One Week Later...
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Rebecca and Trowa walked side by side in silence in the streets of a town in Ireland. Rebecca had found a place to hide their gundams while she went to her father's will reading- which she had.
"Are you sure you're ready?" Trowa asked as he walked Rebecca walk quietly beside him.
"Yeah, I am. I have to face reality... My father is dead, and life has to continue on. It's not like he's the first member of my family I've seen die before my eyes," Rebecca whispered quietly looking straight ahead.
They seemed to speak thousands of word while not saying one whenever they were near each other. Rebecca was scared to death of what she felt for Trowa and almost wanted to be far away from him. But then she felt a longing to be near him. As if Trowa felt the same way, he had suggested that they travel together for a little while.
What Rebecca found hard to believe was the fact that he was trusting her. She thought that he would never trust her because she had tried to kill him. She was very glad she was wrong.
"Where is it at?" Trowa asked.
"In the next house on the right," Rebecca stated quietly.
They both stopped in front of it as Rebecca took a deep breath.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Trowa whispered almost inaudible.
"No, I have to face this alone, Trowa. I am the last Willington alive, and I must attend this reading alone."
"You don't have to be alone," Trowa whispered placing a hand on her shoulder.
She smiled and stated, "That's strange coming from someone who likes to be alone."
She walked in without making a sound to face the wolves who wanted her father's fortunes.
Trowa sighed as he leaned against the door and closed his eyes.
'Who used to like being alone...' he thought as he sighed.

Two hours later, Rebecca emerged without a sound. She pat Trowa on the shoulder, and they started to walk again.
"How did it go?" Trowa asked.
"It could've been worse. I gave my father's business to Quatre, but I'll be able to keep all profits before his death," she whispered looking down.
"Quatre will take good care of your father's business," Trowa stated reassuringly.
"I know... I just feel bad turning it over... I guess it doesn't really matter..."
Trowa kept silent knowing that she was just talking to herself and not him.
"I guess I really have nothing else to do with my life," she stated as they walked into a small one room house they were staying in.
"What do you mean?" Trowa asked shutting the door behind him.
"The only reason why I never escaped or killed myself during training was to keep my father safe. Without him to protect, there's not much else to live for," Rebecca stated sitting on the bed.
"That's not true. Don't you have other relatives?" Trowa asked leaning against a wall.
"I did..."
Their eyes locked for a moment before Rebecca looked away.
"Why don't you rest for a while. You've had a very hard week, and your body and mind need it," Trowa suggested looking out a window.
"Trowa, come here," she whispered.
Trowa looked over at her almost surprised.
"Please, sit by me," she whispered again.
Trowa obliged this time and sat next to her.
"Do you want to know why I stay alone- why I say I have no reason to live now that my father is dead? Answer me truthfully Trowa," she stated.
"Yes,"
"I was five when it all started..."

AC 185
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A five year old Rebecca ran up to a much younger Walter Willington in a pink dress and white stockings. Her brown hair fell just to her shoulders. Behind him stood a sixteen year old with jet black hair and blue eyes as well.
"Becca Bear!" the sixteen year old exclaimed holding out his arms as Walter picked her up in a hug.
Rebecca squirmed out of her father's arms and ran into the teenager's- her brother Steven.
"Are you ready to meet Mr. Winner today?" Steven asked picking up his little sister.
"YES!" Rebecca exclaimed and giggled.
"My aren't we excited?" a soft voice asked.
Up walked Rebecca's mother Emily. She had long brown hair that fell to her mid back and wore an elegant white dress. She had soft and kind green-gray eyes.
Rebecca nodded and smiled as she held out her arms for her mother to take her.
"All right, let's go. I don't want to be late," Walter stated as they walked out the door.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"That's when I first met Quatre and his twenty-nine sisters. We became good friends and have stayed such.
"I was the youngest of my small family with my sixteen year old brother Steven as my only older sibling. Steven was more of a father to me than Walter was because Walter was always so busy.
"Steven gave me this cross when I was baptized when I was a baby, and I've worn it since.
"I was born on Earth and raised there until I was almost four before moving to the colonies. I think I'm the only gundam pilot who wasn't born on the colonies," Rebecca explained.
Trowa had stood up and was leaning against a wall, listening to every word. Rebecca knew he was listening, even if he didn't show it.
