Ch: 3 The Bracelet

Tenshi made her way down fifth avenue. People rushed by her, on there way to work.

Cell phones ranging, pagers beeping. Kids played duel monsters on the sidewalk, the need a lot of practice.

The August sun rained down on her, not that she needed a tan. Spending three years in Egypt was enough to get a complete tan, but it wasn’t fun. Spending countless hours helping Marik decode hieroglyphics, in the dark.

Trying to come up with plans of revenge, and many other things.

She sighed and gawked at her reflection on the bakery window. She wore tan short-shorts, a white tank top and brown sandals. Around her neck was her star and a stretchable necklace. To top it off she wore the sign of Anbus earrings. Her chestnut hair was pulled up on her head, and was held with two sticks.

“You can stop staring at yourself, you look pretty enough,” she jumped. Her heart settled as Marik came up beside her. He wore jean shorts and a black tank-top. The hieroglyphics on her back stood out, she had always wondered what they said but Marik wouldn’t let her get close enough.

“Thanks,” her face red with embarrassment, as she people staring at her.

She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the domino city mall. It was packed, she mazed through the people to the back of the mall. She sat down at one of the tables, Marik beside her. “When do we attack?” she asked, ordering at root beer from the waiter.

He left, Marik spoke,

“Tonight at seven, I found out Yugi, Yami and Seto will be at the Heaven restaurant tonight working.” The waiter sat her drink in front of her, she sipped some of it up. He lingered around, staring at her. Marik got up and confronted him,

“You looking at something?” he asked, his fist clenched. The waiter eyes grew in fear, he backed away shacking his head no. “Well scat, out of here!” Marik gave him one more cold stare before he sat down. He smiled at her, feeling very good.

“Marik how many times have I told you, don’t scare anyone!” anger rose in her voice. No one, I mean no one could control her anger if their life depended on it. Fear rose up in Marik’s purple eyes.

“I am going to go buy some new clothes, see you at seven,” he hurried, got up and made his way to hot topic.

Her sapphire eyes, surveyed the mall, looking for no one in particular. She caught a glimpse of a tri-colored haired teen, Yugi Motou was exciting a bakery, a donut stuffed in his mouth. A slight giggle escaped her lips as she watched him cough, sending the jelly donut into Yami’s face.

She got up and strolled passed them, Yami gave her a side glance. He leaned down and whispered something into Yugi’s ear, yugi’s eyes grew. He glanced her way and waved. She ignored him, and excited the mall.

A limo pulled up beside her, and Seto’s head popped out. His deep blue eyes gazed into her chestnut eyes.

“Could I talk to you?” he asked sliding back into the limo. She slid in as well, the seat was cold against her bare skin. The smell of lavender hung in the air. She gave a quick hi to the driver and shut the door.

“Tenshi, why did you come back?” he asked, he wasn’t facing her to see his expression. But she heard it in his voice, anger, pain and sorrow all jumbled up in one.

“I came back because.... I don’t know why! I can see I am not wanted here, I’m leaving.” She opened the door and stepped out. Seto grabbed her arm.

“Get out of here now!” he was scared and she knew it. Marik came up to them, he pulled Seto’s arm away from her’s.

“Touch her again and you die!” Marik yelled angrily. Marik yanked her down the street and into an alley. “What did he do to you?”

“Nothing,” she was getting scared, he never acted so bitter towards her. He handed her the cloak she wore the first night she confronted Yugi. As she reached for it, he snapped a bracelet on her arm. All the light, happiness and love she had left was replaced by pain, anger and darkness. Marik laughed evilly,

“Yugi won’t stand a chance against my puppet.” The real Marik was back, Seto made him finally snap. She was the puppet and he was the puppeteer. “Now kill him!”

She slowly nodded her head. She snapped on her cloak and ran under the curtains of darkness.
