megaman! (he fires a Rolling Cutter, and Megaman easily side-steps it, 
with the blade striking the crate instead.)
MEGAMAN: What's wrong, Cutman? You missed me by a mile!
CUTMAN: (smiles as he crosses his arms) Guess again...
(The lid on the crate was knocked off by the Cutter, and a school of mean-looking fish robots 
swims out.)
MEGAMAN: Sizzling circuits! 'Cuda-bots!
(The fish swim toward Megaman, who swims away to avoid them. They follow persistantly, and 
Megaman can only take a second to take out as many of them as possible before swimming out of 
thier way. Gutsman is unfortunate enough to getin their path and gets his arm chomped off. Lucky 
for him he's a robot, as he just reattaches it. Megaman finally manages to destroy most of the 
fish, and Rush smashes the last of them into a rock.)
MEGAMAN: Good going, Rush. We made chowder out of those 'bots!
(As Megaman is gloating, he doesn't see a Dive Missile coming at him. It explodes at his feet, 
knocking him down. Megaman looks up to see Diveman staring down at him.)
MEGAMAN: Diveman! You're really frying my circuits!
(Suddenly, a huge set of tentacles appear and begin smashing more miner trucks. It's a giant 
squid that reaches out and grabs Megaman and Diveman.)
MEGAMAN: This is all I need...
(The squid flings Diveman into Gutsman, and they both become tangled in Gutsman's fishing net. 
Diveman fires a missile, which embedds itself on one of the squid's tentacles.)
MEGAMAN: Suffering cyborgs! (He's tossed by the squid as well) That torpedo is gonna explode!
(Megaman wrenches the Dive Missile free. He then tosses it back at it's owner, knocking him and 
Gutsman for a loop. The squid then swims away.)
MEGAMAN: You're welcome! Boy, that's gratitude for you...
(Meanwhile, Gutsman and Diveman are still squirming to get out of the net. Cutman approaches them.)
GUTSMAN: Cutman! Cut us free!
CUTMAN: On my way.
(Megaman tries to intercept him.)
MEGAMAN: Oh no, you don't! (He tries to fire, but his arm cannon won't respond. The battle has 
taken quite a toll on him.) Uh oh...Running low on power. But I think I can still finish them 
off. Hey Rush, let's get 'em!
(Rush swims down to a large network of coral and digs it out.)
MEGAMAN: Good leg-work, Rush.
(Megaman picks up the coral and drops it on Cutman, trapping him. Meanwhile, Roll and Eddie 
arrive at the mine and plunge into the water. But their sky-cycle suddenly starts to 
short-circuit.)
COMPUTER VOICE: Malfunction...Water damage to starboard intakes...
ROLL: I guess this thing wasn't meant to go underwater...
(Back with the others:)
CUTMAN: You think this puny cage can stop me?
(Cutman begins to chew his way through the coral with his cutter.)
MEGAMAN: You're...not going anywhere...Cutman...
(Megaman has lost too much power now and can barely move. To make matters worse, Roll crashes the
sky-cycle right into him, knocking him into a patch of seaweed, entangling him. And Cutman has 
broken out of his makeshift cage.)
CUTMAN: You're mine now, Megaman!
ROLL: Oh no, Megaman...You can't power down now! Megaman!
(As Cutman approaches, Roll and Rush try to bring Megaman around, but to no avail.)
ROLL: Megaman! Megaman, answer me! Oh no...He really is out of power. (She swims back to the 
sky-cycle) Gotta get Eddie...
(Back at the cycle, Eddie is still reeling from the impact.)
ROLL: Eddie! Eddie, wake up!
EDDIE: (dizzy) Oh...what day is it...?
ROLL: C'mon, Eddie! Pop your top!
(Without any further explaination, Eddie launches a couple of energy cans to Megaman.)
CUTMAN: Too late for you, blue dweeb... (he cans land on top of Megaman) Huh? What's this?
(Rush tackles Cutman while Megaman drinks the contents of the energy cans, with considerable 
effort. But finally, his power is restored.)
MEGAMAN: Hey, Cutman! Let's see how tough you are now!
CUTMAN: (Charges at Megaman) I'm going to slice you into silicon!
MEGAMAN: If you've been listening, you might have noticed... (Cutman lunges with his baldes, but 
Megaman hold him back with his feet) ...Nobody asked!
(He kicks Cutman backwards, who counters with a pair of Rolling Cutters. Megaman dodges them, 
grabs Cutman by the arm, and slings him into a rock, breaking the blade on his head.)
CUTMAN: I'm going to make paper dolls out of you! (He fires another Cutter)
MEGAMAN: (dodging) I doubt it. 
(He fires a barrage of plasma shots, blowing Cutman back into a truck, which carrins into a 
nearby cave and crashes.)
MEGAMAN: (to Roll, Rush, and Eddie) Thanks, guys. I needed that.
ROLL: (points behind Megaman) Megaman, look!
(Gutsman, Waveman, and Diveman are coming at them.)
GUTSMAN: Let's get that Mega-wimp!