Rebecca took a deep breath before continuing,
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Rebecca sat in her room, hugging a teddy bear as Emily scolded Walter for forgetting Rebecca's birthday. She wore blue jean overalls with a white long sleeve shirt under them. Around her neck was the cross necklace and her hair was up in two ponytails on the side of her head with heart barrettes.
"Your daughter's birthday is more important than some meeting!" Emily exclaimed.
"It was at last minute, Em! Beside, she understands; she's very smart for a five year old. She understands that I have work to be done, but I still love her and will make it up to her," Walter defended.
"It doesn't matter how smart she is! It was her fifth birthday and you promised to be there!"
"Look Emily, I don't have time for this!" Walter exclaimed and slammed the door as he left.
Rebecca cringed upon hearing another door slam. She slowly put down her teddy bear and took out the book Ramona The Pest. As she started to read, tears fell from her eyes.
"Knock, knock," Steven whispered coming in.
Rebecca looked up at him with tear stained eyes before throwing down the book, running towards him, and hugging him.
"Aw, Becca Bear, shh," he whispered picking her up and letting her cry in his shoulder.
"Why are they so mad?" she sobbed.
"Mom thinks Daddy needs to keep his promises, especially regarding you, and Daddy doesn't like to be reminded."
"Is it my fault?" she whispered softly.
"No, never, it's never your fault. Becca Bear, children like you don't cause problems like this. Children are innocent and are the true future- unlike us older people who lost our innocence a long time ago. Rebecca, it's not your fault- Dad's broken more promises to Mom than to you, and she's tired of it," Steven tried to explain.
Rebecca looked up at him with confused eyes. Steven sighed and stroked his little sister's hair.
"Don't worry about it. Come on, let's get out of this stuffy house. How about I take you to the park?" Steven asked smiling.
"Park? But we're not on Earth, won't it be fake?" Rebecca asked softly.
"Uh... you are too smart for a five year old!" he exclaimed looking at her amazed.
"I want to go anyway- to get out of here," she stated laying her head on his shoulder.
"Ah, I shall do as Becca Bear commands!" Steven exclaimed putting her on his back.
Rebecca giggled and exclaimed, "To the park, horsy!"
Steven neighed as he galloped with her on his back.
Steven walked through the park with Rebecca on his shoulders, listening to her every little thought and whim.
"Steven," she started.
"Yes Becca?" he asked smiling.
"How do they make green Jell-O green?" she asked innocently.
"I really don't know, dear. Probably food coloring."
Suddenly, alarms started going off.
"Steven, what's going on?!" Rebecca asked gripping onto her brother's neck tighter.
"I don't know," Steven stated taking her down from his shoulders; she immediately grabbed onto his leg.
Steven looked in horror to see an explosion coming towards them. He kneeled down and covered Rebecca.
"Don't look Rebecca!" Steven exclaimed trying to shield her eyes.
Rebecca's eyes widened as she saw the blast and screamed. She buried her head in Steven's chest before going unconscious.
A few hours later, Rebecca woke up all alone. She was bleeding and hurting all over. One of her overall straps was torn and her left ponytail had fallen down. She picked up her heart barrette and walked blindly where she was.
She heard and a moan and turned around to see Steven with a major wound in his stomach from a debris that had hit him from the blast.
"Steven!" she cried and ran over.
Steven moaned as he opened his eyes and looked at her. A small smile spread across his bloody face.
"Becca Bear... you're safe," he whispered picking up a bloody hand and stroking her cheek.
"Steven, get up... we have to go home," she stated starting to cry. She didn't have a clue that her brother was dying.
Steven chuckled but then grimaced.
"Becca, I'll be going Home, ...but not to our house," Steven stated starting to wipe the tears from her eyes.
"What do you mean?! Of course you're going home to our house!" she screamed angrily; Steven smirked as he took in a deep breath.
"Rebecca,... I'm sorry I won't get to see you grow up... You're going to be a beautiful woman, I know it... Never lose your faith... And remember, children like you are the future- not people like me..." he whispered smiling.
"Steven...?" Rebecca whispered still not fully understanding what was happening.
"I love you... my little Becca Bear..." he whispered as he eyes closed, and his hand fell to the ground.
