Onigumo is somewhat related to Naraku. Onigumo's past is quite tragic; he was a paralysed and crippled man under the care of Kikyo. His body was so burnt that he could hardly move, and Kikyo took pity on him. Onigumo had disturbing thoughts, especially to Kikyo, and lusted for her... While Kikyo was oblivious to Onigumo's thoughts, Kaede somewhat suspected him, and namely didn't like him much. Onigumo had plenty of evil designs and reeked of youki. (evil essence) He drew demons to him like flies as they were attracted to the youki he radiated of. Onigumo desired to be more then a crippled creature and asked a mob of demons for help, thus he was consumed by them and merged with them to become the Naraku we know today. Hence, since Onigumo was a human, Naraku is a half-demon like Inuyasha. On Onigumo's back was the spider-shaped scar which is also branded on Naraku's back. Naraku, like Inuyasha, wishes to be full-demon and is forever looking for a way to rid himself of Onigumo's presence... It is rather strange as well, because the "monster" part of Naraku hates Kikyo, while the "human" part lusts for her. |
