 Miroku is a monk after the Shikon Shards so that he can defeat Naraku. He's a total pervert. Miroku's family was cursed by Naraku with a black hole in his right hand. This air void, since it eventually swallowed his ancestors in, will also do the same to Miroku. Apparently, the male members of his family were also women chasers. (Thats how his great great great etc grandfather first got the air void. He was tricked by Naraku who dressed up as a gorgeous woman...) At any rate, Miroku's goal is to defeat Naraku before he gets swallowed up. His first appearance is in Episode 16, where he meets up with InuYasha and Kagome, while attempting to steal the shards from the two. (He ends up fighting with InuYasha and stealing Kagome's bike. He askes Kagome to bear his child, and InuYasha gets really mad...) Miroku askes almost every women the same question, "Will you bear my child?" Realising that Miroku, InuYasha, Kagome and Shippou have the same goal; to defeat Naraku for good; he joins them in their quest. Miroku also is very good with his staff, and can sense evil energy. He does exorcism for various villages and also uses his wind tunnel to suck monsters in. However, Miroku does steal from unknowing villagers, and he cheats people many times. He has "holy" powers, tries to hit on Kagome and Sango, and gets beaten away...usually. However, Miroku and Sango seem to develop a sort of relationship in later episodes. |