"Steven..." Rebecca whispered softly as tears started coming harder.
"Steven, get up!" she urged walked trying to pick him up. "Get up! We're going home! Steven!"
Then it hit the five year old- her brother wasn't waking up. She stared at her brother's bloody body, the brother who she had been talking to her a moment ago. The brother she hadn't said good-bye or even I love you to before he died.
She let out the most mournful cry ever made by a person for the entire universe to hear.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"He died protecting me..." Rebecca whispered trying to hold back tears. "I never even said good-bye... I just kept telling him to get up so we could go home... I didn't even tell him that I loved him..."
Rebecca hugged her knees and tried not to cry. Trowa walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. Seeing that is wasn't helping, he sat next to her and started to slowly rub her back. Almost on instinct, she placed her head on his shoulder.
"What about your mother?" Trowa asked finally.
"... ... I found her dead and the rest of the colony destroyed..."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Rebecca stared at the ruins of the entire colony. All around her were moaning and wailing people reaching out bloody hands before dying. After walking past street after street of it, she put her hands over her ears, closed her eyes, and ran screaming.
She eventually ran into a man and fell over. She looked up to see a man with spiked brown hair and small black eyes.
"What is this- a survivor? My Kitsune gundam prototype was supposed to kill out all life..." the man whispered angrily.
Walter slowly walked up.
"What is it- REBECCA!" he exclaimed before running over and picking her up.
"Daddy! Steven is dead and so are all these other people!" Rebecca exclaimed as she sobbed into her father's shoulder.
"She's yours?" the man with spiked hair asked.
"YES! You told me that my family would be safe! Emily and Steven are dead; you assured me they would live!" Walter exclaimed holding his daughter close to him.
"A slight miscalculation," the spiked hair man stated shrugging.
"I will not fund your project anymore, V!" Walter exclaimed.
"Now look here, Willington, you signed a contract. And while we're on that subject, the brat is mine," V stated.
"What?" Walter whispered holding his daughter.
"That's right- you promised me one of your children to train to pilot Kitsune, and she's the only one living."
"You can't have her- she's all I have left,..." Walter whispered as Z walked over.
"It's in writing, Walter. I could ruin you in a moment with all I have on you. If you don't give me the brat, I will!" V threatened.
Walter looked at the no longer sobbing Rebecca who was holding onto him. She was all he had left of his family and Emily- she was his baby girl.
But V could ruin everything he had worked for in a blink of an eye.
"Can I see her again?"
"Of course not; that would ruin her training. But I'll send pictures," V stated snatching Rebecca out of her father's arms.
"Daddy! Daddy, don't let him take me!" she pleaded screaming and crying.
"This is for the best, Becca Bear. Grow up to be smart..." he whispered as V started to walk away with her over his shoulder.
"DADDY!! DON'T LET HIM TAKE ME AWAY!! DADDY!!" she screamed.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Rebecca had stood up and was looking out the window so Trowa wouldn't see the silent tears falling. This was the first time she had ever told anyone what happened when she was younger, and she felt like she was living it all over again.
"V was just my first scientist. Four others killed him to train me and have me pilot Kitsune because I was such a genius soldier. That's how Z got me; he had already been training Jean at the time...
"I was fourteen when Z got me. By then I had enough independence to go and visit my father- who never acknowledged me. Z saw this as a problem, thinking I may run away. He threatened to kill my father if I didn't do what he said...
"I disobeyed him one too many times and now my father is dead because of me, too... I might as well have killed all the people on my colony as well; I pilot the gundam that did. That's all I am- a murderer. Anyone who is around me gets killed..."
She hung her head and wrapped her arms around herself.
"In fact Trowa, you shouldn't hang around me either while we're on this subject... you'll most likely end up dead as well," she stated looking away.
Trowa slowly stood and walked towards her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind very slowly and almost apprehensively.
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "I'll take my chances."
She turned around and looked at him wide eyed. He smiled ever so slightly at her. She slowly leaned in and kissed him very softly on the lips, just barely touching them. He kissed back, harder. They seemed to kiss forever, both of them enjoying the strange feeling getting stronger the longer they kissed.
When they finally broke apart, Rebecca put her head and Trowa's chest, and he wrapped his arms around her tightly. Without speaking a word, they both spoke volumes.
