Soul Calibur

From a replay perspective, Soul Calibur has the most of any fighting game to date. Its combat system is the deepest I've seen, with more moves than any other game of its type. Each character is so diverse that it is worthwhile playing with each. Also, the blocking, parrying, and dodging system is so deep that it'll take you months just to master it. The single player modes, too, are so long and have so many unlockable features that you'll just keep playing. Multiplayer, too, is just incredible, and an expected one or two rounds with a buddy will usually turn into thirty plus. The fact is, Soul Calibur has so much replay that you will still play it years after you've bought it.

In terms of story, Soul Calibur too excels. It provides the most engrossing tale that any fighting game to date has ever provided. The story takes place back in a setting similiar to medieval times, and it revolves around an evil sword and a bunch of characters who are basically trying to find it for their own purposes. The characters each have their own endings, and they all are rather cool, especially the evil characters ends. The mission mode also has a scenario before each fight, only adding to the great storytelling that this game provides. Soul Calibur provides the most engrossing story of any fighting game.

Hands down, Soul Calibur is the best fighting game ever. There is no contest. Graphically, its absolutely excellent looking, with great lighting, artwork, and characters. The combat system is both the best and deepest of any fighting game on the market. As a single player fighting game, this is the best there is, and it will definitely keep you busy. In terms of longevity, Soul Calibur will keep you busy for months trying to unlock everything and improve your fighting skills. Finally, the story in this game is actually quite good, which is surprising for a fighting game, and it actually provides background into why the characters are fighting each other. Overall, Soul Calibur is the best fighting game in existance, and it is a most-own title for all gamers.

Graphics Soul Calibur's graphics are absolutely excellent. The characters are all excellently animated, the models are very realistic, and the level of detail paid to every aspect of the visuals is just incredible. The shadows and special effects, too, are all great looking, and are the best visuals for the time. To top it off, the artwork is absolutely incredible, with original characters hand drawn and added to the game's galleries. Overall, some of the best visuals in a game to date. 10/10
Gameplay Soul Calibur's gameplay is perfect. The combat system is well-balanced, the characters are diverse, and the game itself is deeper than any other fighting game in existance. The mission mode provides the best time that can be had with a fighting game solo, and it also trains the player in the deeper aspects of the game. The other modes are all also excellent, especially versus, which allows you to take on human opponents. Overall, I can find no flaws in this game. 10/10
Story Soul Calibur, too, excels storywise, providing the player with a rich world which actually gives the gamer a purpose for fighting. With different scenarios told in mission mode, cool backstories for each character, and great endings, this game offers a tale that is very RPG like in nature. It would be an understatement to call this games story good. 10/10
Replay Soul Calibur is so deep, it will take you months to actually become proficient in the game. With the largest move list of any fighting game and with a great parrying, blocking, and dodging system, Soul Calibur will definitely keep you busy. Also, there is so much to do in mission mode and so many things to unlock playing solo that you'll spend quite a bit of time just unlocking the hidden features. Multiplayer, too, adds greatly to the replay, with just one match turning into thirty bouts. In terms of replay, Soul Calibur will keep you busy for a very long time. 10/10
Overall Soul Calibur is one hell of a game. With great graphics, excellent artwork, a deep combat system, high replay, and a compelling story, this game can do no wrong. Even today , there has been no fighting game that comes close to touching this masterpiece. Soul Calibur is not only the best fighting game in existance, but it also deserves its spot among videogames' best. 10/10
