Hmmm... where should I start w/ Takuto?? There's so much out there about him... ok, I know....
As you know, Takuto is a Shinigami along with Meroko. But, he is not a full fledged Shinigami. He isn't because he only died 2 years ago. His cat ears, I'm sure that you could tell are not real, but a hat, and his tail isn't real, and his wings are attatched to a backpack, so they obviously are not real.
Takuto seems to be an arrogant jerk (wait, aren't all guys, teehee..j/k), but seems to have a soft spot for Mitsuki.
WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!
WHY? you ask...well, when Takuto was human, he was a singer for a band called Route L (Mitsuki's father was the guitarest, Wakaoji-sensei was the keyboarder and Takuto was the main singer), so that's why he seems to have a soft spot for Mitsuki. As time rolls by, Takuto seems to fall in love with Mitsuki, which is proven by him not allowing her to die when her year is up. But, some people say that he just protects her b/c she has the same dream and throat cancer that he did. Yes, Takuto had the same cancer as Mitsuki, and that's why he commited suicide, because he wouldn't be able to live if he couldn't sing.