(Megaman fires a few more plasma shots, knoking the three of them into another truck, taking them
into the same cave as Cutman, knocking all four of them into an underwater chasm.)
MEGAMAN: Something tells me that's the last we'll see of them for awhile...
(Later, a grateful Phister hold a ceremony in honor of our heroes.)
PHISTER: All of us here at Phister Mining & Manufacturing owe our livelihoods, perhaps even our 
lives to Megaman and his friends. We are here today to give special thanks to Dr. Light and 
Megaman! (applause) On behalf of all of us here at Phister, we offer this token of our 
appreciation!
(Phister gestures toward a large monitor, whish shows the unveiling of a grand-looking building. 
More applause)
ROLL: It's...a laboratory building?
DR LIGHT: And a magnificent one. I wish I could work in a place like that!
PHISTER: (chuckles) You don't understand, doctor. You're going to! (he hands a key to Dr. Light) 
It is yours, Dr. Light! All yours!
(At the new lab, Dr. Light gazes in wonder,)
DR LIGHT: Oh...I can't believe our good fortune! (He gives the key to Megaman) Go ahead...open it.
(Megaman just frowns as he gazes at the key, then the building.)
DR LIGHT: Is something wrong, Megaman?
(Megaman comes to and opens the door.)
MEGAMAN: Oh, it's probably just those emotions you gave me, but I can't help wondering if all 
this isn't too good to be true...
(They switch on the lights and look around inside.)
DR LIGHT: Oh, my goodness! Why, a scientist could almost work miracles with equipment like this!
ROLL: And look over here! There's enough supplies here to last us the rest of our days!
(Suddenly, the doors and windows close and lock all around them.)
VOICE: Which may not be as long as you like! Mwahahaha!
DR LIGHT: What?! Dr. Wily? (He tries the controls for the door) I can't open these robot doors! 
These controls...they...they're fake! None of them works!
MEGAMAN: It WAS too good to be true!
(The food begins to vanish from the shelves)
ROLL: The food...it's fake too?
DR LIGHT: A holographic illusion...to lure us into a false sense of security...and let down out 
guard. It seems this entire facility is an elaborate, and very deadly, trap!
(A device comes out of the ceiling and covers Dr. Light in a strage ray. He falls over, 
unconcious.
MEGAMAN: (to Roll) C'mon! We're blasting out of here!
ROLL: Yeah, I'll slice and dice our way out!
(Suddenly, she and Rush are also zapped by the beam and are knocked out.)
VOICE: I'm so sorry, but I don't think so.
(Megaman looks over at a monitor, displaying what seems to be Phister, until he takes off his 
mask...)
MEGAMAN: Huh?! Sizzling circuits! Dr. Wily!
DR WILY: Quite so! A most convincing disguise, no? After you got in my way, I kidnapped the real 
Hugh Phister and took his place. (He briefly switches the video to a shot of Phister in a similar
beam as the one that got Dr. Light, Roll, and Rush. Megaman is out of the the beam's range, but 
he lays down, as Wily is too busy gloating to notice.) The award ceremony was all a ruse to 
defeat you once and for all! The radiation from my electro-neutralizer...(The floor begins to 
shake) No, it's not an earthquake, but the building is moving!
(Outside, large metallic feet grow from under the lab as it begins to walk away from its 
foundation.)
DR WILY: You see, the entire lab building is one of my 'bots which obeys my every command! Such 
as, taking my favorite prisoners to their watery grave! Mwahahahahahaha! 
(The robo-lab approaches the ocean and continues into the water.)
DR WILY: Farewell, Megaman! You are never going to leave this laboratory alive!
MEGAMAN: Why are you doing this...?
DR WILY: Well...I guess it doesn't matter if I tell you. I have made an earth-shattering 
discovery! With the help of our friend Phister's deep-sea mining operation, there is a network 
of catacombs deep within the bedrock under his mine containing vast deposits of SUPER trichonium 
ore, that I can use to make my robots indestructable! All I needed was Phister's mining colony. 
Now it will mine the super-ore just for me! Muwahahahaha! (to his robots) Attack!
(Wily an his robots resume their attack on the mine, wiping out any mining robots that interfere 
with them.)
DR WILY: Now watch as I open my new mine. Gutsman! Diveman! Show them my discovery.
(Diveman fires a few missiles at a large rock wall, putting several cracks into it. Gutsman hurls
a rock into it, revealing an expansive cave system inside.)
DR WILY: With you out of the way, old friend, nothing can stop me! Goodbye, Dr. Light! Goodbye, 
little blue dweeb!
(Wily's face disappears from the monitor. Megaman looks up and smiles.)
DR LIGHT: You...are okay? What happened?
MEGAMAN: I manages to get out of the electro-neutralizer's range. But I played possum to fool 
Wily.
(Megaman aims his buster at the neutralizer, but it begins to move the ray towards him.)
DR LIGHT: Be...careful...Megaman.
MEGAMAN: I'm always careful! (He jumps out of the beam's range and hops on top of the 
neutralizer.) There's got to be a way to reverse the polarity on this thing. (He examines the 
device.) Yes! There it is! This calls for some precision work. Only got one shot... 
(He shoots a paper-thin beam into a certain spot on the neutralizer's circutry, reversing the 
effects of the beam.)
MEGAMAN: That 'oughta do it!
(Dr. Light, Roll, and Rush come back around.)
ROLL: What happened?
MEGAMAN: Later. We've still got trouble. (He fires a shot at the door, with little effect.) See? 
The walls are reinforced with alloy armor, and not even my plasma cannon can pierce it. There's 
got to be some other way out...
ROLL: (points out the window) Look, Megaman! It's the giant squid; the one you saved!
(Sure enough the squid is swimming about outside the robot building)
MEGAMAN: Maybe he'll remember me and show a little gratitude...He's our best hope of escape, but 
how do I get his attention?
DR LIGHT: (rummages through some real equipment and hands a device to Megaman) Here, Mega. Try 
this. It's a marine transmitter. It converts speech to underwater sound waves.
MEGAMAN: It's worth a try. (speaks into the device) Help us! Break us out of here!
(Sure enough, the squid hears him. It approaches the lab.)
MEGAMAN: Here he comes.
ROLL: Yeah, and he doesn't look so friendly...
(The squid grabs the armor-plated door and rips it off, then swims away.)
MEGAMAN: It worked! He remembered! Hey, thanks pal! (He waves to the squid, then goes over to the
door. He's peeled off the armor plating! Roll, Rush, you stay her with Dr. Light. 
(Megaman opens the unarmored door and swims out. Roll and Rush close the door before it floods. 
Meanwhile, Wily's Skullcar is drilling the ore from the walls inside the underwater cave.)
DR WILY: In just a few moments, I'll have my first sample of super trichonium!
PROTOMAN: Well it's about time something went right around here. (He glances out the window 
behind him) Megaman! I thought we finished him! (He swims out of the Skullcar and fires a couple 
of shots) You escaped Wily's trap...But you won't escape me!
MEGAMAN: (Dodges the shots) Now that's no way to greet your brother.
PROTOMAN: Well, manners never were my strong suit...
(They're interupted by Waveman, who starts blasting both of them with a Water Wave. Megaman hangs
onto a piece of the rock wall, and Protoman hangs onto Megaman.)
PROTOMAN: No!
MEGAMAN: You partners aren't too bright, brother.
(Protoman is blown back by the wave. Waveman then swims around looking for Megaman, who's hiding 
behind a rock.)
MEGAMAN: Looking for me? (He shoots Waveman, then swims over and copies the Water Wave) Thanks 
for your wave power, pal.
(Cutman and Gutsman, along with Wily's Skullcar start toward Megaman, but he replies by firing a 
Water Wave at the approaching enemies.)
GUTSMAN: It's a tidal wave!
DR WILY: Noooo!
(The robots and the Skullcar are knocked back and slammed into the wall. Megaman smiles, but is 
hit by a missile from behind. He looks up...)
MEGAMAN: Sizzling circuits! I forgot about Diveman!
DIVEMAN: Let me give you another reminder...
(He fires a Dive Missile, but Megaman shoots it with a Water Wave, pushing it back at him, 
blasting Diveman instead.)
MEGAMAN: What were you saying about a reminder, Diveman? (He copies the Dive Missile) Now for 
the coup de gras... (He starts toward Wily's battered Skullcar)
PROTOMAN: He's got Waveman and Diveman's weapons now...plus his own!
DR WILY: Megaman has ruined everything! Auxillery circuts on! I can't let them get their hands 
on my super trichonium! If I can't have it, no one will! I'll destroy it, and Dr. Light with it!
(Wily presses a button marked "Lab Destruct".)
DR LIGHT: Oh, no...Dr. Wily's triggered a self-destruct circuit!
ROLL: This whole place is going to blow up! We have to get out of here!
(Dr. Wily flies off in his Skullcar.)
DR WILY: This will end it for all of them! At least I'll get rid of that Megaman!
(He escapes. While Roll and Dr. Light escape on Rush Marine)
ROLL: Megaman! Dr. Wily's getting away!
MEGAMAN: We can't worry about that now! We have to get to the surface before that robo-lab blows 
up!
(They all swim to the surface, as the faux lab walks into the cave and explodes, bringing the 
mine down with it.)
DR LIGHT: Thank you. Good work; all of you.
ROLL: That was a close call. At least Wily won't be able to use that robot-lab again.
MEGAMAN: And he won't be able to get his hands on that super trichonium, either.
DR LIGHT: No one will. But maybe it's for the best after all.
(They all make their way to the shore. Later, a rescued Phister speaks with Dr. Light and the 
others.)
PHISTER: Dr. Light, to express my appreciation, for rescuing from the prison Dr. Wily left me 
in...
DR LIGHT: (cuts him off) Thank you, Mr. Phister, but I've had enough rewards for one day.
MEGAMAN: But there is one thing that your staff might be able to do for us, sir. Something 
happened to Rush in that robot lab that we don't know how to fix. He picked up a bad case of 
robot fleas...
(Rush, meanwhile, is going ballistic with scratching and eventually falling through the plank 
and into the water...)
